SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 27/01/2011 13:11

Happy birthday floozie!! I hope you have a fab day :)

Tyson Shock I hope everything works out for you.

I have a toddler for loan today. If he can be returned nice mannered and calm rather than the whirlwind he has been today it would be appreciated Grin.Any takers?!!!!

TimeForABrew · 27/01/2011 14:10

Missed loads! Happy birthday floozie!, Tyson, yikes, what seashells said, nymph, I feel like that too when bf-ing, which isn't often, I think of myself as a seed potato!
seashells, does the toddler for loan come with chocolate?

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 27/01/2011 14:33

Toddler comes with chocolate AND wine

Im now letting him watch far too much tv as I'm shattered and he is quiet whilst dd is feeding. I'll pay for this tonight when he is up at 1!!

nymphadora · 27/01/2011 17:08

Settee, tesco, settee, washing, settee, settee,settee,settee....

LadyHermyaDeTamble · 27/01/2011 17:48

Me and DS went to a baby music taster class today. Although I expect older children quite enjoy it and so did DS to some extent, the cynical side of me was whispering in my head 'he's thirteen weeks old and you've got him at a music class where you're doing the majority of the work, he really doesn't actually care'.

NoHunIntended · 27/01/2011 18:05

Happy Birthday Floozie!!!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 27/01/2011 18:32

Hermya-see if your sure start centre do
Music classes for free-I always feel less of a twonk knowing I've not shelled out £££ to sit and sing "wind the bobbin up" whilst Ds or dd sleeps Hmm Grin
or baby swimming classes-30mins either side of screaming baby trying to get dressed and bf, then miss half the class...we now go as a family and dh swims with ds whilst dd and I cuddle and feed inthe cafe. Much more civilised!!

NoHunIntended · 27/01/2011 19:42

Sea (and anyone, really!), I am taking DS along to my gym's pool when I re-start in February - am just looking at baby swim nappies etc - any advice? I like www.splashabout.net/catalog.php?language=en&category=1&id=62 and www.splashabout.net/catalog.php?language=en&category=1&id=120 but for how fast DS is growing, i.e. will need to buy the next size after a few months, it seems £££££. But if they are only in a little swim nappy, I think he'll be cold, and won't stay in the pool long.

tiredfeet · 27/01/2011 19:43

Happy birthday floozie! Hope you had a nice day

hermya yes me and ds are going to one tomorrow and I sort of feel the samew about it, but it gets us out of the house and doing something different so on balance its worth it. Definitely prefer the free sure start stuff though, meant it didn't matter too much when ds hated baby massage.

Dh is reading ds winnie the pooh books for his bedtime story, ds just looks around the room mainly but we are enjoying it Grin

LadyHermyaDeTamble · 27/01/2011 20:36

DS is down, I think he's starting to realise that I leave him in the bedroom on his own. I've had to sit beside the crib tonight as he went off to stop him me crying .

Thinking back, I think the fact that I didn't think too much of the music class was that the teacher had scarfs that she kept wafting around. I think it reminded me of my old dance teacher at Uni who had a scarf that she wafted around the room whenever she taught us. She would flit around the studio talking about energy and exploring the concept of play. I never too her seriously. I should have known then that I wasn't really cut out for the arts world.

I think I'm going to look for a free one, then at least I won't feel bad about missing one when I can't be bothered.

Nymph How goes the training for the settee surfing championships?

Nohun Have you been to the pool since you left to test out warmthness? Also babykind have an offer on Motherease Swim nappies at the moment.

nymphadora · 27/01/2011 20:51

Hun & anyone else we have a baby swimming costume that's neoprene & Velcro so warm & v easy to take on & off. Not been used yet so prob going to work out £££ for number of uses but should have been more if it wasnt for colds

Tonights been
Settee, poo, settee, poo, settee, tea, poo, tea, sick, tea, poo, tea, bath, settee. Been here since 7 now but she almost fell off me earlier & I hurt her when I caught hold so can't bear to put her down. She's had a good feed & no obvious marks now just feeling awful

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 27/01/2011 20:59

Nohun- we just use little swimmers disposable ones (from supermarket) as Ds did grow through the sizes pretty quickly. He wears an all in one factor 50 swim suit (he is very fair) or cool Bermuda type shorts. We are likely to just sea swim this summer so will use fewer nappies.

