Hello quiet people,

Am sat here with a nice glass of red, watching the X factor results. Please let Mary or Wagner go tonight.

We have had a lovely weekend. In honour of DH's gran's 90th all his extended family assembled for 48 hours of eating. There were her 9 great grand children (incl my two girls), her 5 grandkids (incl DH) and her 2 kids. Plus lots of spouses. DD2 played the event perfectly and kept hugging her great granda and saying "I luff oo, happy burfday". We didn't really see DD1 as she was off playing with the other kids the whole time.

Watching the event as an only child with no living parents or grandparents I realised how very much I do want a big bustling family around me for the rest of my life. So it pushed me even closer to deciding to go for number 3. I will wait 'til the new year though. We must be moved, I must have finished my CBT course and DD1 must be settled at nursery, before I can risk letting morning sickness strike. I feel excited though!

BTW thanks for the kind words about my therapy. I have actually been enrolled in a trial for curing emetophobia (fear of sickness). They asked me to join as they need people who have the phobia but have no other fears and are not depressed. That is apparently a bit rare so I felt I better say yes. Let's hope it works!

What a mammoth "me" post. Sorry.

I hope you have left work by now Sybs. What you doing there on a Sunday???

And good luck for a better night tonight Vegola. Can you get hold of homeopathic remedies there? If not I can send you some.

Veggiemummy · 07/11/2010 20:36

It's amazing what a bit of sleep can do. Due to getting some sleep and my ankle being pretty much pain free now, I was able to get out for a run. Just a little one, 3.5km in 25 mins but it felt good & my ankle was fine. Will try to do it more often. Since hurting my ankle 2 months ago I've managed to put on 4.5 kg!! So def have to get out running more often.

Seeing 2 more properties tomorrow then going to have a chat to the estate agent dude about what he thinks we should offer on the property we like that we saw for the 2nd time on Friday.

Veggiemummy · 07/11/2010 20:44

Oops missed your post Avo. Thanks but I can get them from the pharmacy across the road. I really should take all of us off to a homeopath here. It's quite normal to see one here. I do miss my lovely homeo in London she was brilliant.

Avo good on you for joining the study, you will be helping many people for years to come.

That party sounds wonderful, & how amazing that one women directly and indirectly produced so many people. From her 2 kids, 14 (15 soon?) were produced.

LadyThompson · 07/11/2010 23:44

Hello fine ladies, I have not fallen down a big hole - Friday got a bit busy then we were off to Shropshire for the weekend to stay with friends. Had a super time but today is the anniversary of DH's death and whilst I can usually feel happy thinking of him, this day is never good. Anyway, off to London for the day tomorrow, with DP - 6 wk check with consultant, registering DD2 and a nice lunch. Haven't kept up properly and looking forward to doing so tomorrow night or Tues but to Avo, babies are such a blessing. DD2 is so scrumptious, and having a little one again is top hole! But the broken nights blow. That's only temporary of course. If you feel you can do it, do it. Besides - one always regrets the things one DIDN'T do, rather than the things one did.

Love to you all. I am tired and sad and will bid you goodnight. I will be chipper when I return (but probably still tired Grin) as an aside, does everyone have really tantrum-y toddlers? DD1 has been abominable this weekend.

Veggiemummy · 08/11/2010 09:01

Thinking of you Lady. As much as you think of the positives of your life together that day will always be a constant reminder of that very devastating negative.

I'm not even going to talk about my night. Lady DS2 is being a bit more challenging and Im def getting a bit more yelly. In general though as long as I don't take him out tired and always have a lollipop snack with me its ok.

Rubena · 08/11/2010 10:28

Hi all,
Lady I hope you get through the day without too much sadness. It must be hard but hopefully you can focus on your beautiful girls to get you through.
More in a bit - wow- quiet on here these days!

spotofcheerfulness · 08/11/2010 11:00

Hey folks,
Quickie from me, just to say that Lady you are an amazing support to us all and I hope you are getting some RL support too and are able to talk about happier times with friends who knew him and will look after you well.
I hope you are able to enjoy your lunch today and that the check is all ok.

