Everywhere I go atm is weaning. The tesco baby club mag was full of vouchers for 4m+ jars. I didn't realisethey still did 4 m stuff. My friend texeed that she is weaning early& I had to be polite as although disagree she is intelligent & will have reasons for it.

Elsa123 · 15/01/2011 18:44

I know what you mean Nymph what I wonder about is this weaning at 4 mths thing vs 4 mth sleep regression and if its linked to hunger.

SilverSky · 15/01/2011 19:44

Marking my place again lovely October mums!!

Ds is well, nearly 11wks and nearly 15lbs (my back is killing!). My change bag is heavy and doesn't help. Any suggestions?

Ds has started to fuss, yank and scratch and pull on the left boob. It's my smaller one and when I express from it, it takes ages to fill a 5oz bottle whereas my right takes 20mins to fill the same bottle. Again any thoughts!?

I'm trying to eat more healthily but still maintain the extra 500cals tho now I am worried this could be affecting my milk or am I talking shite?

Our bedtime routine is:
6-630 bath (not every night)
then moisturise all over if bathed
if no bath, moisturise face
PJs
if no bath, nursery rhymes book
top up feed
7-730 swaddle and put down often awake in Moses (he's still in our room)

Wrt weaning we'll wait for Ds to give off signals but I have no issue with waiting til 6mo, ESP as we have allergies in our history.

Sorry for no name checks!!!

nymphadora · 15/01/2011 19:52

Re diet etc my understanding is that your body will prioritise the baby so baby gets first dibs on calories, vitamins etc so if you cut back as long as it's balanced baby will be fine!

SilverSky · 15/01/2011 19:55

Thanks nymph that's reassuring. I was beginning to wonder.

Will cruise the feeding boards for advice on the fussing or we'll be off to the bf clinic to flash my boobs at strangers to get some help!

HermyaLovesLysander · 15/01/2011 21:17

Sam Good for you!!

Nymph Is this why I'm feeling a bit run down and tired? I'm practically back to eating what I was before I was pregnant (plus the odd extra biscuit). I think I'm going to go eat a sandwich now.

Are any of you taking vitimins? If so what are you taking?

nymphadora · 15/01/2011 21:35

I carriedon the pregnacare til I finished rhem but nothing atm.
Hermya- think that's a way to lose weight if that's what you were planning! I'm eating same as pg but that was too much and I'm still not doing any exercise. how's the rain where you are? Twitter reporting flood warnings all over

Having trouble with my hips/ knee again today. Dh had to shop on his own :(

HermyaLovesLysander · 15/01/2011 21:57

Nymph It's still raining here, we haven't been out of the house tbh as it just looked so miserable. I didn't want to loose lots of weight, just enough to get back to pre pregnancy weight. To be honest, I've just gone with my appetite.

TimeForABrew · 15/01/2011 22:26

Feel so stupid, I can't work out how to unfold the stroller Blush, it is an arcane art, its mysteries buried in the midst of time. Will have to endure eye rolling and exasperation from DH when he comes in - this is why I use the travel system, but it's too chunky to fit nicely in the boot so I need to work out the stroller.

Need to get DD a passport! Getting an acceptable photo will be fun.

nymph, hope your knees/hips better?

SilverSky · 16/01/2011 07:26

n since my cs I have noticed a lot of aches and pains in my knees. Mine I think is cos I've not used my stomach muscles for such a long time cos of being pregnant that I've been compensating by using my knees. Not sure how to go about improving them ! Also think it's now become a bit of a habit and cos of the pain I was in after my cs (they didn't give me any pain relief for 36hrs after the procedure) that I avoided using my tummy muscles so as to avoid / minimise pain. Not sure I know how to use them anymore! Which is a bit of a concern tbh.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 16/01/2011 10:25

No pain relief for 36 hours! Wtf?

Need to start exercising, i've just ordered the davina mccall post natal workout from amazon. Expect i will lost two stones in a couple of weeks. Arf. Grin

Seriously though, there should be lots of core/tummy work in there which will help.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 16/01/2011 10:27

hermya Genni's paediatrician advised me to take D3 and calcium, esp in the winter.

SilverSky · 16/01/2011 11:44

house yep - they forgot!!! Was only when I asked for some cos I was crawling the Walls that they checked my notes and discovered their cock up. Very apologetic so they were but apologies don't take away the fact that it should never have happened.

HermyaLovesLysander · 16/01/2011 14:32

Silver They didn't give you any pain relief!! Thats terrible.

ILGH Thanks for that.

Nymph Hows the rain near you?

nymphadora · 16/01/2011 14:49

Weve not had much rain. Xh took kids to theatre by the lake at Keswick last night & he said it was dodgy up there.

Just been tidying the loft. Hadn't been in it for a year & was reliant on dh putting stuff up & down. I'll be supervising in future. Gained masses of space & loads of clothes for dd3& dd2. Washing pile huge now!

TimeForABrew · 16/01/2011 15:00

Silver Shock horrendous!

Elsa123 · 16/01/2011 15:38

Silver How horrible for you- I can't imagine 36 hours with no pain relief after my delivery.

Well done with your loft Nymph very proactive of you.

Hermya I too am shattered and blame breastfeeding! I get the same sleep as DH and feel soo tired. I had an extra 45 mins this morning which felt nice. I'm sure DH is sick of asking me if I'm ok only for the answer always to be fine I'm just tired.

DH said last night he's quite happy with just one DC and with the damage I've sustained I've been thinking the same. But now we've both said it I feel pretty sad. DH said today that if we had another I'd need to be pg in the next 2 years, no longer as he's 42 now and doesn't want a child to have parents who are too old. I still feel sick thinking about the labour and delivery and am suffering downstairs too which is incredibly depressing so doing that to myself in less than 2 years frightens me, but not doing it saddens me. Confused. I suppose it doesn't help feeling all loved up with DD and whilst I'm excited to see her grow up, its sad to see the tiny cute baby get bigger Grin.

nymphadora · 16/01/2011 16:49

That's the bitter sweet thing elsa

SilverSky · 16/01/2011 17:23

Elsa I want to enjoy Ds as an only child for awhile but I am also aware I ain't getting any younger soi imagine two years and we will have to start TTC assuming we can have more children.

Ladies with one DC, we think we are tired now imagine if we have another AND a toddler!!

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 16/01/2011 18:04

Evening all!

Silver Shock at no pain relief owwwwwww

Nymph-well done on the loft, I hope you and Hermya don't get washed away in the floods today!

Ilgh-exercise video sounds good :)

Dd has taken to blowing raspberries with a mouth full of milk then grinning Grin

SilverSky · 16/01/2011 19:20

sea sounds messy but adorable!

HermyaLovesLysander · 16/01/2011 19:27

Silver I do wonder about that at times, but I often think that the insanity is only for so long......or is this a kind of blissful naivity talking?

DS seems to be on a feeding frenzy at the moment, he's taken to being fed every one to two hours and is then on me from anything from twenty minutes to an hour. Oh well.

nymphadora · 16/01/2011 19:29

Insanity is permanent but you don't noticeaftet a while.

HermyaLovesLysander · 16/01/2011 19:33

nymph Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! Grin

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 16/01/2011 21:47
