Belgina - thinking of you and hoping and praying all ends up ok xx

Running - I'm very impressed with A adapting to her big girl bed! Don't think I'm going to try it yet with O. He's still in a cot and Gro-bag to stop any possibility of escape :)
Sorry for the gestational diabetes.

Dandy - how frustrating! IKWYM though about taking action (buying a test or cancelling card) and then it turns out it wasn't needed. Hope both card and AF turn up soon!
Had to laugh at weeing on the credit card Grin
As for your trip, I'd love to hear more about it. I've loved reading the little snippets that you've posted on here :)

Smokey - sorry no experience with nannys but hope it works out for you. I still read in awe of all you manage to achieve with 4 young DSs!

Cupboard - how's things with you today?

flip - good luck for your appointment!

Hello Llare, Pula and anyone else lurking!

I'm back at work today but still on a high from my week off. O and I had such fun together and he's become so affectionate. He obviously gave me hugs and kisses previously but he keeps running over to give me a quick hug and looking over at me with a knowing look. We just seemed to have so much fun together, it was great :)

belgina · 17/01/2011 17:03

Aaaaarghh. Just did a big nc post and it's all gone. GONE!!! :(

Thanks all for your support. I'll come back later for a proper catch up. Dinner's ready now and ds has got to go to youth club in a bit.

smokeybacon · 17/01/2011 19:39

belgina poor you. Hope it all works out ok but so frustrating not knowing. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

dandy Test test test! rofl at weeing on a credit card.

flip hope your appointment goes ok tomorrow

Parents have just been here. Am a bit Angry at my dad again. You may remember that he is working in SA and popping back here fairly regularly. He had planned to finish at easter and be back here permanently, but has now changed his mind. He has actually not yet spoken to me about it but I know this as he spoke to DH about it. My mum is really upset about it and when I asked her (when dad was out the room) if I could broach the subject today with him, she wouldn't let me while she is around. She is obviously understandably upset by it. I love mmy dad but he can be a selfish stubborn man and I am pissed off at him for doing this to my mum. And us. He is so good with the DSs when he is here , eg today he spent 90 mins with R playing on his train set. But I need to talk to him about it to find out why he is going back.

Rant over. I will speak to him soon.

belgina · 17/01/2011 22:19

Back again for a quick catch up :)

running how annoying about the gestational diabetes. I agree that llare is the woman to talk to. She managed the gd beautifully and lost some weight while at it!

dandy did you do a test in the end? And have you questioned ds about the whereabouts of your card? He might well have something to do with it ;)

ses sounds like you had a lovely time off. C does this random kissing too. Sometimes she'll just stand next to me while I'm cooking and she'll hug and kiss my leg, lol.

smokey how annoying about your dad. I hope it'll work out and that you've had a chance to have a chat.

smokey good luck. Hopefully it all goes well.

Goodnight every one

llareggub · 17/01/2011 22:53

Helloooo

I am going to attempt to say everything that I want to say but I've also got 100 envelopes to address and stuff to get tomorrow's post, as well as tidy our disgraceful playroom as we have a playdate tomorrow with the woman with the tidiest house in the world. That was a long sentence but my brain is fried from school governor training tonight.

Belgina I have everything crossed for you. As I said earlier, the same happened with DS2. I'd used one of those clearblue tests that tell you how many weeks you are, which corresponded with my dates. Of course both things were completely wrong and my dates were way out. So fingers crossed for you.

Running let me know if you want to chat about GD. As Dandy alluded to, I see my diagnosis as a positive thing in many ways and I've bored many people about it in the past! But if you want to chat, let me know. There are quite a few supportive and informative threads on Mumsnet too. Are you still breastfeeding, btw? If you are, this is an excellent way of controlling your blood sugar during your pregnancy as it lowers it in the same way as exercise.

Dandy I read your posts in work and I actually laughed out loud. Test, you nutter! How are you getting on with your blog and photos? I want to read all about it!

Cupboard How are you doing, my lovely? I was thinking about you today and wondering how you are. Let me know if you need anything. How is DD2 now?

Febes Good luck with TTC!

Reggiee DS2 is definitely getting into the tantrum phase. Glad I'm not the only one...

Flip I meant to say the other day that I always get backache in my lower back in pregnancy. Thinking of you. Early pregnancy is such as rollercoaster. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

omnom How are you feeling now? Rest up as much as you can! What did you do for Sunday lunch in the end?

Pula thanks for thinking of us for the cards.

Ses and Momino how lovely that you two got together. It sounds like you had a great time.

Smokey no idea really what constitutes a decent wage for a nanny, but we used to pay our CM £5 per hour by the end. £8 seems reasonable enough but obviously it comes down to how much choice she has employment-wise at the moment! I can definitely see why you are ranting about your dad. Your poor mother!

Hello to anyone I've missed, it wasn't intentional but I'm doing too many things at once.

llareggub · 17/01/2011 22:54

Crikey, I've just realised the time. There is no way on earth I am going to get these envelopes done. Oh well.

runningmonkey · 18/01/2011 09:52

Thanks llare I will prob message you this afternoon when DD is asleep if that's ok. Unfortunately not still bf and spd is making exercise a bit difficult especially since my favourite thing to do is swimming breaststroke but am trying to walk everywhere an am on my feet a lot for work.

Hope you got the envelopes/cleaning done!

Hello to everyone else.

