Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NoHunIntended · 14/12/2010 10:48

Weirdly, DS started showing signs of being in pain teething last night, so we tried the giraffe, and it did seem to help!
I also have an amber bead necklace for him, which is meant to help.

nymphadora · 14/12/2010 15:36

Got interview clothes. Awful job doing so though. Ended up with nice top & trousers as v limited choice of jackets & if they fit my chest they were too big everywhere else. Anyway done now & just have to do interview prep.

Dd3 currently having a strop cos I left her for 5 mins with dh. Getting v determined about what she wants. Including sitting up and where I sit Hmm

nymphadora · 14/12/2010 16:15

Oh & went to baby clinic this am she is now 10lb 15 1/2. Jot bad since she has had quite a few poorly days lately. The Hv grabbed me to ask if I was ok as she had seen me go v red and heard me saying to someone about being hot all the time( I was out on the snow days in a cardi). Anyway she wants me to see the dr as it's not normal & she was worried.

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 14/12/2010 17:04

Nymph Woo hoo re DD3's weight, I hope the Doc says it's nothing to worry about with you being hot all the time. Oh and regarding work, my job itself isn't at risk (I'm one of the plebs). But I'm a little worried that they could turn around and be a bit funny when I put in my request to change my hours and location as it may not benefit them. This is why the news that there is nobody on my team isn't great. Hopefully by the time I go back it'll have all calmed down or at the very least they'll be worrying about something else. I think I know someone else who works in your line of things and he was a bit worried as well.

Floozie Can you remind me about the feeding situation again, I'm a little baby brained at the moment.

Silver I am doing, my team leader has been moved as well. He didn't seem too happy but he was resigned to it. He said it was all swings and roundabouts at the end of the day, they'll do loads of cuts now and then in a few years time they'll 'discover' that they need more staff and so it goes. He is right, the last place I worked before I moved did a similar thing to whats happening with my lot at the moment and after a year or so of people being jostled it all calmed down again.

I had my six week check today, they think my iron levels have gone south again so I may be back on the old iron tablets again [fbear]. I also had a chat with her about contraception and I've decided to go for the mirena coil (as I would forget to take the pill). She did the swabs and oh my gosh it frickin hurt! Will it be worse than that for the coil?

Weirdly though, I got complimented on having a good pelvic floor. She also checked my stitches as well to see how they'd healed. Well, she oooo and ahhhh at them and said she hadn't seen such good work in some time. I have to say, it was the most bizare set of compliments I've ever had.

I've said it before, but the Doctors at my practice are a very bizare set of people.

nymphadora · 14/12/2010 17:54

I'm still on iron daren't stop!!! Am back fir bloods on fri so see what comes back. The hot thing can be thyroid hence HV telling me to see GP but I've looked it up & don't have other symptoms

nymphadora · 14/12/2010 17:55

Oh love the compliments btw Grin

ILoveGregoryHouse · 15/12/2010 00:48

Marking place again. Just got dd off to sleep. Night all!

NoHunIntended · 15/12/2010 01:15

Good luck with the interview, nymph.

LOL at Hermya and her compliment! :)

nymphadora · 15/12/2010 05:04

Dd3 just done 9 hours. Tops yesterday's 8. We've been up & down since 2 Hmm

floozietoozie · 15/12/2010 05:21

Hermya I'm feeding dd but she's also having two high-calorie ff a day too.

nymph yesterday dd went seven hours at night Shock. I actually wasn't that pleased brcause I worried about it affecting my supply but I suppose it's normal. Today was five hours.

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 15/12/2010 09:08

Hermya-now there's a compliment to be proud of!
Nymph-so glad you got your outfit sorted, hope the interview goes well :)
Floozie-Yey for 7hrs!! Don't worry, your boobs will figure it out...dd does a 7th stretch over the evening and things are still going well.

Dd seems to have stopped dropping percentiles, but we are now suffering another cold so we shall see. She is gorgeous happy smiley baby-Xmas is going to be fun! Ds is out if his cot and into his bed (after climbing out 3 times in 24hrs last week) so it's all go!!

nymphadora · 15/12/2010 11:00

Starting new crisis today. So feel free to skip Grin found a scabby mole yesterday & as I have a history of dodgy ones I have seen GP this am for referral which should be within 2 weeks. Also have form for more bloods for thyroid tests after the hot flushes.

tiredfeet · 15/12/2010 12:19

Oh nymph like you didn't have enough on your plate already! Hopefully they will be able to get it all checked out nice and promptly. Good luck with the interview Smile

I have a horrible cold so feeling a bit sorry for myself but ds smiles are helping me keep going

Loving the compliments hermya!

nymphadora · 15/12/2010 12:27

DillyDora · 15/12/2010 14:55

Hi all, just got back on the laptop after a looong time away...marking my place...will read posts later
xx

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 15/12/2010 15:45

Hi Dilly!!!!!! [frgin]

Nymph Gosh you're not really having it easy at the moment are you.

