2 half decent nights of 2 wakings and we're back to 5 again. I'm soooo tired and grumpy today and we're supposed to be off at 10 to meet someone who lives nearby in the hope I can make a friend in this crappy town. Every.90.mins.on.the.dot. What a gorgeous, smiling, edible PAIN IN THE ARSE, AAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!

...I'll be back in a bit, just off to rock in a corner sucking my thumb...

it seems that when 1 has a good night tsc others have a worse night chulita!!
L woke at 12 to put his dummy in and at 4 for a bottle within 15 mins was back asleep and woke at 7.30 so not too bad, i put socks on his hands everynight and when he wakes his hands are FREEZING! dont know what else i can do, the house isnt cold!
stranded in the house again today my mum still has my car im hoping L will let me iron and wrap some presents!

CrimboCakeandRoses · 08/12/2010 10:20

jeez - bad night here and my third trip back upstairs to settle A during her nap - the house is 3 storeys too so i'm just about done in now

catch up properly shortly

DesperateHousewifeIsXmasCrazy · 08/12/2010 10:27

Well done Frankie!

We're off to meet friends today, Dylan woke 3 times last night I think, but he was in our bed again from the beginning.

I BOUGHT MY WEDDING DRESS!!
Im quite excited about it Grin

Im not going to say anything about it though in case DP snoops on here (unlikely but dont want to risk it)
He would have read worse stuff on here if he does though!

CrimboCakeandRoses · 08/12/2010 10:52

Ooh how exciting dh ! Can you tell us more on fb group?

Someone did bad voodoo magic on me yesterday after saying A doesn't wake up for her dummy much! She woke a million times (roughly) last night. I think her cold (or a new one) has returned ever snottier so she was struggling to breathe with dummy in.

And why do they do it when you have a night out planned? Off for girly drinks later and wanted to look and feel NICE not dead.

Was your curry good wss ? What's curry like in nz compared to the uk?

My two often wake up when I go out - I think they sense something. But on the bright side, they managed without you so you know you can do it again.

tsc maybe Frankles is on his way back to the ranks oif good babies (will be lonely there tho). Poor dd1, looking all bunged up for her birthday tomo :-(

chulita if you've made it out to meet your new friend, I'm impressed. I've got to the point where I rarely make morning arrangements now - too stressful!

memphis it's quite commmon for babies to have ice blocks for hands. Just check his neck to see if he's warm generally.

memphis83 · 08/12/2010 11:56

cakes yes hes warm all over but his hands are terrible, think i find it worse as when he wakes he insists on putting his hands on my neck!!!

Afternoon all! Typing from my desk at work, yet another KIT day. It's nice to escape for a day though and return to semi-normality, and I think DH enjoys spending time with M. Though when I called a short while ago she'd apparently had breakfast, lunch and second lunch as well as guzzling down over half the milk I left already. Hmm Oh well, there's formula he can resort to if necessary!

Anyway, I'm posting mostly to reassure Memphis that M has the same thing with cold hands at night. The rest of her is fine and she doesn't seem to be bothered by it especially when she warms them in the morning down my cleavage.

Now... Lunchbreak! Time to go shopping, child-free! Grin

Chulita · 08/12/2010 13:18

memphis even if their hands are cold they're normally fine, they don't seem to notice. I hate it when S wraps his frozen hands around me while he's feeding - brr!

dh how exciting! can you sneak on fb and let us know a bit more? :)

wss when I went out for the 1st time on Friday S was awake the entire time. He's usually asleep from 6pm but that stayed stayed up til I got back about 11ish!

cake I'm far more a morning person, if we haven't got out in the morning we're unlikely to in the afternoon. DD (sometimes) naps til about 3 anyway so the day's gone by the time she gets up. These days it's less napping and more pratting around her room but as long as she's not crying she can stay there!

tsc hope the antiB's kick in soon so your DD can have a fun birthday.

Envy at child-free shopping

CrimboCakeandRoses · 08/12/2010 13:41

tsc mlic chulita and all with toddlers - does this sound at all odd?

F (2.2yo) is average with colours (sometimes knows them, sometimes says everything is blue Grin) but is p terrible with numbers (keeps trying to count down from 3 Hmm and even when he starts from 1, most of it is nonsense) but is obsessed with letters (he now knows 8 reliably - can say what they are in books and his magnetic letters), he'll literally remember one the 1st or 2nd time i tell him (his other letters are lost hence why only 8 at the mo!). His nursery mentioned the counting down from 3 thing yesterday and when I said he seems more keen on letters and said he'd starting learning them they were Shock

I've always had a bit of an issue with numbers (I passed maths gcse but am kind of dyslexic with numbers in a way - i really struggle to do mental arithmetic or remember new numbers) and love words - do you think he's just taking after me or does this sound a bit weird?