Dandy, have you looked in the CD or DVD player? Mine is in our car CD player....

llareggub · 18/01/2011 11:30

running, no problem!

flippineck · 18/01/2011 12:47

Hello all!

dandy - looking forward to hearing any news soon...just where is that credit card Wink. Would love to hear about your trip! LOL at your mad dreams.

running - sorry to hear about the GD, hope it's uneventful for you.

ses and momino - Envy at you meeting up, sounds lovely!

llareggub - did you get our envelopes done?!

smokey - how frustrating about your dad. Familes, eh? Pfah.

cupboard - hope you are ok. Thinking of you x

Thanks for all the good wishes for my appointment this morning. I was so nervous before hand (and desperate not to pee myself too...do they know how hard a full bladder is to manage?!). Anyway, it's positive news, everything is where it should be and they found the heartbeat. The dates all match mine too.

The suspense is killing me!

flippineck · 18/01/2011 14:59

Come on Dandy, they only take a couple of minutes, surely!

smokeybacon · 18/01/2011 15:02

Ooooh dandy. Hope you get the result you want. Am watching with much interest....

belgina · 18/01/2011 16:31

Ooh, dandy!!!! exciting. What's the result :o

flip. Great news. I'm so incredibly happy for you. It must be such a relief. Especially after knowing my disaster story so shortly before.

smokeybacon · 18/01/2011 17:02

Sorry flip missed your post. But Grin.

dandy where are yoooouuuuuu?

runningmonkey · 18/01/2011 17:08

dandy hope you're ok

belgina how are you feeling today?

flip so pleased it was good news for you

omnomnomtom · 18/01/2011 17:29

waiting to hear how dandy gets on...

belgina how are you? Sorry to hear about your scan and fingers crossed for positive news at your re-scan

flip glad all went well today

DPs parents visiting wasn't too bad, they do say some stupid things but it all goes over my head these days. I managed to cook a roast on the Sunday which everyone enjoyed.
Have been feeling rough again the past couple of days but am definitely aiming to get back to work tomorrow even if I feel awful because I can't stay off forever and am worried about my caseload.

running I know nothing about GD but hope you are feeling ok

Dandy very natural to have mixed feelings but it seems that you are definitely seeing the positives to getting a negative result. Bloody typical that you got your period 2 hours later though.
And eeeek at DS- is it permanent marker?!

smokeybacon · 18/01/2011 18:25

A very philosophical approach dandy. and your prediction of doing a test bringing on your period was correct. And now you know.

Hope H's face is retrievable after his artistic endeavours.

I now have a dirty nappy to deal with.

How are you doing belgina?

belgina · 18/01/2011 19:07

dandy hope you're ok after that negative result. Hope you can get back to your big no more baby plans without too much regret. How's your DS's face?

Thanks everyone for asking about me. I feel ok and thinking positive. I found a thread started by someone who had exactly the same happening and a fair few other women came forward too, so it's nice to know that it must be more common that you'd think. My sickness is getting worse and my boobs a touch sore (which they never are pre AF with me still bf) so hopefully these are all good signs.

We're now having some issues with the bank, who are kindly withholding £50000 from us. It all seems to do with the PIL's contribution, which they had sent by cheque. After learning that it might take 10 days to clear, we asked them to cancel the cheque and transfer the money instead. The cheque got cancelled, the amount came off our balance, and then the same amount got blocked, supposedly by the fraud team wanting to find out why that £50000 cheque bounced. It doesnt make any sense though, because that money was never actually in our account, so what's the problem and why withholding £50000 cleared funds?? Now they want DH to go to to the bank with his parents, who live 200 miles away, to confirm that they did cancel that cheque themselves at our request. I do hope they can get it sorted by Thursday. Because we have actually got all the funds ready to go, if only they let us use it! This will definitely go further. DH is thinking ombudsman and Watchdog.

Cupboarddoor · 18/01/2011 19:40

Hello everyone

Belgina I can get the contact details of the Head chap of mortgages of that red bank.... FB me if you are interested. Often, when you call direct, miraculous things can happen... I hope it all gets sorted for you. Also, good news about the continuing symptoms. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Dandy I just had to laugh at the wee-ing on a credit card image. I am glad you are so philosophical about the result, and exciting thinking about how life will move on as your DC grow up.

Llare how are the envelopes going?

Omnom wow, cooking a full roast whilst feeling nauseous, very impressive. Hope the sickness calms down soon and your return to work goes smoothly

Flip was thinking of you today, and so glad about the good result

Running sending you sympathies re: SPD and GD. I found SPD difficult to deal with, but it just magically disappeared once DS turned up. Not much help for now, though. Glad you are getting some decent support from GP for both issues.

Ses your week off sounds loverly

Smokey I pay £325 net per week for my nanny Shock and she is relatively junior so relatively cheap. But she is absolutely amazing... there is no way I could cope with working with her support for the childcare and house

So, things with me are up and down. I have some counselling sessions set up through work starting this evening. I'm feeling very nervous about it all, but I'm hoping it will help me think through things. I'm also going to try and avoid MN relationship threads, as they are driving me mad at the moment.

runningmonkey · 18/01/2011 20:06

dandy glad you are ok and feeling positive about the negative result iyswim (struggling to word what I mean coherently).

belgina glad you are thinking positive too. Hope your bank issues get sorted for Thurs, do try to take it easy on the packing and lifting won't you?

cupboard hope tonight is useful for you.

Hello to everyone else - typing on phone this has taken agesss so pribably a load of typos and cross posts. Apologies!
