Brilliant about the walking, Hercule! It definitely sounds like she's mastered it :) I think part of the walking battle is to get them to actually want to do it... IMO Noah was physically capable for a couple of months before he actually did it, as he wasn't interested before then!

Is it wrong for me to be quite excited about DH having full responsibility for 30 hours?! I know he doesn't believe me when I say how knackering it is to be solely responsible for them for a long period of time, so would just like him to feel a tiny bit of what I do :) Blush The longest he's had responsibility is about 6-8 hours so far, and even then he went to ILs and MIL played with Noah while him and FIL did something in the garage! Thankfully that's not an option at the weekend as ILs are away :o I'm just wondering if he'll ever admit it's hard Wink

I have no idea about chicken pox, Blathers, I'm not really looking forward to that stage of child development Confused

MrsHerculePoirot · 05/04/2011 12:53

Definitely not wrong to be excited about that Kate - I was a little bit secretly pleased she woke up in the night for DH. That's bad isn't it...?

KBlatherskite · 05/04/2011 13:24

Forgot to say - Lee, I think the Dec 09 meet up is a great idea. :)

LifeOfKate · 05/04/2011 20:22

Oh, I forgot to say too, I think a meet up would be good :) Where do you all live?

I'm in MK but know Notts quite well having been drunk gone out there a lot as a student.

Not sure where everyone else is.

We're getting Sky+ fitted today! I managed to get us a place on the Mumsnet trial so it's free for a year (as DH refuses to pay for it) I can't wait. Soooo many new things to watch!

LifeOfKate · 06/04/2011 12:13

Notts would be do-able for me, I'm in Lincolnshire, so sort of next door :o

Blather - Sky+ has transformed my life, it's amazing :o

Any recommendations of things I should watch Kate? Assuming of course the man doesn't see where I want him to route the telephone cable and make a run for it Grin

KBlatherskite · 06/04/2011 13:51

The K is from the MN Spring meet-up thread. The list of people attending was done alphabetically and someone noted that there were no names beginning with K, W or D (I think) coming. B's were well covered so I added a K for fun. :)

DH would love Sky but he's too tight to pay for it. He's very happy that we're getting it for free but has already said that it's going when the trial runs out and I believe him - he's stubborn like that. We currently have Freeview and a PVR so we can pause, rewind and record live TV just like Sky+ but with none of the cost after the inital purchase of the PVR and having an ariel put up. We just don't get so many channels and no HD.

He's very excited about watching the F1 in HD though bless him - and we're going to my sisters birthday party on Sunday so he'll have to record it! He he.

MrsHerculePoirot · 06/04/2011 19:30

Hello, hello everyone! I would love to meet up with all of you - I am in south london though but am willing to travel! I think though that MK is about 1.5 hours away from south london and nottingham (depending on exactly where people are obviously), so would meeting in the middle be an option do you reckon?

Last day of work for me - Easter holidays are here! The weather was so nice earlier that I collected Imogen earlier than usual so we could play in the garden with the pop up tunnel and tent thing I got from ELC. She loved being outside, I taught her to get down the steps safely and she was off! The only problem was that the grass hasn't been cut yet so she couldn't realy walk on the grass, only the decking, but even so she was quite happy crawling about and playing! I hope we have a nice summer, I would love to spend hours out there with her this year!

I am v jealous about sky+. We only have freeview and nothing else, so if we are recording something we can't watch another channel, only something else already recorded. No pausing live tv or anything like that!!! We keep thinking about it, but then it seems a lot of money... maybe we will though one day!!!

My fave programmes are the moment are The Mentalist and Glee (I am easily pleased!).

LifeOfKate · 06/04/2011 20:23

To be honest, I can't remember which programmes are on which channels, so can't recommend anything specific to Sky channels! It's mainly the live pause/recording etc that I love, I rarely watch anything 'live' anymore, just go and pick something from the recorded list and get really frustrated by adverts that I can't forward through now Blush DH is totally in love with the HD, although I can't say I notice whether it is HD or not!!

MK would not be overly good for me, as I am 1.5 hours north of Nottingham, so a good 3 hours from MK so not really do-able in a day.

London is easy from MK. It's about 45 minutes on the train.

It's not the train vs car thing, I just don't think I could manage the hours of travelling with Noah and a bump all in one day :) I think 1.5 hours each way is about my limit and I'm in North Lincolnshire so Nottingham, Grantham, Boston, Sheffield, York would be the furthest. Definitely couldn't manage London, I would have to leave again as soon as I got there! It's no problem if I'm not able to come, I know I live in a very inaccessible place, don't worry :)

Agree about Sky Atlantic, lots of good stuff on there!

LifeOfKate · 08/04/2011 11:36

Ooops, didn't mean to kill the thread, sorry!

Hope you're all ok and enjoying this beautiful weather!

You didn't kill the thread Kate, we've just been outside enjoying the weather :)

I took the children to soft play today - they have a massive sand pit outside so we sat in the sand and had ice creams. It was lovely.

Heavily pregnant with a toddler would be no fun at all, I can understand why you wouldn't want to travel too far. Nottingham or Sheffield would be my first choices from your list.

MrsHerculePoirot · 10/04/2011 19:06

I am still here, but mostly outside enjoying the weather... promise to post more soon, but Imogen also walking really well now, I can't believe how fast it has happened in a week!!!

LifeOfKate · 10/04/2011 20:35

Lovely to hear about all the walking :o I was also surprised how quickly they 'got it' once they started :)

I had my first night away, it was lovely to just be able to wander off to the loo without either taking Noah or telling someone else to watch him! It went beautifully for DH, he had no problems getting him to sleep, fantastic :o
Also, we might have inadvertantly weaned Noah, he didn't ask to be breastfed tonight when I put him to bed... not sure how I feel about that yet!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/04/2011 09:33
