Well, ladies, shall we, shan't we?
Calling all Scots, born and bred, and newcomers, and ex-residents and any other March Mum who fancies the trip Smile!

How about the weekend that BMI is in Edinburgh anyway?

I had a thought; JL has both a restaurant and a cafe (5th and 2nd floors respectively, if memory serves), so make sure you decide and everyone knows which you are meeting in! Restaurant is bigger, has nice view and toilets nearby.

Wish I could join you Envy:( But looking forward to seeing some of you in York!

evitas · 14/10/2010 09:53

yes, BMI is right. There are two cafés, but the bigger one is on the 4th floor and it's nearby the changing facilities and feeding room. It can be very busy at 1pm, so maybe we could have a meeting point. When you come out of the lifts you have to cross the furniture section to get to the restaurant, maybe we can meet in that area and try the nice sofas :)

Why has this dropped off my threads (confused)??
Does anyone have a hotel or serviced apartment recommendation?

evitasFeastofScreams · 20/10/2010 12:28

hecklephone · 30/10/2010 20:48

Just popping back in here to say we are on for the 7th - FIL has agreed to look after DD1 for the afternoon, yay!

evitasFeastofScreams · 01/11/2010 11:11

That's fantastic Hecke :)

siameseflesheatingcats · 02/11/2010 10:44

That is a good site, thanks! (passes it on to DH who has been staying in the same b&b for nearly 4 years on and off..)

scooby26 · 06/11/2010 01:00

Yay heckle

Siamesecatwoman · 19/11/2010 12:34

Keeping this on my threads:)
Looking forward to this!

evitas · 22/11/2010 09:44

York was lovely and it was a very good "ice breaker" (at least for me - I wasn't really sure how things would be). As Siamese said, it felt natural. Really really looking forward to this meeting. Very excited! :)

Dalrymps · 24/11/2010 11:45

Dh has booked the 7th off and I've just booked the train tickets Smile

Dylan will love going on the train, he's never been on one before!

Should arrive at Edinburgh at 12.11 so will be a tad late if you're meeting at 12. Hope it's ok i'm bringing dh? I'm just too much of a wimp to tackle the whole thing alone and we thought it'd be a nice family day out too Smile

Dalrymps · 24/11/2010 11:50

I just read back and I see we're meeting around 12.30/1 is that right? If so we'll be right on time!

Our train back leaves at 17.08 so should have a few hours with you lovely ladies. Might even pop in to a toy shop or two whilst I'm thereSmile

evitas · 24/11/2010 11:56

Dalrymps Great! Glad you can join us in Edinburgh.
yes 12.30/1ish @ John Lewis café on the 4th floor - it's 5 minutes walking from the train station.

Dalrymps · 24/11/2010 12:11

Ah ok, great! Despite living less than an hour from Edinburgh I've only been once! Dh however was born here and knows his way round well.. I had a look at google maps and can see it's only a short walk from the st. Can't wait!

evitas · 29/11/2010 19:07

One week to go :)
Exciting!
So... who is coming?

Siamese
Pacific
Evitas
Scooby
Hecklephone
Dalrymps

anyone else?
Smac?
Sariska?

PacificDogwood · 05/12/2010 14:37

Thank you BMI for linking for me as I had totally lost this thread.

I met mawbroon last night and her delectable DS who was just amazingly well behaved - at beyond 10pm ShockEnvy! She might come on Tuesday as well; I have given her the time and place anyway.

Edinburgh is just gorgeous in its pre-Christmassy glory - if only all the crowds weren't there so I could enjoy it properly Xmas Wink!

There was still considerable frozen slush, so be warned those of you who intend on coming with buggies. I think I will sling it - must use the Ergo more to justify having bought it....

mawbroon · 05/12/2010 21:27

Hello, hello. Found you all!!

DS1's school is open tomorrow after a whole week off, hooray, so Ds2 and I can toddle along to meet you all on Tuesday and stay as long as we like without a bored 5yo pulling at my sleeve. Smile

Two MN meets in the space of 3 days!!! Shock

I'm going to drive I think. It's still too treacherous trying to get out of our street. Would hate to fall and squash ds2. He's very placid, but i think that might make him cry Shock

mawbroon · 06/12/2010 10:27

Hmm, might not be going anywhere if this snow continues. already seen the RAC man digging out his van in the street....

evitas · 06/12/2010 11:48

mawbroon where do you leave? Any chance you can come by bus/train?

It's snowing a lot at the moment in Edinburgh but the forecast for tomorrow is better: no snow, sun but extremely cold [humm]

Really hope you can all come to Edinburgh! I want to meet/see again all those lovely babies and mummies.

I'll be @ John Lewis @ 12.30pm - 4th floor. For those who have never met me before I have black a Phil and Teds pram with a bright green footmuff. But if you ear a baby screaming/complaining it will probably be my DS :)

evitas · 06/12/2010 12:08

live - not "leave" bahhrrr

mawbroon · 06/12/2010 12:09

I'll see evitas. Our street is a nightmare and I am a bit wussy about walking in the snow with ds2 in the sling after falling and breaking my ankle in the snow last year.

DS1's school is sending the kids home just now (neighbour going for him) and I would guess they will be off again tomorrow unless there is a sudden thaw. So, i will stop second guessing and wait until I see what it's like tomorrow before I make my final decision.

Will be Sad if I miss it though.

hecklephone · 06/12/2010 14:15

maw you're not the only one dithering. I'm definitely not driving from Dundee but I'm also looking at the trains and theres still a fair bit of disruption to the services. This part of the country has had a lot of snow so it feels a bit risky to be going on a long-ish journey in the middle of it all. I really want to go tomorrow but equally I do not want to get caught in some travel nightmare!

Is everyone else able to make it? If I'm the only one left out I will insist on a re-run in the new year so I can come too!!

evitas · 06/12/2010 16:12

well... buses are cancelled but the snow has stopped! Hopefully tomorrow everything will be better.

I'll send everyone my mobile number on FB, in case you need anything

x

hecklephone · 06/12/2010 16:59

Well I'm definitely a no-show for tomorrow I'm afraid. The travel situation just seems too dodgy and I had to make a decision as my FIL was taking a day off to look after dd1 and I didn't want to keep him hanging on. I'm quite Sad as I was looking forward to it and I don't want to miss the festive fun! Have a fab time without me though and I'll see you at the next one Wink

Dalrymps · 06/12/2010 18:22

I really want to make it still. Have got my tickets and everything. Think it's just gonna be a case of seeing how the weather is in the morning and whether our train is still running. It has basically snowed ever since I got up today, I recon there's been 3'' of snow just today.
