Momino well done DD1 she sounds like she has really come a long way in a short time. She must have a lovely supportive mummy!!

Dandy Wow lots going on with you!! All sounds great (except the current health issues) Will you be heading to Christchurch when you are in NZ? If so give me a shout. I completely ran out of time before we left the uk and was sorry not to catch up with you again. Brilliant news about DHs job and your book.

Omnom Congrats!! Wow lots of BFP round here. I wonder (hope) its catching!!

We had a couple of great days away in the blue bus and I can report it travels well and was very comfortable to sleep in. We get lots of stares and definately have the cool factor. We are off again on Sunday to go up to the Kruger Park.

runningmonkey · 30/09/2010 07:10

Just having a quiz read while I attempt to eat some cereal.

omnom Woohoo! congrats. When is your due date? Mine is May 9th! I have joined the May 2011 thread in antenatal (think there is another in pregnancy as well). It is busy and fast moving so not keeping up v well but thought I would get in now and hopefully have a bit more time to catch up with it later. I did say a couple of weeks ago that I feel as if i am cheating on everyone here though by being on another thread :)

momi aww your post made me :) and get a bit teary too. How lovely and proud you must feel.

Morning to everyone else xx

runningmonkey · 30/09/2010 07:11

quiz = quick

smokeybacon · 30/09/2010 12:15

Another BFP!! Congratulations omnom and how lovely that you are due about the same time as running. Hope the first trimester goes quickly for you both.

momi another one who welled up at your DD at school. Good on her!

febes my dad is booking a trip to Kruger for April next year so I will await your reports and pics with interest. Your trip sounds utterly fabulous.

ses sounds like you and your DH had a productive chat. Heres hoping it all works out. NOthing wrong with a bit of practice on the TTC front in the meantime! Provided your DH's knee is up to it of course.

dandy and saus gorgeous pics of H and M on the swings on FB.

Controlled crying update on R. He has slept right through for the past 2 nights!! We have been quite determined with it - it was easier than I thought in the end, partly as R was not too bad. We only had a couple of nights where he cried for an hour or so. The rest of the time he has either settled himself or with a bit of a cuddle or a stroke. I know you aren't "supposed" to cuddle in CC, but a friend did with hers and said it meant she knew that if it soothed her DS, then he was ok. SO I went with that train of thought, and well, it seems to have worked.

pulapula · 30/09/2010 21:42

Smokey - glad the CC is working. I've been using it again with DS2 at bedtime, as he has started being really difficult at bedtime, and with PIL looking after him from Sunday, I want to make sure he's not too much trouble as he was self-settling really well. 2 nights down and last night he was awake until 7.55 and tonight it was 7.30 so getting better. DH also picked him up and cuddled him tonight - i don't think it goes against cc as long as you are not cuddling them to sleep.

omnom- congrats on the BFP. I am really wavering about TTC again. I have a list of pros and a list of cons, and not sure which to go with Grin. DH isn't sure either Hmm. Now i have my periods back, and have stopped my mini pill, i will need to take care if we decide not to TTC.

llare - how lovely to meet up with tummum - it reminds me that i was going to organise a Leeds meetup. I might message people on FB about it...

momino- i can imagine how you felt- so proud of her but a bit Sad that she doesn't need you so much. I am really proud of your DD too as I know what she was like the first time i met her - i think it was when we went for lunch with grumpy. My DD is OK I think - she was very clingy on Monday when i tried to leave her at school, which was unusual, but there were 2 or 3 others clinging to their mums so maybe she was just copying.

I had a Sad day at work today as it was my manager's last day at work- I've worked for her for 7 years and she's a great person to work for. On the plus side, I am getting a temporary promotion for 9 months Grin so more money (and more responsibility). It will be strange to not have her there anymore.

Dandy, congrats on finishing the book! are you pleased with it? can we read it sometime? HOpe your BP behaves soon.

Pula, sorry about your manaager leaving but hurrah for the temp promotion! that's excellent news.

Febes, love the Blue Bus! can't wait to seeyour next pics.

SmokeyB, you must be relieved the CC is working - well done, R!

