Woohoo, me and dp - together -went down the pub tuis evening. Only for an hour abd a half, about but still out of the house with no children. I don't thing we did this until about a year after ds was born! My mum babysat and she said dd was cooing away and smiling to her.

Dilly nice to see you back. Well done on tge weigt gain; dd did the same in the same time.

Nymph never mind about the job. I yhink you did anazingly just going for the interview right now!

I still haven't started Christmas shopping. I'm on denial, clearly Xmas Grin.

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 16/12/2010 04:49

just back from hospital with ds, he has a chest infection, im so tired and have appointment with minister today, 2.30pm thats an hours drive away for christening, think i may have to cancel :(

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 16/12/2010 06:56

Oh tyson :( cancel it and have a day of sofa cuddles :) hope he gets better soon!

nymphadora · 16/12/2010 06:59

Tyson just hibernate instead! Colds everywhere at the moment

shieldbug · 16/12/2010 10:43

Just managed to catch up. Sorry to hear of dcs with colds. Hope they clear up soon. Tyson hibernating sounds like the best option. I'm sure the minister will understand. We've got mothers' day booked for Harry's baptism, which will be very special.dh wants a big do, with a barn dance too, but we'll have to see!

elsa poor you, it must have been such a worrying time after the accident, but I agree with others, that you mustn't blame yourself. Remember, I fell down the stairs with Harry, so I know how easily these things happen. Hope the hips are soon corrected. Poor little girl, she is having it tough at the moment.

silver thanks for asking the questions I really want to ask too. I don't think motherhood is necessarily that instinctive and half the time haven't a clue!

mmm, ds needs changing, just got a whiff of him there...better go!

SilverSky · 16/12/2010 11:18

DS first set of immunisations date has come thru - bloody NYE. Poor soul. We'll be in for a rough night then? Any tips? I read someone suggested Calpol. Can he have calpol at 8 wks??

Bugs Great to know that I am not the only one!!

DS passed his six week check up - he weighs 12lb 12oz! I kid you not.

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 16/12/2010 12:58

Yup-calpol from 8 weeks! Thank goodness...though when thy are old enough I find carprofen better for bad temperatures or teething (Ds really suffers :( )
I hope they go well.

Elsa- if you are reading inhope you and dd are doing well :)

I'm shattered-dd and Ds combined forces so dh and I had virtually no sleep last night-I'm turning into a zombie!

Are we getting more snow this weekend then? It's grey and miserable today...

SilverSky · 16/12/2010 13:02

Supposed to be snow so bad we are snowed in. Better not be!!!

I am thinking about getting a Bug in a Rug baby wrap. They do two versions a fleece one and an extreme one which is waterproof. I dont know which to get.

I am out and about alot with dog walking. Occasionally go shopping. Also short journeys in car to other houses etc. What do you reckon??

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 16/12/2010 13:08

The way this winter is I'd say the extreme one!!

nymphadora · 16/12/2010 13:30

Having an undomesticated day. Broke theiron trying to do a tranfern for dh Xmas present. Broke the oven clock trying to set the timer & just popped sweetcotn in the microwave! Dh is out shopping so not touching anything else !

We are trying to stock up on foodnow dh has finishedthe pantry. He bought 30 eggs this am & a sack of spuds is coming later. Hoping my parents will look afte dd1 later so I can go to the Market

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 16/12/2010 17:33

Silver We've got both, I've been using the extreme one as it's been quite cold. But since I bought a cosy toes for the car seat I use the normal one so I can layer him up. BTW I got them both off of ebay, check it out theres a few on there at the moment.

Elsa123 · 16/12/2010 17:47

Hi everyone! We moved into a flat in London this week so I've had a few days there and rior to that saw me sister and her DCs as they've moved back from abroad. I WILL get internet at the flat! I'm now back up North for Christmas to be joined by DH tomorrow which is good as its also my birthday. I don't feel at all Christmassy so hope to get the tree up tomorrow and I thought I'd make mince pies and mulled wine so when I pick up DH from the train station tomorrow evening the house will smell all christmassy!

