I am lurking and reading.

Chef - So glad Betty saga has been resolved. Love your guts and honesty. Hoping when I reach 38 I'll be the same, 6 years to go.

Going to go and try to eat something; not been feeling great this afternoon.

120 · 26/09/2010 20:21

Another one here with giving them sushi early, though less of the raw fish, more eel, california rolls, edamame and rice etc. Both of mine loved prawns at 20mo, though DD now won't eat them. She used to go through them a pint at a time!

Tea, hope you are eating something and feeling better. Often when I'm feeling really awful and stressed, it is just because I haven't eaten enough. Then I'm embarrased afterwards as I've usually made a huge and very heartfelt scene. Once I've eaten the strong feelings seem to disappear!

Chef well done on sorting the Betty saga. Glad to know I have a fellow jam maker who understands we sometimes get it wrong! I know exactly what you mean too about the antipodeans in west London. We used to live in Shepherd's Bush, and the amount of people wearing shorts and flip flops during winter used to wind me up a bit.

MJ, the sourdough isn't that hard - it took me three days to get the starter, then usually a day to feed it up enough to make a couple of loaves out of. It is important to get really nice flour though - you should be able to get my very favourite Bacheldre flour where you are - it is truly amazing.

HZ- yes to steak night & dinner party.

Pat, glad to hear things are going a bit better for you, though a double MRI is pretty horrendous.

Erm.. can't remember any more!

Tea Hey thanks. I've been working on my delivery of my honesty; I've been told sometimes I'm, urm, too direct. Wink Like, come on! I'm a Virgo, obsessively critical, and and University educated/trained Artist and that comes with a whole different set of survival rules. lol. Hope you feel better after you've eaten. Usually works for me too and drink water.

120 I have some lovely friends from Australia and NZ but sometimes I just wanted to scream 'OMG you people! Enough. I can't take it anymore! This can't be for real!!'. lol

chefswife · 26/09/2010 22:21

OMG I just can't keep up with my other baby thread. Its overwhelming. Well, its 'getting rid of the things that bother me week, so...' I think I'll fade out. No one will notice, I'm sure.

120 · 27/09/2010 07:29

lol chef. I'm sure you'll go back when all the pregger niggles kick in and there will be no one else to do the comparing with. It's good to have you back!

chef I don't bother with my ante-natal thread either, there are waaaay too many people on it, and after all I can barely keep up with this one Grin.

Good night here, he slept 9pm-7am in his own bed Smile. And then 7am until 8.30am snuggled with me Grin. I would hate to give up those snuggles.

Morning Everyone

Chef - I like your 'directness'. It makes a refreshing change. I am the worlds worst for not saying what I really think and they seething about it. I'm sure it would be much healthier for me to just let it all out! Grin

Had a shitty weekend which I won't bore you all with, as it was pretty mundane. Suffice to say I came on here yesterday and read a thread that upset me - about looking old. Really didn't help my mood and topped of the day by having a huge row with DH at midnight!

Feeling much better today, have got tonnes done, so just went back on the thread and told them I thought they were out of order.

Thread is here and my post from this morning is at the top of page 6 (my original post from yesterday was at the bottom of page 4). I posted yesterday and the b*ers ignored me. Angry Do you think I'm going to get flamed now? I tried to be as polite as possible but still get my point across? Oh who cares. Said my piece now I'll leave 'em to it.

Dd is being an extra cutey this morning. Have unearthed her brothers old click-clack race track and she's loving it. Also dug out a load of Bob the Builder and Postman Pat figures and she's had a lovely game with them - mostly with Pilchard and Jess the Cat!

Ds1 nearly knocked himself out on the pushchair handle on the way to school this morning! Shock Don't ask me how - he could fall over thin air that boy!

moosemama · 27/09/2010 11:17

Dog, how did I manage to miss your post? Confused Am sure you will be fine on your first day without dp - you are a fantastic Mum. You make it all sound so easy. Envy

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 27/09/2010 13:07

Pat - hadn't forgotten u
Glad thinks with dp looking up

Hi mm

moosemama · 27/09/2010 13:48

Think I got away with it on the other thread. It seems to have taken a turn for the better anyway. Wink

treedelivery · 27/09/2010 14:02

omg I can't catch.

