We are good-dd has been fantastic and loved by everyone! Ds has loved his presents and been very good considering, BUT I think chocolate sends him v hyper so will need to be banned and he discovered he can take his nappy off and throw it out his room in protest Hmm Grin oh the joys of toddlers...

nymphadora · 27/12/2010 07:09

Grin at nappy throwing, dd2 used to hide hers Hmm

Not a bad nights sleep. 8:30 3:30 &6:45 so fairly civilised but woke up to more snow & dh has finally succumbed to the cold :( dd3 lot better so anti bs must be doing their job and my cough is lingering but feeling ok apart from that so dh should have space to rest a bit today.

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 27/12/2010 09:19

We've had a very good Christmas here, DS was declared a very cute baby and I was told that he was 'good' as well.

Only problem is that DS really did not react well to being around so many people, he's gone to bed screaming the past two days. He would be settling on DH and GNIL took him off of DH and unsettled him. Cue one very bad night for me and DH. Oh well.

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 27/12/2010 11:10

Anyway now that no one is looking over my shoulder, I just thought I would share a few moments of Christmas hilarity that we've had the past few days.

These include getting one of those wall calendars that you get in the Chinese takeaway as a Christmas present. MIL getting a sewing kit for me and SIL, the look on my SILs face was very funny and the cracker of them all was my Nan asking me if we had pound shops 'up there because it's not like round here is it'. My Nan is under the impression that I live in a field in the middle of nowhere and I have to hunt my tea each night using a bucket and a spear.

Well I laughed anyway. [frgin]

nymphadora · 27/12/2010 14:47

Lol. When bil came north for our wedding he asked if we had cash machines or a Natwest!

So funny listening to dh on phone to (childless) Bil last night. Totally baby bore & going on & on & on & on even made them speak to dd3. They have no idea about children & bil shows no interest but dh is so proud & is going to make them Grin

Elsa123 · 27/12/2010 18:58

Hello everyone! Merry belated Christmas. Hermya I know what you mean about pass the baby. Earlier my DD actually got taken off me by my grandmother! On Christmas Eve DD did not sleep from 1330-2300 because of the excitement of visitors. On Christmas Day she whinged all morning and when my DH told his DM that we were struggling to get her to nap in the day we wee informed that babies don't sleep all day and she needed some awake time....Xmas Hmm. Anyway, MIL and StepFIL rang last night and cancelled their plans to come over as there's a chance of snow and they won't risk coming over. So we've had a day free and bought DD a baby gym. She's currently in her vibrating bouncy chair enjoying herself.

LOL at your dH Nymph Xmas Grin.

shieldbug · 28/12/2010 09:38

Happy belated Christmas everybody! I hardly seem to find the time to go online at the moment. Whenever ds is asleep I feel I should be trying to do housework, although that's obviously not going too well as dh ran out of pants yesterday and had to use swimming trunks Grin

The latest news from baby bug is that he sleeps for 7 hours in the night now. I was worried that he might be teething because he chews on everything he can and drools lots. He also screams randomly in pain (just once or twice) and then quietens down again, so I thought maybe his teeth were giving him twinges. I read elsas comments about drool, so perhaps that isn't a sign of teething after all. What do you all reckon?

We had awesome snow over Christmas but also temperatures of -12 during the day so ds and I weren't able to go out much (I don't drive). I'm about to go to Belfast today to try to get the last of my presents today for relatives I will be visiting later in the week (we are travelling across to England with a 7 hour ferry journey- wish us luck!)

nymph so pleased to hear the mole was ok. hope you are feeling better from your sickness.

nymphadora · 28/12/2010 10:12

8 1/2 hours last night! But I was still up coughing :( dd1 still going dd2 ok dd3 almost there & dh ROUGH! First time he has been ill since we've been together so not bad for 4 1/2 years. I on the other hand have been ill about 3 of it!

sam12 · 28/12/2010 10:12

Hi everyone. I am currently putting off cleaning- the house is a total mess but at least our first Christmas as hosts went well.
We too had pass the baby going on so I took dd to my dads for some peace whilst we got dinner sorted and for when Dh's family arrived so she wasn't overwhelmed as they fuss her that much she gets upset. They weren't happy when they arrived and she wasn't here but it gave them time to open their presents. Fil cried he was so happy with his so I was very pleased with myself. I put dd in bed whilst we ate and she slept all the way through which was perfect timing despite the fact people kept disappearing. When I asked fil where people kept going he said to check on dd as I'd left her on her own for ages. Xmas Angry it was an hour tops and I had the monitor on and I put her in our bedroom as I didn't think they'd have the cheek to go in there.

sam12 · 28/12/2010 10:19

Other than that we had a great time.
Dd has discovered her thumb and it looks like we are going to have a little thumb sucker as it's forever in her mouth. She also got a baby gym for Christmas which she loves.
nymph hope everyone gets better in your house soon. shield I was wondering the same about dd but it's been going on a while now and no sign of teeth so I think elsa is right.
Hope everyone else is doing well and the reason it's gone so quiet on here is because you are all off having festive fun Xmas Grin

tiredfeet · 28/12/2010 15:36

sheild I love the swimming trunks story!!

