Well, ladies, shall we, shan't we?
Calling all Scots, born and bred, and newcomers, and ex-residents and any other March Mum who fancies the trip Smile!

How about the weekend that BMI is in Edinburgh anyway?

I am keen as mustard to come however DSs school if off tomorrow, DH is trapped at work (police won't let anybody leave until 9pm because roads/motorways in Lanarkshire are gridlocked Shock) and I don't know what to do. I have not had a chance to really chat to DH.

I think I have to say: I'll see you when I see you. Fingers crossed!

It is thawing furiously here Confused...

PD bring your DSs :) I guess we can all look after them!

SiameseSnowCat · 06/12/2010 19:45

I'm here! I'm Defo coming given the hardwork I put into getting here alive :)

evitas · 06/12/2010 20:03

Heckle Sorry to hear you are not coming, but I understand. I'm sure we can arrange another date :)

Siamese I think you arrived in Edinburgh at the worst hour. I think if you had arrived one hour later things might have been a bit better. Hope you are enjoying the apartment, pizza, wine and DH :)
See you tomorrow!

Dalrymps · 06/12/2010 20:40

Glad you got there safe and sound siamese Smile

PacificDogwood · 06/12/2010 20:46

Well done, Siamese, glad you made it safely!

Apparently the conditions here are 'too dangerous for the gritters' Shock. DH is settling in for a night in his office... At least he has a fancy coffee machine there Wink.

I've made my decision. I'm afraid I'm not going to make it Sad

DS's school is open, but the council are saying that they won't mark anyone down as an unauthorised absence if they feel that they can't make the journey to school.

So we are at home AGAIN.... which is fine by me tbh.

Nice to almost meet you ladies! I am in Edinburgh if anyone fancies meeting up after the big thaw!!

evitas · 07/12/2010 09:07

Mawbroon sorry to hear you are not joining us. Definitely we'll need to arrange another event.

I'm also in Edinburgh, maybe we could meet for a coffee one of these days :)

PD is your DH back home? Are you travelling to Edinburgh or staying warm?
x

PacificDogwood · 07/12/2010 09:23

Dh made it home around midnight.

I am trying to decide whether a MN meet-up qualifies as 'essential travel' Hmm?

There is a chance I might have to go to work if others cannot make it in, too...

All things considered, reluctantly and with regret, I think I will probably not be there Sad. I am really diappointed...

I hope you will all have a nice time. Raise a cup of tea for all of us who are held hostage by the weather Xmas Smile

evitas · 07/12/2010 09:40

oh... PD :( at least I hope you don't have to go to work!

We definitely need to book another date!! Xmas Grin

Any suggestions?

scooby26 · 07/12/2010 09:46

Of course it's essential travel!!!

evitas · 07/12/2010 09:50

Scooby it is not snowing any more. It's cold but blue sky. Don't know if you still want to bring your pram.

See you later :)!

PacificDogwood · 07/12/2010 09:54

scooby, I know; I am a lightweight... just not committed to the Cause.

I have not completely given up yet. JL might be warmer than our house: 16 degrees with the heating going full throttle. Might have to put a fire on - you could all come round to roast some marshmallows Xmas Wink

You think we'll manage with a buggy from the station? (quinny buzz 3 wheels)

Sad that the weather has stopped so many of us coming, we'll definitely have to arrange another date.

evitas · 07/12/2010 10:04

I'm taking my buggy, but I'll be going by bus. I hope Princes street will have clear paths Hmm... but if you decide not to bring your buggy the station is not faraway.

PacificDogwood · 07/12/2010 10:07

On Saturday the main pavements were clear, but there was considerable frozen slush at road crossings etc. I would imagine that yesterday's snow has Not Helped the situation.

I am so Envy at all of you who can make it Sad.

OP posts:
evitas · 07/12/2010 10:08

Ok, I've just checked here and it seems the paths are relatively clear to push the buggy

scooby26 · 07/12/2010 10:14

On train.... Cu sn x

Dalrymps · 07/12/2010 10:23

Ah thanks, think will bring the buggy for extra protection from the cold for Miles..

Aw pacific, we will deffo plan another meet when it's warmer and will all see you then x

scooby26 · 07/12/2010 10:42

Just pulling into Berwick. We decided on buggy too!

scooby26 · 07/12/2010 10:52

evitas · 07/12/2010 10:58

PacificDogwood · 07/12/2010 11:56

Thanks, evitas Smile. But would you have room for all 6 of us Wink!

I suspect you'll all be on your way now - have fun!

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 07/12/2010 15:39

Are you still out having fun Sad??

I am bored and am beginning to get cabin fever - boys off school tomorrow as well, -8 degrees in our garden just now and 16 degrees in the kitchen
