Well, ladies, shall we, shan't we?
Calling all Scots, born and bred, and newcomers, and ex-residents and any other March Mum who fancies the trip Smile!

How about the weekend that BMI is in Edinburgh anyway?

Pacific can you suggest anywhere for the 7th? Think I'd rather a small mmmm meet up as I don't chat on any other threads

PacificDogwood · 03/10/2010 18:01

I don't really know Edinburgh at all apart from Jenner's - I think BMI is going to be a useful person Wink.

Now Glasgow, that's a different story...

Wink

I think evitas' suggestion upthread of John Lewis restaurant is a good one. It's central, very handy for Edinburgh Waverley train station and for buses, and will have baby changing facilities. Also has car parking if needed, and shouldn't be too busy on a Tuesday. And near the Christmas market, if you wanted to risk your lives on the ice rink and get drunk on Glühwein check that out Grin

BusyMissIzzy · 03/10/2010 18:18

I knew I'd balls up the striking out, I always do Blush

PacificDogwood · 03/10/2010 18:28

I keep forgetting that evitas is in Edinburgh...Blush. To me she will forever be exotic and furrin Wink

Tues 7th good for me but won't get in till 12.30 ish. John Lewis sounds good too. Very MN!
BMI are you scottish? you don't sound Scottish -on facebook videos-- come across as a Scot?

Now I'm excited!! Will book train asap. Who's coming then?
Siamese
Pacific
Evitas
Scooby
Hecklephone?
Dalrymps?
Smac?
Sariska?

scooby26 · 03/10/2010 21:57

Shall we say 12.30/1.00?

evitas · 04/10/2010 09:54

Pacific :) I know it's hard to believe that I've exchanged sunny Lisbon with rainy Edinburgh, but having said that I LOVE Edinburgh ;)

yes, I think John Lewis is a good option. Is everyone coming by train? pacific and heckle are you driving? Parking in the city centre is expensive.

Maybe we could all meet at John Lewis' restaurant and then go to the market. As scooby suggested 12.30/1.00pm?
x

BusyMissIzzy · 04/10/2010 11:46

siamese I am indeed Scottish. I grew up in Edinburgh, moved to London 4 years ago. I'll try and play up the accent a bit in FB videos in future if you like Grin

Dalrymps · 04/10/2010 13:42

Hmm if I make it I might leave ds1 with mil as he's a bit of a total menace handful at the moment... Unless dh can get flexi time off then he can come and control watch him Grin

PacificDogwood · 04/10/2010 21:40

I am likely to be a bit late, more around 2pm, but I am sure I'll be able to catch up Grin with the drinking. Ideally I'd like to come by train rather than drive...

OP posts:
hecklephone · 04/10/2010 21:45

Ooh, plans are moving on apace here! Ok, I will bribe ask nicely if MIL can look after DD1 on the 7th. Might not be too much of a problem as her birthday's on the 10th so she might want to take a few days of work around then anyway...fingers crossed! Will get back to you on that but count me in for now!

12.30/1 at John Lewis seems a good plan to me. I will probably drive, as I have previously devised a cunning plan which involves parking outwith the city centre and getting a bus to Princes Street, thus saving many parking pennies Grin

Evening ladies

Is the 7th Dec confirmed just if so i shall book a train tonight. What time do you all think you will need to leave??

siamesecatwoman · 05/10/2010 18:48

I'm happy with 7th. We would need to leave by 6 pm but don't let me keep you out / spoil the party!
I'm excited! Now I'm going to look for a nice hotel instead of the Alan Partridge style place DH has been staying. Maybe one with baby listening so I can stay up past 7pm!!!

scooby26 · 05/10/2010 22:48

Train booked ladies!!

evitas · 06/10/2010 09:35

Great Scooby!

PacificDogwood · 06/10/2010 21:24

Yay Pacific!!! I may just have to induldge too. Just the one. Did you know its a criminal offence tho to be drunk in charge of a child under 7 ?!! Not that we ever would be of course Wink

PacificDogwood · 06/10/2010 21:45

Ah, but Guinness or any other form of Brewer's Yeast is good for milk production, 'tis medicinal, innit?
Grin

My name is PD and I am a cheap date a lush.

OP posts:
scooby26 · 06/10/2010 21:49

Sadly milk production is not an excuse I can use!!Wink

We get into Edinburgh about 11.30 and leave at 6. You never know I might fit a teeny bit of shopping in if we don't drink ALLL day [heehee)

PacificDogwood · 06/10/2010 21:54