Veg I've just gone out and bought some pulsatilla on your rec, our wonderful run of unbroken nights is over thanks to those pesky little gnashers so will be trying whatever I can get my hands on!
Sounds exciting about the house, is the market in the same state as it is here? If so, I'd offer low - we're already regretting going for the offer we did as think if we'd played hardball they'd have caved in eventually.

My sinusitis has got worse and doc has given me some antibiotics, hurrah! He has also referred me for a scan at the host as he was a bit concerned with the bleeding I had last week, even though it's stopped.

Avo that's v exciting about TTCing no. 3. I think you're bonkers, but only in the best possible way Grin. Any house news?

Glad Treyc went out, not just because of her stupid name, but also you could see none of the judges liked her despite the good voice, and it was just like seeing a puppy getting kicked each week. Please let Mary go next and go back to prisoner cell block H Tesco for her own sake.

Beans33 · 08/11/2010 11:19

Hey all. How are you doing? Been in Cumbria for the weekend, so have been offline!

All ok here. Heating and hot water broken, which is most frustrating - AGAIN! DD2 has flu, so is tucked up in bed with a heater and a blanket. She does have a bit of a temp, so not sure whether I should be letting her be cold? Also, she has only been awake for 10 mins today, when I gave her some breast milk, then popped her back to bed. That was at 8.45, but has been asleep since. Should I be waking her up to give her a bit of food every now and again? I have also given her calpol. Plus have got some cooled boiled water for her to drink. DD1 is being a bit of a starand being v patient with our indoor day, but DD2 really isn't well enough to go outside, even if all wrapped up. Poor little bird. She is desperately sucking her thumb. I just want to love her better.

I am off to doc tomorrow to have my coil removed as have been bleeding for 8 weeks now and it's not entirely comfortable during sex. And while I'm there will get DD2 looked at. She's v coughy and her little cries are so hoarse. It breaks my heart.

Dear GOD it's freezing. When we got back from our weekend away, loads of the food in the freezer had gone off because the electrics had tripped, even though an electrician had been on Friday to mend it all. So bloody frustrating! My hands are so cold trying to type this - I need my gloves on. DD1 wrapped up in lots of clothes, but need the heater in DD2's room!

Rubena · 08/11/2010 11:19

Sorry about all the teething issues / grumpy toddlers. After weeks and weeks of that, I have to say I think ds has got most of his teeth through (well the one's that were bothering him recently) as he has really changed this past couple of weeks. dh took him swimming 2 weeks back and said he was brilliant, and I didn't believe it until I took him myself on Sat. He was LOVING it - best in the class I reckon. All week he has been such a different child even when we are out and about. Just really lovely and I'm sure it's because he's not in any pain with these teeth (or sick with a cold) He's even letting me hold his hand and not use reins etc and he's being good, so there is a light at the end ladies! I did get him one of those wrist strap things for busy places which he likes much better than his back pack reins.
We went shopping with mil on Sat and she bought ds some news shoes (slight tantrum) and some slippers. He's a size 6 now Shock
Spent hours at Ikea yesterday - it was madness there and both kids were so patient and so good!

I have switched loads of furniture around at home (mainly due to trying to avoid the dining table dumping ground / storage factor) and I must say it's weird. We are doing the more English style thing and I can't quite get used to the separate room situation, but the Telly has not been moved yet (tonight yay) so it's a bit strange and not pleasing myself or ds at the moment! Blush We are thinking of getting a wood burner but can't decided between that or having an open fire but safer with the kiddies I think.

Avo glad you have decided what to do about a 3rd Grin

How many of us who have or soon will have 2 are planning a 3rd someday? Is it just Lady Vag and I who aren't? Deids?
Right this has taken ages to type in between kiddies so must post.