I wasn't at all worried until his keyworker's comments yesterday. I'm still not that worried - they all get there in the end, I just wondered what you thought.

Chulita · 08/12/2010 13:47

Hmm DD is ok with colours, can count up to 3 but more often says 2, 9, 9, 9 so reliably that I've entered it as my pin number several times it's been drummed into me that much Blush She only knows 'y' as a letter but I've not worked on her letters at all cos I'm slack. She turned 2 2ish weeks ago but I'm not bothered, she's still very little and has plenty of time to learn! I wouldn't worry tbh. My nephew is 2.7 and he's only just getting a few numbers down and doesn't know any letters reliably despite my sister's best efforts.

Chulita · 08/12/2010 13:48

And don't pay much attention to key workers, they work off averages and no child is 'average' Grin (disclaimer: if you're a key worker I'm sure you're a lovely person and if I met you you'd never think I'd ever tell anyone to ignore you)

Chulita · 08/12/2010 13:49

Oh, and would they be worried if everytime I write an 'L' or a 'U' and ask Lucy what letter it is she says 'da moooon' ?

CrimboCakeandRoses · 08/12/2010 14:38

Thanks chulita! You're right re keyworkers and 'average' being the norm when really all sorts make up the average. I think I was just a bit concerned that she was so shocked about him knowing the letters (and I mean shocked, she kept questioning me about it saying they don't learn those for ages yet) and the fact she'd brought up about him counting down from 3. He's generally pretty bright (as all parents say about their own!) So I started wondering if it meant something that he was struggling with numbers.

Ok, description of dress on fb in the discussions.

WhatSheSaid · 08/12/2010 19:11

Dh yay for getting the dress.

Yeah, I don't feel too bad this morning about G being up for ages while I was out. Felt a bit emotional about it last night but think it was because I was drunk tired. I fed her 7, she woke 8, so realistically she can't have been that hungry. And she was with her dad so it's not like she was with some random stranger. And it's good for him to see what it's like with a baby, sometimes I think he thinks it's an easy life being a SAHM.

Curry was great, about 15 of us, all mums I know from a playgroup so we were all desperate happy to have a night out. Cake curries are OK in NZ, they're not as popular over here as they are in the UK, no one i know ever goes for one after the pub like I used to when I was a young 'un. The curries are very mild too, the mild ones have barely any spices in and the medium ones are like the mild ones in the UK.

Was great to get out though, got a bit pissed on 2 beers - such a lightweight these days.

Just joined fb group so off to have a look at that now

WhatSheSaid · 08/12/2010 19:41

Hey I just put a couple of photos on the Fb photo page.

It's showed up on my home page as me posting them. But they are private aren;t they? I mean no one outside the group can see them?

MyLifeIsFeelingFestive · 08/12/2010 20:36

Yes WSS you can see it and so can we, but nobody who isn't in the group can see you've posted them. Will go have a look at your pics soon!

Speaking of curry, I've just had one of the nicest curries I've ever had. Had a vegetable bhuna and normally it's just frozen veg chucked in the sauce, but here there was proper veg, and loads of it...mmm deliscious.

cake ds1 can count to ten and can say full sentances (rather than string words together iyswim) but hasn't got a clue about letters. Re colours - perfect example at lunch today: He was given some crayons. He reached for the yellow one and said 'yellow'. Good boy. What colour is this? 'red'. Good boy. What colour is this ? 'Green'. Confused He's a bit hit and miss. They're all different. Please don't worry :)

We went to see Santa today. The carriage ride was great and I really loved it ds1 really loved it. Then we went to see Santa. Not so sucessful. He was scared of him, bless. Can't blame hime, I was thrilled to find out Santa wan't real cos I was terrified of him Xmas Grin

WhatSheSaid · 08/12/2010 20:42

Ah, great, thanks for clarifying that Smile

Trudyla · 09/12/2010 07:40

Hi all

We had a good night! Hurray. She slept from 8:30pm to 6:30am. Unfortunately I was awake most of the night thinking, now she's gonna wake, no, now she's gonna wake whenever she stirred. Oh well, I will have to get used to her sleeping through again.

Where is everyone? Are you all in this mystical FB group chatting away? Right, I will go and join FB now. Deep breath. Everything will be OK, you can do this Trudy.

See ya.