Back in land of living until Thursday Smile

moosemama · 27/09/2010 16:12

Welcome back Tree. Smile Gotta run, supposed to be researching technology related news stories with ds1 for his literacy homework! Back later.

chefswife · 27/09/2010 21:05

MissJ I love the morning snuggles with DD when she comes in in the morning, after 7 mind you... if its before, i shuffle her back for more 'sleepy time'. Especially more so now because I'm hating the whole process of having to get up. First pregnancy I was able to nurture my sleepy head but not this time around. lol Funny how your body will store the after effects of lack of sleep, but you cannot store the sleep.

120 I'm lucky here because one of my mom friends is only a month ahead of me in her second pregnancy. I don't know if it because it was my first thread, (this one) that I felt more 'at home' here than over there. I'm not too concerned. I have all of you too. Wink

DH's new job is earlier in the day and he is home just at DD bedtime now so that is a nice change. He gets to bed at a better hour and gets up without a hassle. He loves getting up in the morning anyhow and now I don't feel so bad as he is getting better sleep. Yesterday, he made blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast and put on Bison stew for DD and I for dinner. Grin

Went to the gym today and put DD in the daycare for 70 minutes for $2. Its so perfect. Its just enough time to do 40 minute cardio and some free weights or yoga. While I was on the treadmill, Mum friend rang and asked DD and I to meet her and another mum and kids at Tumblebums; its for under 5's and is pretty self-explanatory...lol DD loves it. Its a safe, closed in area and there is nice seats for parents to sit in, coffee on, its pretty cool. So a very busy morning for DD and now that she just finished her lunch she has her second wind. God help me when I mention the 5 minute countdown to nap time.

moosemama · 27/09/2010 21:18

Evening all

Of all the newspaper articles in all the world - major world events, scientific advancement, plague, famine, war or any of the millions of other significant stories - my son chose this one! Hmm Grin

Not bad considering he desperately wanted to chose a technology related story! Shame he couldn't tell the difference between a 'news story' and a computer game review! Hmm

chefswife · 27/09/2010 21:32

That's funny, bloody zucchini. We've had a recent siting of a bear around here too so DD is not out in the yard unsupervised anymore because because the deer trail goes right though our property and the bears follow that. There's also a cougar up the mountain a bit but they tend to be a skiddish around humans. Speaking of deer, there was 6 in the driveway this morning. DD went crazy! OK... here I go... Vi... its nap time. OOOHHHHHHHHHHH

chefswife · 27/09/2010 21:41

Ok.. she went down. Grin Now for mummy to have a 'spa' shower... code word for exfoliating and shaving and just plain old standing under the hot water till I can't hack it anymore... I know I know, I should be waxing, but I haven't had the time in that DH schedule has been all over the place since being back on holidays.

moosemama · 27/09/2010 21:42

May the force be with you Chef!

and

Shock at your scary/dangerous wildlife! To think I have been keeping one of my living room windows closed cos I'm scared of the wolf spider that's sitting on a web across the top of the bush outside. Blush

Maybe I should throw a courgette at it! Blush

moosemama · 27/09/2010 21:44

Oh too late! Well done - exfoliating/shaving/waxing - what are these alien ablutions? Its so long since I did my legs I myself am in serious danger of being attacked by some woman wielding a courgette! Wink

Enjoy your shower.

chefswife · 28/09/2010 01:53

It was lovely. Then we went shopping and got some tights, little sweater, and some socks, for me too. I do a sock cull in the Spring and then come Fall, I realize, I have no socks except for running. lol.

Moose Ya wanna talk about spiders!!! I killed one last night whose thorax was the size of a 20p. Shock It was awful crunch beneath the paper towel. Ick. Everything is bigger in BC... they usually say that about Alberta, but I beg to differ. Although our province's motto is Supernatural British Columbia and is pretty fitting too.

OMG! I want a beer so bad. Grin

120 · 28/09/2010 09:31

Moose. PMSL at you and the wolf spider.

Ooh chef. Crunch. Yuck.

What you need is alchohol free beer. I developed a thing for Drive. I absolutely loved it. It's great in Bavaria as all the bars stock about 10 different varieties of AF beer, including Dunkles Weizen, which I love!
