pmsl!
we were talking about those on another thread and i was opissing myself thinking about some poor old dear falling asleep with one on and then waking up and going to answer the door..... hahahhaha

Hazellweenut · 14/10/2005 21:36

Right well, I just went to have a look at the details for the meet up (I note your last post SL) and actually, I can't make it, its the night before dd's christening so I will no doubt be panicing over the food and will have people staying. I REALLY was tempted.... Another time.... sigh...

startingtobehalloweenylover · 14/10/2005 21:38

hmm well i will let you off then!

ghostifer you should come though!

Hazellweenut · 14/10/2005 21:39

thanks miss.

roosmoo · 14/10/2005 22:01

nik, i'm v envious of your matching zapp fudmuff! & had no idea there was a matching change bag, could be a good replacement for my sad black rucsack...& then i can join the cool-change-bag clique
tell mr nik that's v impressive husbanding!

tipex -yes roo is getting cheeky abt his feeding, will latch on at a passing boob if anywhere within reach, total opportunist! it's pretty funny tho. can't see him stopping any time soon, he LOVES his boobmilk & isn't having much else atm, which i'm not too happy abt, but hey what can i do..?!

LOL at all your halloween names, ghostifer seems to be getting really into the spirit of it all!

startingtobehalloweenylover · 14/10/2005 22:05

Hazellweenut · 14/10/2005 22:21

Guess who's getting a zapp...... guess who's getting a zapp..... very exciting. Think I need to flog the triumph first but dh agreed it was great and dd looked v. happy in it !!

Tipex, have you looked at the pilko ? M&P ? We have the pramette but you can get just the pushchair version. I have been v. happy with it and its v. easy to fold and v. comfy just takes up more room in the boot and is a bit heavier !

Hazellweenut · 16/10/2005 01:18

As for stage 2 seats, I think we have a couple of months before dd is in one given she has only just reached 18 lbs but dh said he'd decided on one in JL today. It was the Loola one - but that's only cos it was black and went with the car !!!! We went with this weith stage 2 and its so heavy I now realise we should have gone for practicalilty over style !! You live and learn !

pjsmum · 16/10/2005 14:12

Tipex, came on to ask the exact same thing about stage one car seats. I've been told that the isofix is the safest, if your car is compatable. I've only had a quick look, as i hate shopping. They aren't cheap but what is in the wonderful world of babies.

startingtobehalloweenylover · 16/10/2005 22:07

we have the bebeconfort iseos car seat... it's really nice

the britax isofix came out top in the which report and i think the maxi cosi priori was next

obviously if you don't have an isofix car then the britax is no good!

pjsmum · 17/10/2005 08:47

StartingTBHLover, when did you start using this? Did you wait til Ds was 9kg? DD isn't yet about 8 and 1/2 (hasn't been weighed for ages) but her legs are sticking out of her car seat and starting to look a bit uncomfortable.

ghostifer · 17/10/2005 10:32

i bought the britax eclipse after the recommendation on mn, its really easy to fit in the car and you can tilt it back when they sleep

leon has been in it for about a month now, his legs were sticking out of the 1st one (he is long) and i felt it was unsafe; he has been sitting up unaided for a couple of months

hope that helps

ps 8 months today!!!

ghostifer · 17/10/2005 10:32

ps he's 8.5kilos now

startingtobehalloweenylover · 17/10/2005 21:12

i started using it mid september I think, just before we went on holiday. He was just 9kg.
Main reason I got it was because he was constantly straining to sit up in the other one and kept craning his head round to look at me! Figured he'd be happier on the 6 hour car journey if he was facing the other way!

On a side note I got him weighed today and he is 21lb 12oz! He almost took a step today, a kind of shuffle with one foot... but fell over! lol
I tried to get him to do it again but he was having none of it!

pjsmum · 17/10/2005 21:51

Thanks that. She looked so uncomfortable and kept straining to sit further forward. Our car is Isofix compatable so might opt for that but depends which one fits the best so its off to Jonh Lewis this week. DD has got another tooth, she looks like she's got fangs! Also has mananged to pull her self up which is fab but not when she does it in her cot and destroys everything in her reach including a tub of sudocrem. And i thought she was asleep! Hope all is well with you all.

startingtobehalloweenylover · 17/10/2005 21:55

i would defintiely go for the isofix! neither of our cars are compatible unfortunately!

Linus also wreaks havoc in the night/early morning... it's amazing what they can reach from the cot isn't it?

WitchHazellnut · 17/10/2005 22:09

Hi All

Another name change - DH had a burst of inspiration and is feeling very proud of himself !!

startingtobehalloweenylover · 17/10/2005 22:11

very clever!

ghostifer · 18/10/2005 12:24

ooooooh to linus and his first step! how are you going to manage!!!
what is 21lb in kilos?
was that the 8 month check? i'm taking leon tomorrow........

WitchHazellnut · 18/10/2005 15:28

Right, I need inspiration. Have been asked by rellies for a list already for dd for christmas and birthday (as its january). Have put some things down but have you guys thought what you are buying for christmas/first birthday ? I have found a great website which you can put a wish list up and link people to where you can buy things and they can go into it and take off things when they buy them which is great (bit like a wedding list but youu don't have buy them from this site) will make it easier to send the list to the two sides of the family !

pjsmum · 18/10/2005 17:54

I hadn't really thought about Christmas but been asked whether we would like a ball pool and a rocker (from M&P) for DD. What we'd really like is a miracle sleep cure What stuff do you already have? What things do you really don't want? Thanks for all the info on car seats, will hit the shops this week.

Thanks for the suggestions - My parents have already said they will get a rocker as this is what they bought my neice who is 6 months older than dd. They are going to get a wheely bug thing for her birthday too so they are sorted !! Definitely thinking about a swing as this is what me and my other brother bought our neice ! Have managed to get a bit of a list together of things now so it will have to do ! I know what you mean about them having so much - dd is being christened at end of Nov (although v. small), Christmas at end of Dec and then her birthday end of Jan ! She's going to be very disappointed at the end of Feb....