It's fun though! Ds loved it last year :)

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 27/01/2011 21:06

Re all in one neoprene suits they look great! They tend to be pretty baggy though initially (from what I've seen of friends') so not quite wetsuit!! We never got one but I'm tempted again this summer, especially if it's not so tropical this year!!

nymphadora · 27/01/2011 21:55

One e have for dd3 is Velcro so tightens up etc not tried it yet though.also means it's off quickly

dontstopmenow · 27/01/2011 21:58

Happy Birthday Floozie Hope you had fun!

Nymph I too am entering the sat on settee olympics. Feel like butt is spreading as I type (you know what I mean)!

tiredfeet · 27/01/2011 22:07

Am also firmly glued to the sofa by ds's appetite. Plus he gets distracted by the tv or me talking so we are upstairs, in his bedroom, in the dark. Am so grateful for mobile internet and that dh can do work in the evening and take time off in the day, otherwise we would hardly see each other!

Anyone else thinking about the fact its about a year since they found out they were pregnant? I found out a year ago this monday coming, which is also our 2nd wedding anniversary Smile.

NoHunIntended · 27/01/2011 22:29

Thanks re swimwear advice. Think I'll bite the bullet and fork out the cash, even if they don't get loads of wear. Any links to the velcro ones please?
Have just packed away DS's birth-three months outfits. They grow so fast!

And tf, yes - totally been thinking about this time last year!!! Had just got back from honeymoon, was so hoping!!! Didn't test til 7th Feb though, as I didn't want to be disappointed.

sam12 · 27/01/2011 23:19

Dd still doesn't fit into a lot of her 0-3 month old clothes and still wears some newborn ones. Her weight is fine so I think we must have a munchkin! She has loads of cute outfits that have been hanging there for ages waiting for her to grow into them.
I found out I was pregnant on the anniversary of my mum dying which was quite symbolic as she loved kids and couldn't wait for me to have some.

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 28/01/2011 00:19

My dd is still in 0-3 and was born on oct 1st but was only little then. This time last year was an amazing but emotional time for dh and I. I had just had a mc xmas - new year, went away on the 9th jan (wedding anniversary) and then 39 weeks later a little Sophie. So much can happen in a year Grin

ILoveGregoryHouse · 28/01/2011 06:06

Dd also just into her 0-3 month stuff at 12 weeks old. She's 10lb 2oz now so out of the new born. I reckon on getting another 6 to 8 weeks out of her 0-3.

elsa i agree about the amby. It's great and dd sleeps well with minimal chucking. Have had to put an activity spiral on the crossbar though to stop me bashing her head on it.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 28/01/2011 07:42

This time last year was such a time of new starts - relocation, new jobs, my sight recovering and then that positive result after a mc in oct...I knew the night we conceived that we had (even though completely early in cycle)...andnlast year lived up to all our hopes! Such a very very good year :)

Ilgh-good to see you again! How is it going?

nymphadora · 28/01/2011 08:51

We had scrap year apart from dd3. Spent most of the year worrying about dh job.
Started the year being told I wasn't ovulating & dh sperm was being tested. He went for a second test on the day I found out I was pg Grin ( he went before I knew, I wasn't that cruel)
Jobbproblems started a couple of weeks before that. Then I kept being ill & loads of problems selling the flat. Things got better in September when dh left his job & then dd3 was born.
This is the year of a fresh start for dh job wise & we are both working to live rather then living to work. Last year taught us that.

nymphadora · 28/01/2011 08:52

Only up once last night but picked dd3 up & put my hand in a v large pile of snot so the cold is back :(