Tyson Smiley babies are lovely aren't they.

DS is back on the playmat beating seven bells out of the monkey and laughing whilst he does it.

It's weird to think that seven and a bit weeks ago he was in my tummy beating up my ribs.

nymphadora · 15/12/2010 16:53

Quick post. Didn't get the job. Not as bothered as I thought I'd be. I've still got 6 m off work so plenty of time to look around & my job isn't that bad Wink

DillyDora · 15/12/2010 17:09

Hi there, finally read through so:
Elsa wow! So sorry for all you have been through! Hope you're recovered and that DD is coping ok with her froggly legs, hope the time passes quickly....

nymph hope it isn't PND, you have so much on surely it's normal to feel a bit ARGH! Sorry about the job, glad you're not bovvered Wink

hi Hermya! Loving your posts. DS has a very rewarding friendship with a large plant in our living room, there's a light behind it and he just loves to gaze at it. He also likes to chat to his cot book, waving his arms, poking his tongue and generally getting very animated - as it's only about 3 inches from his nose in his moses basket I wonder just what he can see?! Surely it's a blur?!

silver are you feeling better?

We're good, I have a v sore right boob though and worry about thrush...it's just sore in one place (above the nipple) but there's no lump and the pain isn't constant...it's not red or hot. Most odd. We have had to postpone DS's imms till next week as he's a bit coldish (his Pa had a major cold) so I'll mention it to the nurse then if it persists - you certainly get to spend plenty of time seeing drs/nurses when you're a mum don't you?!
DS had 6 week check and had put on a pound in 2 weeks - I was gobsmacked, and so happy! So he was 8lb14 and must be over 9lb now - clever boy! He's managing to sleep in the afternoons in his moses basket now if we're having a mellow day (if we have visitors or go out he won't sleep) but Silver I think it was you saying your LO didn't sleep - nor did Toby for a while and I thought I'd go mad, but then it changed again. I gave up caffeine for a bit though the gp says this doesn't work, also my mum came to stay and that seemed to change things - broke a pattern maybe? Gave me a break and chilled me out?

Hello to everyone else! good luck ttc Hun - I too have a friend who got pregnant while bfing.

No idea what to do re contraception - only option is coil or mini pill but mini pill made me so miserable... am v scared of the Mirena doing the same thing... and or fat... have only 1/2 stone of baby weight to lose but would like to lose it!

A-ha! DS wakes I think...

nymphadora · 15/12/2010 18:52

Dd3 has just given both my parents gorgeous smiles. It's taken longer for her to get to know them as we don't live as close now & see them 2x a week rather than everyday but think they are getting there now! She is v chatty today too!
Santa has just been to our house. Dd2 went out & dh stood on the step with dd3. Dd2(9) most def believes as we thought she was wavering. Dd1 is still poorly & stood at the window wrapped in a duvet. Dd3 liked the lights on his truck Grin

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 15/12/2010 19:57

Nymph You have a Santa with a truck, gosh I'm so jealous. The only Santa I spied today was in a shop stood next to a rather pathetic looking Christmas tree.

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 15/12/2010 20:08

I've been on MN too long, my friend asked about GF books and I automatically shuddered. I've not even read the books FGS, I've been well and truely indoctrinated.

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 15/12/2010 20:29

Lol Hermya, I tried to explain what was wrong with CBC, GF and the evidence that George C and John T were gay and couldn't, I just knew Hmm I'm also desperate to use emoticons on facebook and emails. After 3 years there is no hope for me!!

nymphadora · 15/12/2010 20:31

I've been here for 6 or7 I can't escape Grin even dh talks of fruit shoots/nice ham/greggs and tells me to ask MN. He even emailed his friend about zombie plans.

NoHunIntended · 16/12/2010 00:33

Shame about the job, nymph - wasn't meant to be. You'll land on your feet with something better.

DS is also looking at strange things and smiling - blank walls, plain curtains, the ceiling etc - I am convinced he can see fairies and/or ghosts.

Dilly, long time no see! Good to hear from you! Especially the TTC encouragement! :)

nymph, good luck with the mole. Been there - it's not nice, but good that you spotted it soonest.

Just ordered him a cute Christmas-themed reusable nappy - Hermya, I think you put me on to Cheeks and Cherries. So hoping it arrives in time! Xmas Smile I love Christmas!
