really nymph?! What type of shower do you have, an overhead from the ceiling one or one mounted to the wall on a hose? DD loving her baths and is outgrowing her baby bath.

nymphadora · 30/12/2010 16:03

It's in a cubicle on the wall. Double sized cubicle so plenty of room. Dd3 is same length as her bath now. Quite likes the big one but it's a lot of water for her!

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 30/12/2010 21:14

Elsa Nymph Have you heard of the bath dam at all, it might be worth looking at if you don't want to use the whole bath for your LO's.

Well DS has been properly spoiled whilst we've been with the in laws. He was talked to the whole time and we got back home and within five minutes of us wondering off to sort stuff out in the house, DS was shouting at us to come and talk to him. I'm going to have to start narrating my days ala scrubs Grin.

It's been a bit of an odd one the past few days, me and DH have been speaking a lot about childcare and the like as ringing the childminder made me confront the reality that at some point I will have to leave DS. Just the thought of it makes me want to cry tbh. I know thats a normal reaction, but it made me start thinking about the possibilitys of staying at home with him. In reality I won't be able to do it yet as I have to return to work to compleate a batch of training. But it's an option I had never considered in all seriousness before. I think I would like to at some point, but its if that point comes sooner rather than later.

nymphadora · 30/12/2010 23:35

Have a corner bath so that's not an option

Know what you mean about staying at home though. I'd love to but money is an issue!just trying to stay offas long as poss then work p/t

ILoveGregoryHouse · 31/12/2010 04:54

Hi. tyson sorry about the van man. Hope all okay now.

Our big news is that we may be returning to the UK inthe spring or summer permanently. Depending on where DH gets a job we may have to move. I'm looking at Hertford and have posted on property board but no joy. Do any of you know Hertfordshire? Any advice?

DD had her first set of jabs on Wednesday. DH held her and I cringed. DS2 kicked me in the eye after his and scratched my cornea. DD was better behaved though and she's doing so well. 9lbs 2oz now.

SilverSky · 31/12/2010 07:58

Hey gals! I thought I'd lost you all!

Happy Christmas & New Year!!

News from us - Ds has cradle cap. On his face. Nice. He has red chapped cheeks. Double nice. Poor so and so looks awful. So much for baby soft skin. Think the cheeks is milk rash - what do you guys do? Ds tends to face plant on my boob during/after feeds so it's hard to avoid. Went to the Drs and they prescribed cream but it's steroid and am not sure I am happy putting it on him. WWYD?

We also have lots of drooling and chewing on fists/fingers. Apparently it's cos they realise they can!

Ds still not sleeping during the day unless out in the car/pram. He is sleeping at night.

Wrt to nappy changes- those of you using cotton wool/water, how do you dry his/her bum & bits? How much nappy free time do you give and how do you do it?

Ds has his jabs today. Hopefully he won't get all poorly. Have got the Calpol on standby!!!!

SilverSky · 31/12/2010 08:01

bug hilarious!!!!

Elsa123 · 31/12/2010 09:06

Morning all. Silver I dry with either cotton wool or a muslin. Sorry to hear about your DS's face. Have you considered nappy barrier cream on his cheeks to guard against the milk? I use Boots own zinc and castor oil cream. Its great.

I would use the steroid cream if I were you. It only needs to go on thinly. A lot of people worry about side effects but I had to use it for most of my childhood and I was fine. If its been prescribed for the face, it will be very gentle. Sometimes non steroid based creams just don't hack it.

Hermya I shall have a look at bath dams- good idea, thank you.

ILGH I'm afraid I know very little about Hertfordshire, but lots of it can be very new townish and very much a sprawling suburb of London. Off the main routes though there are some lovely villages.

nymphadora · 31/12/2010 09:15

Silver- cotton wool to dry, oliveoil on cradle cap not much nappy freer time. Dd3 doesn't sleepi much in the day only on me/ram/car seat

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 31/12/2010 15:01

Silver DS does the same as well, if we don't go out for a walk or a drive he'll only cat nap during the day. Slightly annoying but there you go.

ILGH Oh that sounds so cool.

Nymph It is hard isn't it, I suppose nothing is forever and they won't really remember us leaving them to go back to work. It'll be us who suffer for it in the end.

Me and DS are watching Eclipse, he keeps shouting at Edward and Bella. I think he may be team Jacob.

SilverSky · 31/12/2010 16:54

Well the jabs were horrid. The look on his face when he felt the pain! Then he screamed and turned into a tomato. I was welling up and thought I was going to cry. My poor boy.

Didn't even get the opp to bf him for them.

I did get asked by a random woman in the waiting room if Ds was 6 mths old!!! No just a hefty 2mo!

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 31/12/2010 16:59

Hi, everythings is fine now, my car is still playing up and scared it will break down again, bloody rovers Grin

Dd has dry skin near her eye, HV suggested i use diprobase.

Happy new year everyone x

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 31/12/2010 17:02

silver dd had her jabs yesterday, 3 month ones and there was a baby there 3 days younger than sophie who was huge! dd also reacted in the same way, apparently the meningitis c jab stings :(

nymphadora · 31/12/2010 18:46

I still remember having menC job myself & it's awful. If any of you had clexane/fragmin after c-section double the stinging.

Elsa123 · 31/12/2010 18:54

DD won't settle and the dog's just eaten a dummy that DD had rejected. Hopefully we won't be getting the vet up....

Elsa123 · 31/12/2010 19:01

Phew! Just found well chewed dummy under the sofa- thank goodness! With piece missing but piece found earlier...DD hates dummies anyway so going to give up its too risky with a thieving spaniel....

floozietoozie · 31/12/2010 22:17

ILGH it's rEassuring to hear your dd is about the same weight give or take a few ounces as mine given they should have been born at the same time.

Ds is STILL not asleep and he's driving me crazy. I've sat next to him, gone away and come back, sung, etc. He slept in the car earlier and it's always fatal. He wouldn't go to sleep last night either mind but he wasn't this late. I also don't know where dp is. I'm not sure if he's lying down in the attic or f he's gone out without telling me but can't imagine where to unless it's the party we were invited to but couldn't go cos I'm not well. Dd in contrast is being a darling and s asleep on he bed. Just debating whether given how rough I feel I should bother staying up for midnight or just go to bed. How crap.

But happy new year to you all!!! Sure mine will improve once I feel better...even if I am going to be *% in a few weeks!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 01/01/2011 02:15

Happy New Year everyone.

Having a bad night after DS3 started singing at 1am and wouldn't stop. Normally, that's funny but not at that time! He made up a song along the lines of "mummy mummy where are you?".

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 01/01/2011 12:34

Happy New Year everyone!

nymphadora · 01/01/2011 15:45