Beans33 · 08/11/2010 11:24

PS I hung up then without posting loads of hugs and love to Lady - I hope you're ok. Am thinking of you.

And Veggie - I so hope your nights get better soon. V hard and I don't have any advice, I'm afraid!

And Avo - great plan for DC3- we're in process of deciding on that at moment, although we have a year or two to make up our minds!

Sorry not to do more personals, am trying to entertain DD1 in the freezingness! Ring a ring a roses a hot fave!

xx

Rubena · 08/11/2010 11:26

Xed with you two.
I agre Spot - about TrayC what a stupid way to spell her name! Get this - there are officially a few people now in the US who have registered babies called La-a claiming it's pronounced "La dasha" and that the dash (hyphen) in silent! Give me strength! Hope the pulsatilla helps him Spot.

Beans sorry about your heating issues, we have a heating problem here in that they aren't balanced but at least we have heat. I can't get the kids rooms the right temps at the same time and one room will be frozen, the other boiling. Just had a plumber around who was useless but hopefully will get thermostats put on the radiators and it will fix the problem. Right now half the radiators are seized up and you need pliers to adjust them - handy.
I can't wait to use the fireplace. Do any of you have open fires with the little one's about?

Rubena · 08/11/2010 11:37

crossed with you again Beans - ooh so you may be on the list as planning a 3rd!! Wow. My brother says it's lovely as do a lot of you on here with 3, but for me, I can't help feeling I don't give the 2 of them enough attention each, and I'm a constant worrier about them both. Guess you'd get over that though!

spotofcheerfulness · 08/11/2010 12:01

no third for me here, I'm already trying to persuade DP to get the snip and DC2 hasn't even been born yet!

BEans, poor you with that dodgy heating system and a poorly DD2 Sad. You sound in remarkably good spirits, considering. Have you tried the hokey cokey? It's a firm fave with T and might help warm up a bit

Rubes, you give me hope post teething! Where are you going to put the telly? Have you switched your two front rooms around?

Rubena · 08/11/2010 12:13

Spot yeah, we weren't using the dining table at all and the other day I looked in and say it had turned into a total bike locker / shed / storage room. There were pedals and wheels and crap all over the place and piles and piles of dh's work stuff that needed filing so we went to Ikea and got a few more storage things and now have the lounge etc in the front room as there is also a fireplace that we want to use. It's a slightly smaller room and I can't get used to living in such separate rooms but we are already making use of the dining table as we should! dh had to order some hdmi cable to move the telly which just arrived so we can move it tonight Grin we have so many tv's in this house [addict] that no doubt one will go back in the same place the main one will move from Blush (just in case we eat late and x factor has started! Grin) but not for ds's viewing of Cbeebies while dining Hmm
Seriously - I'm assuming his mood swing is due to no more teething pain - but don't know, could even been he's more settled with dd being here - I suspect it's the former though so hang in there!!!

Rubena · 08/11/2010 12:18

Grin at your snip talk pre dd2 birth spot! yes dh and I are both in agreement too. I worry already about dh spending enough time with the two of them with all he works Sad Our parenting would be spread way too thin with 3. I feel like I have 3 with the dog already. Her and ds already fight and cause havoc together Grin

Rubena · 08/11/2010 12:18

oh I meant ds2 spot not dd!

EffiePerine · 08/11/2010 12:18

Beans: that is rubbish, get on to your landlord and point out that you have a sick baby and a toddler and this all needs to be sorted NOW. Being without heat is not acceptable in this weather. Can you decamp to your mum's for a bit, I think she's fairly local?

DeidreBarlow · 08/11/2010 12:25

Rubes No #3 here either...DH has been snipped!!!

beans Poor DD2 & no heating..thats rough. How long till its fixed? Ours biler broke last winter the day before temps plumeted to minus figures. It was rubbish!

spot Hope T improves onthe teeth front. DS been a right PITA this weekend, he is defo getting a couple of teeth through though.

