It was and it wasn't fun Kate. I learned a hard lesson in that should I ride out again with such a large group I'll be using double reins and a martingale. It appears my nag would not fare well on the field in simply a snaffle & loose cavesson... :( Someone had a dig last night and said they could see me using my legs on her - I was a bit
at the time and didn't know what to say to defend myself - but then I realised that if I don't use my legs, only my hands then she goes up. Not exactly a fine compromise. Was very pissed off by one couple who kept saying "Guinness needs to go first" and I was thinking "wtf do you think is happening behind you?" and asked them to pick up the pace. My nag will happily go at the back if everyone is shifting, but will not tolerate half-halts just because people dawdle. Girl at front said she couldn't walk out faster because her horse has arthritis.
I cannot stand people who bimble along - make your fucking horse walk out.
rots, no, no cars were hurt during the exercise - I did manage to make wedding guests break in to a sprint though!
V pleased with myself actually, have not plaited up for over 20 years and I didn't do a half bad job if I say so myself. But... had forgotten how much harder it is to mount when you can't grab a handful of mane!
I left the reception very early, came home and hit the sack because I was absolutely exhausted and was hoping for 5-6 hours before Bear woke. Alas, he woke at midnight. So I got up and fed him, then he woke again at just before 4. I asked jailbait to see to him and he went off on one because he was tired. :( AIBU to think that if neither of us are working the next day we can both do a feed? We don't normally have him wake twice in one night. I'm getting by on 4-6 hours sleep a day and still running a house, going to the gym, riding, shopping etc. wheras he's getting as far as the DVD player...
Fucking tosser. We are getting married next month though.
The fucker isn't getting away with it that lightly.