Running/omnom, am so Envy of you on a DueMay(or any month really) thread. I miss that feeling! I wish I were 5 years younger. sigh. am so excited for all of you anyway.

very, very rainy here. went out to play group and now drying out at home.

the the above and everyone I didn't NC, hope you're all well.

essenceofSES · 01/10/2010 16:49

Ommnom - congrats :)

Dandy - v impressed that you have your book completed and potentially about to be published!!!
Hope your BP calms down.

Momino - how amazing are both DD1 and you! What a lot of progress she's made. You rightly should be proud (and a wee bit emotional!)

Pula - congrats on the temporary promotion!

Smokey - well done you and R on the CC. I'm debating taking that step with O. 90% of the time I still feed him to sleep and if/when at some point in the future I do stop BF, it would be good for him to be able to self settle anyway I think.

Running - hello! May 9th is a lovely day to have a baby!! Grin

Febes - I think you have the cool factor too! Love keeping track of your adventures!

Llare - how fantastic for you and Tummum to meet up for drinks Grin

All ok here - just hope the weather's not set in until the Spring now!
Have decided to stick with BF for now.
Still waiting to hear back from boss about increasing my hours. I'm already getting impatient for a positive answer!

momino · 01/10/2010 20:37

thanks Ses. good luck withe the BF and work. x

belgina · 01/10/2010 20:50

Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd pop in for a NC and all of that.

I didn't get called out in the end, so that was a first. I'm on call again tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed that I'm going to get away with it again. They've had 2 very busy nights, so hopefully that means tomorrow night will be calm...right?

dandy Lovely to see you again on here. Congrats on finishing your book. That must be such a relief and exciting at the same time. Great news about your DH's new job too. These situations often have the habit of turning out for the better Smile Fab trip you've got planned too. I'm not Envy at all. And finally: I hope they'll get to the bottom of your bp problems soon. Do you have to go to the GP to have it done?

omnom Congratulations Grin Amazing news. Another May 11 baby on the way!

smokey Glad to hear that the CC is working. Personally I've also always done it with picking up. I haven't done it with C, but have with the eldest 2.

llare Drinks with Tummum Grin Sounds like fun :) I wish I lived closer to one of us.

febes Sounds like you're having a wonderful time out there. I'm also following your adventures via fb :) It's a shame we didn't get to have a big London meet up goodbye party for you.

momi Well done to your dd. I can imagine how proud you must be of her. All these steps towards independence that our babies take are always bittersweet IMO. My own 2 now walk to school on their own. Although it's only less than 100m away and they don't need to cross any roads; I'm still finding it scary, but at nearly 7&9 I think that they can do it.

pula Congrats on your promotion, albeit temporary, but a promotion non the less Grin

ses Hope your boss and DH say yes to TTC soon :D How exiting all these new babies that'll be joining us soon!

Oh and I'm joining momi in the fits of Envy at all the pregnant ladies here. I'd love another one, but just like you, momi, we've got a pro and con list and the con one is winning at the moment :( If only we could afford a bigger house/have no ap we'd have another one in no time. There is a nice little house for sale just down the road from us, opposite the post office. It would do us, all I need is to win the lottery Grin

essenceofSES · 01/10/2010 21:07

Belgina - WOW at that house!! Have you bought a lottery ticket recently?!

Hello momino :)

Btw, DH has firmly said that if my income goes up as requested with boss, we'll be full on ttc, no excuses! Grin
Hurry up boss and say yes!!!

Blottedcopybook · 02/10/2010 10:22

Dandy Sorry you're feeling so crappy love, but well done on the running!

Feeling really stupid here but who is OmNom?

Very quick check-in from me. All well here, took the bars off Greer's cot a few weeks ago after discovering she can climb out and she has taken to getting into bed with her sister! Not going to discourage it but I'm now wondering about getting them a bigger bed to share. Is that weird?

We're in the Times today on P69. Ho hum.

belgina · 02/10/2010 11:02

blotted Shock Wow, that's clever of Greer. A tad worrying, but still very clever to do all that climbing. I don't think it's weird to concider getting them a bigger bed. But the bed sharing stage might be short lived. You never know.