What a farce X Factor was last night! Firstly, I can't believe I care that much. Also is it just me or is Cheryl Cole just a complete arse this series?? She is really annoying me. Oh and the wonderful Kylie...those Laboutins were beautiful, even if she did nearly fall in them.

DS was fab at toddlers this morning and never attacked anyoneSmile.

Am also on my Xmas quest to shed a few pounds. The weather has been quite miserable lately so I've not really been running. Am trying to cut the carbs for a few weeks...it'll be tough. Oh and has anyone tried Zumba as exercise? Looks good and I figure I could get a DVD and do it at home when the weathers bad. DS could join in Grin

Rubena · 08/11/2010 13:20

Oh that's right Deids! Hmmm wonder what we'll do. Prob destined to take pill forever!
Hope coil removal went well Beans. I'm not keen on them as my friend kept getting major infections with it. It works for Sybs I think? Kylie's shoe's WERE FAB!!!
My friend's friend does Zumba - says it's brilliant. I need to do pilates for my shoulder / posture apparently. Must find class.
Starch down Deids, at least in the PM - it's the way forward. Wine is allowed though (it's the Rubena diet Grin)

Gosh I'm struggling with this weather. Luckily I've got filing to do [bored]

I've just bought a table runner!! Lord above what have I turned in to! I'm really going with this whole dining table / eating as a family experience aren't I! But a table runner? Seriously, who do I think I am?Confused I need a sunny day.

DeidreBarlow · 08/11/2010 13:27

Isn't Kiwi's DD having her liver test today? Hope its going okay.

lady I forgot to say that I hope yesterday passed as well as it could. You are such a wonderful woman, I hope you got some time to relect on the wonderful time you had together. And have a wonderful lunch today Smile

Rubes I spent ages last Xmas looking for the right table runner. DH thought I had lost the plot. I really like them and think they make the table look good.

Too much rain here, DS fast asleep on the sofa, snoring away. I'm watching Biggest Loser on Sky (and MN-ing!)

EffiePerine · 08/11/2010 13:42

No table runners here, but I have just bought a (whisper) spinning wheel off eBay. I will be a mad old woman surrounded by piles of wool before too long.

Rubena · 08/11/2010 14:01

A spinning wheel!? Hmm how funny but good on you Effie. loving the eBay usage! Oh and I meant to say - I saw your little snippet on the grid the other night! I yelled at the TV - "There's Effie" dh was like "who?"

Oh yes Deids, I must get a X-massy one too. I just got a regular one to match our placemats. I'm new at this table runner buying lark.

Right ds in bed and dd now awake Confused but she seems content watching me type.... for now Hmm better go play with her.

Veggiemummy · 08/11/2010 14:12

A spinning wheel? What for spinning wool.

Rubes I think a table runner is a good idea. I wonder if I want one.

Spot good luck with the pulsatilla I'm gonna POP across the road in a.bit and get some.

We saw two more places today one no but the other is ok so a possibility if the other place we want to offer on falls through. Our estate agent is going to call us this afternoon with his analysis of what we should offer. Hes thinking go real low but he wants to be very sure of its worth.

Rubena · 08/11/2010 14:31

I'm such a dork. I've just emailed the table runner shop lady twice now. I realised my table is bigger than I thought (decided to measure rather than just guess after I purchased) luckily she does them made to measure, and dh said he hates the pointy ones with the tassles so I got the suare ends, and then I didn't know how far it should overhang!!! I reckon about a foot. I'm so new at this table runnering...
Vagola you should def get one Grin

Rubena · 08/11/2010 14:33

Perhaps I should consult the table runner experts herself aka deids. deids if my table is 7'7 long, how long should the runner be? I've emailed the lady and asked what she advises also but thought I'd see what you lovely table runner expert ladies think?
