Shiny new thread, as promised fellow FEBers!

Figured we would start another new one to mark first birthdays, bethlou, so I've held fire on referencing that landmark in this thread title - hope that's okay with y'all!

Anyway, welcome everybody, pull up a comfy chair, someone get the wine out and I'll open a huge box of chocolates for us all to share.

Late night for me! Just because my 2nd cake is in the oven and will be cooked in 15mn! I want my bed....

stoofadoof · 15/12/2010 21:42

mark? night night

oh, and good on you PA

MincePiesForTea · 15/12/2010 22:10

Aah LBH that is so lovely to read Xmas Smile.

I had to open a bottle to put in my chutney (HFW's - watching his programme on Monday made me feel all Christmassy!) and have made the mistake of trying some. It's delicious. Now I'm trying not to have a third glass. Well, they are ony tiny glasses...

No shoes here, but no real need of them either, as DD is still only trying to pull herself up and not succeeding very often. She's certainly a way off walking.

Now I'm going to google heuristic play while she's in bed, and DH is out, and I have precious time to myself.

Night all

AbsB · 15/12/2010 22:22

I've just taken my cake out of the oven too! Banana and walnut... just had a secret slice, well I had to test it! Xmas Grin

I'm back in love with my dogs again, they have been really well behaved over the last couple of days. Pablo now wears a muzzle when we go out into the countryside and they are being pretty obedient so they both get gold stars. DD absolutely adores them, bless her, and bosses them about all the time.

That's good news on the weight LBH, well done! My DD has also just learned to spit food out and she is doing it with everything! Hmm. She has gone from loving all the food she tries, to being quite picky. I now give her the bowl and spoon which seems to keep her interested and she is getting quite good at feeding herself.

Great name PA... hang in there with us, you have been a real trooper, and very glad your DH is being supportive.

Last few nights have been quite good, only one wake up between 3 and 5... I do feel really exhausted though. Can't wait to see DP on the 23rd, I need a break and tbh I could do with a full night's sleep, I haven't had one in over nine months and it's beginning to take it's toll on my coordination. I have poked DD twice in the eye today! Confused

Night night all Smile and sorry I haven't answered all posts... Oh meant to say great article about Pete Doherty BC... I know that was AGES ago..... Bear

AbsB · 15/12/2010 22:24

Cross posted Mincepies... thanks for the port! Your name always makes me hungry! Xmas Grin

Here is a link to the "How to talk" crib sheet that bumperlicious did www.seraphine.com/maternity-clothes-categories/maternity-tops/displayProduct.asp?idproduct=78&idcategory=46&title=Baby+Scan+-+Long+Sleeves%2C+Maternity+Tops

Rubbish night. Up from 2-3.30 and then up for the day at 5.10. DH and I got 4 and a half hours sleep.

Yesterday was nice though. We went to baby gym in the morning and a friend came over in the evening with a bath toy for DS.

BearCrimble · 16/12/2010 07:40

OK that is not the link at all. That is to a maternity top that someone was looking at on another thread.

This should be the link docs.google.com/document/edit?id=1iGHA-j5SZrlY5lLIz8t7MFdoCzWr0kUQ4Xvx9x8PlOU&hl=en&authkey=CPPO8Y8E&pli=1#

InmaculadaConcepcion · 16/12/2010 07:57

Wow, LBH - awesome!!!

Mmmm... Port! One of my fave drinks!

Glad to hear the dogs are behaving themselves, Abs! Sorry to hear about the bad nights though. Not long before you're reunited with DP....

Ditto for your bad night, BC... and cheers for reproducing that link! I saw it in the other thread and thought it was seriously organised. I like the "Playful Parenting" ideas too - really hoping I get both those books from Father Christmas!

Well, third night in a row of only one overnight waking (although another 06.10 start - not ideal, but okay). Is this a new pattern, then?

We're off across Madrid to see our friends (mine and DD's) in a bit, so I'd better get organised so I can co-ordinate the walk with DD's first nap.

Laterz!

Angry at dh for borrowing my car to get stuff from Ikea and then putting the car seats back in but not fastening them. I only noticed dd2's seat wasn't attached to anything when I reached dd1's nursery this morning!! Shock Just as well I did not brake sharply!!

BearCrimble · 16/12/2010 11:43

BG No way! I'd be so angry too.

Abs Nice to hear scroffley dog and his friend are behaving themselves.

GF I would love some of that stollen. With a glass of medium dry Amontillado please.

BearCrimble · 16/12/2010 18:35

Period has returned.

LittlebearH · 16/12/2010 18:41

BC :( Let me guess...heavier than before??

Don't let anyone tell you it affects BF. It doesn't.

BabyGiraffes · 16/12/2010 19:20

Waiting for the snow..... Xmas Grin

LittlebearH · 16/12/2010 19:26

BG you can have ours. Bloody hate it.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 16/12/2010 20:02

Oh blimey, fingers crossed for your flight, PA!

Ah, the return of the curse bc.... Mine was back depressingly fast, despite BF etc. I think it was because I was taking vitamin supplements (having read something about that in Deborah Jackson's Baby Wisdom book). Hope it doesn't throw too many hormonal hoops around you...

We had a lovely day out with our friends - DD was very excited to hang out with another baby. She's gaining in confidence and enthusiasm about the crawling and LOVES pulling herself up to standing now.

She also slept for 1.20mins first nap and 1hr second - which I was relieved about as she'd had another earlyish start.

Thanks watercress!

OP posts:
PenguinArmy · 16/12/2010 20:07

that's some impressive napping IC and awww about the crawling.

I blame my periods for everything (well hormones for everything). Mine came back at 10weeks and I had lochia (sp?) until 6 weeks. I was CHEATED I tell you.

watercress · 16/12/2010 20:29

I've been cheated too PA. My periods have refused to disappear, despite having had a Mirena coil fitted. Pah.

IC my DD2 is also getting more confident with her crawling, and I seem to remember that starting moving can aid napping as it tires them out. But only for a while.

stoofadoof · 16/12/2010 20:32

still, we are of course twins, so i guess that explains it...

stoofadoof · 16/12/2010 20:33

see, that proves it - posting at the same time and everything!