We are still at the in laws and mil is looking after me nicely after dh told her how upset bil and sil had made me with their comments.

Ssshhh don't tell the health visitor but we just took ds sledging Xmas Grin he seemed to enjoy it luckily!

Also getting 7 hours a night here, downside is my boobs are so full when I wake up that ds can find it hard to feed. But worth it for the good sleep!

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 28/12/2010 22:22

Tired Oh wow sledging, I bet that was great fun!!

Sam DS keeps chomping on his hands, the thing is he can't decided which he'd rather chomp on so he tends to try and get both in there.

Well still at the in laws, although the visiting has died down now. In laws have actually gone out for the evening so we have the house to ourselves. It's so nice to have a large comfy living room that isn't filled with baby stuff to chill out in.

Elsa123 · 29/12/2010 12:51

I think that as everyone's babies seem to be drooling and hand chomping its normal and not early teething unless we've all got early teethers! Nymph I'm glad your DD3 is on the road to recovery and you're getting back to normal sleeps.

We're doing well, DD has been consistently sleeping through the night for 3 weeks now. Even better is she's up for a feed in the morning and has a 3 hour nap til lunchtime enabling me to get stuff done! She is getting uncomfortable in her harness though. The physio is visiting tomorrow and I can't wait as it will be adjusted.

tiredfeet sledging sounds fab!

Meanbeansmum · 29/12/2010 15:35

Hi, Merry Christmas! Sophia is at on my lap holding her head up trying to sabotage my post lol!

I hope you've all had a lovely christmas. I promise to catch up in the new year, I didn't know about this thread. xxx

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 29/12/2010 15:42

There was a link in one of the last posts-sorry you missed it an glad you found us! LO sounds like she is doing well Grin

Elsa123 · 29/12/2010 16:51

Perhaps some of you may not be fans of children watching TV but....Mary Poppins is on and DD is loving it. She's in her bouncy chair watching and shouting along. She wasn't interested in helping me clear out the cupboards...

nymphadora · 29/12/2010 16:56

Dd3 enjoyed family guy & Up this week . Large cartoon birds go down well Confused

tiredfeet · 29/12/2010 18:49

elsa by a strange coincidence ds seems to enjoy watching whatever I want to watch...

nymphadora · 29/12/2010 19:42

15 nappies & 3 changes of clothes for me. Poor dd3 hoping it's the affects of the anti bs but if it's the same tomorrow am phoning Hv to ask advice. She's not dehydrated but nothing can be sticking inside her :(

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 29/12/2010 21:26

I was very ill yesterday, went to town today and found every pot hole and this evening car broke down and whilst broken down a white van hit my cars behind, got out my car ready to punch man and dh held me back, more angry as my kids were in the car and my hazards were on... Think im going bed now!!!

Dd's jabs tomorrow.:(

nymphadora · 29/12/2010 21:57

Oh Tyson what a shit day. I'd have been like that with White van man too.

We got dds injection letter through for next week. If she is better.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 30/12/2010 07:07

tiredfeet my dd too! She just loves CSI and Poirot. Who knew?

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 30/12/2010 08:38

Tyson Oh thats rubbish, I hope you're all ok. White van men really don't pay attention to the roads, I have the theory that as soon as they enter the van they enter into a different world of their own making where it's ok to straddle the white lines.

Nymph Are you all feeling better yet?

DS seems to enjoy the Star Trek movie and Road Wars (I think he likes the blue lights), family guy also gets a look in as well.

Elsa123 · 30/12/2010 10:49

Sorry to hear about the accident Tyson. Well done for not hitting the driver!

It does sound like the effects of antibiotics Nymph as they destroy good gut bacteria too. Hopefully your DD will pick up soon.

I'm glad there are some other TV watchers! DD watched Nigella Kitchen with me the other day and we'd recorded all of Any Other Heart too which she watched...apart from the rude bits...

nymphadora · 30/12/2010 13:05

Ive not been coughing so much now but hips aching again. V tempted to get my crutches back again Blush
Fingers crossed dd3 is back to normal today. Only normal nappies so far. She did throw up over her playmat though so it's now on the radiator. Took her in the shower with me this am & she loved it.
