Hello all! Sorry I have been a bit absent. I have at long last been diagnosed with post natal depression. I don't know why it didn't occur to me before. I just thought I wasn't coping very well and therefore just a bit crap at being a mummy. I was so busy trying to keep on top of everything, with new baby, travel, moving house, etc that I didn't stop to think there might be something more to it. I have been on the pills for 4 weeks now and I am amazed at the difference!Smile It's brilliant!

How are you all doing? We'll soon be on a new thread!

Question: at what age do children cope with a non-baby swing seat? i.e. an ordinary flat swing seat. I want to get a swing for DD for the garden. We have an amazing tree that is perfect for it, and it would be great to get one that she could get on and off by herself rather than having to ask me to lift her in and out each time. Not sure if that's realistic or not though.

DD is really enjoying the new nursery. Thanks all for your advice when we were looking around. She absolutely loves it so it was worth looking for something nicer than those I initially found.

Better get back to DS now. He has non stop dribbly nose and is just a bit miserable at the moment.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/03/2011 13:40

I do like 'mummy stop moaning' though!!! Grin

Glad to hear dh is back Carrie.

I worked 10-6 at the NCT sale yesterday and I'm flippin wiped today - even though I was sitting on my arse for the majority of the day! The good news is I sold ALL of my stuff - hurrah!

I meant to mention before MrsA, that if you would like to dicuss a VBAC (ds 2 was a VBAC in water at home), I'm more than happy to.

Oh, gotta go, Mr Sainsbo's is here.

Becaroooo · 28/03/2011 13:42

fanny Lovely to hear from you...so glad you are feeling better. Within 2 days of starting the ADs I felt like a different person Smile

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/03/2011 14:04

Hi Fanny, lovely to see you. Glad to hear you are feeling so much better and positive about things :-)

I don't think being ready for a flat swing seat has much to do with age, more to do with each individual child. DS for example would fall off again and again (he's too buy arsing around to remember to atually HOLD ON!), yet his friend who is the same age sits beautifully on a swing and can be left on it with no problems whatsoever.

If you're not sure, how about having the seat very low to the ground? So any falls aren't quite so spectacular?

I was looking like this Blush at the contents in my Sainsbo's delivery. It was FULL of biscuits. There were loads of half price biscuits and in the next few weeks I'm hosting a few coffee mornings and then when the baby is born there will be loads of people around for tea, biscuits and a cuddle. I felt as if I had to justify my purchases to the delivery driver Blush

CappuccinoCarrie · 28/03/2011 14:07

so so sorry about the PND and that it took so long to get diagnosed, crikey what a lot you've been coping with lately. I'm so glad that the pills are making a difference :)
I don't think my DD was on the 'big' swings til last summer, at nearly 3 1/2, but take your DD to the park and have a go and see what happens! You can buy swings where you clip on a baby seat, then unclip it and attach a grown up one, so you don't to buy two frames. And I guess your DS will get the use out of the baby one this year?
How are things at the new house, did you resolve your nursery/childminder isshoos satisfactorily?

bec How old is your DS1, how long have I got left of smothering DD in kisses in public? She's going to be 4 on Sunday, how did that happen?!

ITMIMI well done on the NCT sale success!

Meglet · 28/03/2011 14:34

Becaroooo · 28/03/2011 14:41

oops Blush
done.

Meglet · 28/03/2011 14:53

aaaaw, they look adorable Smile

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/03/2011 15:05

Aww Becs your pics are lovely!

ILTMIMI I had no idea you had a VBAC at home - it sounds amazing. My mw said I'd have to fight really hard to get a home vbac and whilst scar abruptions are very rare, when they happen it is life-threatening and we are 30mins from hospital. So she's spooked me a bit.
I also am overweight and will probably have mild high bp if this pg is anything like the last one.

So...........do i fight? I just don't know. I am not good with drs at the best of time but then again if you asked me what my ideal birth scenario would be, it would be in a pool on the living room floor with my favourite telly on :)
I would appreciate any thoughts you have - pm me if it's not appropriate for this thread (I don't mind saying it all in public though).

Am 6+5 today ladies. So many weeks to go yet!!! Scan on 20 April.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/03/2011 15:16

OH MY OH MY OH MY

Have just been told that I am one of just 6 MNetters who have been chosen to test and keep a brand new dishwasher.

Am gob smacked. Things like this never happen to me.

Now DP will have to eat his words about how awful MN is Grin

DebiTheScot · 28/03/2011 15:28

Oh my goodness! That's amazing! Well done MrsA. I've never been chosen to test so much as a bottle of fairy liquid!

Debs75 · 28/03/2011 15:50

MrsA you lucky thing i wanted to do that but we have nowhere to put one.

Fanny so sorry on the pnd but glad you got the help. hope things are better now

Robyn is poorly againSad She has conjunctivitus again and a temperature and is currently aleep onthe chair. She has been sleeping on and off for about 2hors now, so unlike her.
On the plus side I have stopped feeding her. We put her to bed in our bed and let her grumble her way to sleep. She does have a little cry but is soon over. It is so nice to just have 1 baby groping at my boobs, at least this one doesn't have teeth yet

Becaroooo · 28/03/2011 18:22

I'm confused at where all these posts came from! Earlier it said the only post since last time I'd looked was the dishwasher one but there had been loads.
Good to see you fanny and glad to hear things are going well now. Hope things slow down a bit in your life and give you time to enjoy your children.

I'd seen Star was back, hope she is as ok as she can be Sad