Sorry to hear about the job Nymph but I'm pleased you're not too bothered. I hope you get a resolution to the dodgy mole and the hot flushes.

I'm jealous of your pelvic floor Hermya! Mi took a considerable bashing with a 2.5 hour second stage but I'm getting there.

Re contraception chat I got Cerazette last week the new mini pill where you don't have to take it at precisely the same time each day, just roughly. However I started to bleed yesterday which I didn't want. I really quite liked being on no hormonal contraceptive before I was pg and this is cheesing me off already. I was on the combined pill before.

DH has a cold too I hope that if he does pass it on to DD she's over it by Xmas.

DD is sleeping through though which is great. Although I'm still not sleeping that well as I'm listening out for her and worried if she's ok! She's currently snoozing in her bouncy chair with the vibrate setting on. I will make the most of it in a bit and make my dinner! She detects when I'm about to eat and shouts!

NoHunIntended · 16/12/2010 18:03

nymph, am jealous of your pantry! I sooo want a pantry!

Elsa, where in London? Happy Birthday!

nymphadora · 16/12/2010 18:57

elsa have you actually got the pills? They've been out of stock everywhere for at least 2 months as there was a factory problem. I still have my prescription in my bag.

hun it's actually one of our cellar rooms as our kitchen is tiny. We have units shelves & freezer

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 16/12/2010 19:02

Happy Birthday Elsa, btw DS is the same way. I only have to sit down with any type of food in my hand and he starts demanding attention.

nymphadora · 16/12/2010 19:35

Dd3 wants feeding if I'm eating so not even the option of dh eating one handed

Elsa123 · 16/12/2010 19:58

Hun Finchley Road. Where are you?

Nymph Yes, I have the pills and have been taking them for a week now. My pharmacy must have had a backlog.

nymphadora · 16/12/2010 20:01

I went in Boots & they said Boots were out of stock & other people had been in that had been round others in the area looking. Will check again as they may be back in now

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 16/12/2010 20:43

Happy birthday!!

nymphadora · 16/12/2010 21:36

Kids in bed. Husband at quiz team Xmas do. I have the REMOTE Grin property porn & tiny glass of kir royale & bog chunk of cheese. What a night!

tiredfeet · 16/12/2010 21:49

nymph cerazette back in stock now, I got some last week. Haven't started taking it yet though Blush just nervous about taking hormones again. Sounds vain maybe but one of the side effects is weight gain and I really don't fancy that. But do need to make my mind up what to use, not sure I am as brave as hun, think I need a bigger gap!

Happy birthday elsa hope you have a great day!

nypmh love your delight at having the remote! One of the downsides of breastfeeding is defintely that its even harder to control the remote!

We refer to ds as the fitness trainer because of his ability to cry/wake when my food is ready, and because he likes being walked around a lot (and he's so heavy already!) Still, it saves on gym membership...

NoHunIntended · 16/12/2010 22:31

Elsa, we are in Wimbledon, SW London.

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 17/12/2010 00:33

My main issue is weight gain, not willing to go through years of feeling fat again :(

floozietoozie · 17/12/2010 04:01

Wow Elsa you get around. That spy job certainly keeps you busy. Xmas Grin.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 17/12/2010 05:55

nymph hope you enjoyed that bog cheese Xmas Grin.

Have done all my uk Christmas shopping online. I just have to trust in John Lewis to deliver it in time. Got my nieces Boden dresses in the sale but don't think they've been delivered to my dad for wrapping yet. Aaargh. Hate the thought they might not have a present from us to open.

Off out to shops here today to get stocking fillers for the boys (and the girl!, must get used to that) and all their wee friends. Having Christmas dinner with two other families so got to get litltle things for them too.

Sorry, rambling.

How are your baby's bums? Gen has terrible nappy rash and the one thing that works is egg white. Just thought I'd share that.

Elsa how do you do it all? I am amazed. I can barely get out of the house. Hope B is doing okay.