Ooh and The Times, hey. That's a step up from that other paper you were in the other week Grin

Omnom Was Sophietom Once upon a time {smile]

Blottedcopybook · 02/10/2010 12:09

Ahhhh it all makes sense. And yes, MUCH happier about being in The Times ;)

llareggub · 02/10/2010 12:22

I saw you in The Times! Hope it all works out soon.

Currently battling a very bouncy DS2 on my lap who is feeding and jumping around. It can't be pleasant for him because I've just got back from a run. It was lovely in the sunshine.

Anyway, a while back I applied for the Mumsnet/Ford test drive day at Donnington as DH is a massive car fan. I had an email yesterday to say that we've been chosen. We're so excited. Since DH set up the business last year he has worked almost every day and evening and bar our weekend in Pembrokeshire, we've not had any time off. So we are looking forward to it very much.

essenceofSES · 02/10/2010 14:31

Llare - wow! How fantastic!!! The benefits of MN eh?

Blotted - must look at The Times and see :) Hope your appointment with the bank on Thurs goes well.

Belgina - I saw on FB about the way your morning started. Hoping your day is improving and eww at the spider on your face!

I've just got home from work and seems DH and O have had a lovely morning together. They managed to walk the dogs before the rain arrived.

climbing - O climbs everything he can but he's not climbed out of his cot yet, predominantly because he still has a gro-bag :)

essenceofSES · 02/10/2010 19:24

Me again!

Just sitting down to watch Strictly followed by XFactor :)

I've decided to get tough with O. He's still been BFing to sleep and in the mornings. I was debating stopping BF last week as it was getting painful as he has 16 teeth now and plays with the one he isn't feeding from. I've decided to continue for the moment though but I won't BF to sleep anymore. Last night and tonight I've fed him for 20 mins and then put him in his cot. Both nights he's cried and tonight he clung to me and wouldn't let go as I lowered him in. However, both nights he's settled asleep within 15mins so I know this is the right way to go.

Anyway, time to pause Strictly whilst I dish up dinner - chicken casserole :)

pulapula · 03/10/2010 13:51

ses - that's not bad for O settling to sleep considering he's used to being BF Smile. The CC has worked again for S who settled himself by night 3 without needing to pop and see him, and he now wakes up and plays in his cot and chats rather than cries so hopefully he'll be OK whilst we're away Smile. We leave tonight after the DCs are in bed, and don't get back until Weds now.

Loobylou36 · 03/10/2010 18:11

Hi all

Not sure if I can manage to keep up with all your news.

Sorry I have been absent for so long - things have been very up and down here.

Now things are settling down I'll have to try and catch up with you all.

belgina · 03/10/2010 21:56

ses Sounds like he's doing well with the not feeding to sleep. I have been bf C and putting her to bed awake for ages now. TBH for some reason she rarely falls asleep on the boob, no matter how long she feeds for Hmm
Thanks for asking about my day. It didn't really improve and ended up being very busy and then I got to bed, got myself nice and comfy and at that very minute the phone rang and work needed me to come in I did get a nice normal delivery though, so it wasn't too bad.

pula C had stopped going to sleep on her own as well and now she's doing it again, without intervention from my part though. I did discover that she likes me to leave the door open, but at the same time it has to be dark. If I walk out while it's light she'll cry (double Hmm) I'm hoping that by the time the nights get lighter again she'll be old enough for me to reason with her a little Confused

Hope everyone else is OK. I'm also wondering how flip is doing. I do remember her mentioning that she'd be without internet for a while after her move, but that seems to be a long time now. Haven't seen her on F/B or on the slingy forum either. Hope everything is OK.

Night everyone :)

momino · 03/10/2010 23:25

quick Hello. it's late and time for bed.
a bit fed up with the rain but had a good weekend anyway.
Belg, boo about being nice and comfy and the tel ringing, but glad it was a good delivery.

looby, hi Smile! I keep up with yourFB updates and glad to see you're well.

Blotted hope all goes well with your appt and wishing you all the best.

Pula have fun!

got to cut short now, so hello to everyone else.

hope you all and little ones are sleeping soundly.
