New Fred. Apologies for dullness of title - we need curly for witticisms.

slither what happens when one has one's 'chops pummelled'? It sounds vaguely perverted...

Curse that fucking droid cas. Is this his first visit or second?

SkiHorseWonAWean · 17/09/2010 10:13

My fury at jailbait last week was droid related... not sure why I told him to "just leave" at 3am this morning though. :( Possibly something to do with him putting Bear in to a disposable nappy we know doesn't fit properly... therefore me having to change a soaking wet baby and the bed at 2am... He cannot/will not get to grips with the washables - says they're "wet". I suggested he rub the inside of a disposable over his face if they're so dry... He refused, yet refuses to see the logic in this. :( Angry Fucking bellend.

It's all a bit IsupposeifIwantitdoneproperlyI'llhavetodoitmyself. :(

Btw - what disposables are you guys on? curly's friend showed me the new Pampers yesterday and they're as thin as panty liners... pathetic things. We do need some disposables for out and about though - and for dickweed to deal with. Are Boots own any good? Huggies? This is probably more directed at curly as we have skinny long ones. Oooer.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 17/09/2010 10:15

I'd like that Brazilian dancer from that BBC dance show audition last year to "pummel my chops". I want the secks - but not with my man. Oh the hollow laughs. I used to smirk when my friends said things like that. :(

OP posts:
SkiHorseWonAWean · 17/09/2010 10:16

Oh. And the cunt is still in bed because he's "tired". Well du-uh! Angry Angry Angry

Apols for cluster posting - it's either this or I do it from my remand cell. Dutch prisons are rather cushy though. And having met a few female murderers in prison (I wasn't an inmate) - I can say they're mostly lovely ladies who just had enough.

OP posts:
organiccarrotcake · 17/09/2010 11:15

ski ahh the "wet" thing. One of the most brilliant advertising campaigns in history. Sposie ads say they keep skin dry but don't say why - actually it's not necessary other than for the very few babies who dislike feeling wet. Being wet is ok.

cunty vodka - good thinking Grin. I took to drinking a glass of wine before bedtime before remembering that was not a good idea for co sleepers!

Disagree re homebirther. Why was she smug? Because she believed in herself and her body's ability to birth a healthy and well presented baby? She had a MW with a doppler - she was taking necessary precautions and there was nothing to say shewould have fought transfer if required. Her delivery was similar to mine - relaxed and controlled. Brilliant. Isn't "relaxed and controlled", whatever that means to us, what we all want? Sadly it doesn't always work that way as our bodies don't always do what we want and babies aren't always well presented but if they are then wonderful.

curly sorry about the droid :(

silver can't find ball pump [pissed off emot]. Will send asap - so sorry.

Tired today. Had cake and coffee with milk on Wed and seems C suffered yesterday. Still not settled. Bad mummy :( Back to dairy free although I've lost 2 lbs in a week without trying so that's a positive thing.

organiccarrotcake · 17/09/2010 11:17

ski why did you change baby and bed? His mistake!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 17/09/2010 12:06

rots You're right, and actually Bear doesn't mind being wet - poo he doesn't like - fair enough. But disposables aren't dry, they're dry on the outside fo sho, but inside they're slimy and just "strange". Confused I changed him because I was getting up to feed him and I didn't particularly want to cradle a wet baby who was so wet it was all the way up to his shoulders... quite an achievement considering the cot is propped up on books! Hmm

Am just back from hoss shop clutching white breeches, showing blouse (with built in stock) and white saddle cloth. Will wear interview jacket. Grin For once in my life got lucky and the biggest sizes in the hoss shop were also the cheapest - quite a relief as I ploughed through the 180 euros Anky breeches. Grin It's for Bonnie's wedding tomorrow and I figured it'd give me a kick start in to actually taking a dressage test or two - if I had the kit I mean.

OP posts:
rollerbaby · 17/09/2010 12:12

rots of course it was brilliant and I did shed a tear. My gripe is that some of the people they picked were a bit cliched in what the programme was trying to present. I just found her a bit grating beforehand. I found most of them a bit grating to be honest, so maybe that says more about me.

rollerbaby · 17/09/2010 12:13

ski make sure you post photos - sounds great!

CurlyCasper · 17/09/2010 12:14

is first proper visit cunty. Had a suspect bleed after lochia had stopped, but this is the real thing.

ski. Even though I would hardly say I have a skinny long one (more like short and chubby!), I shall talk nappies.

I combine huggies, pampers and washables. Current 'sposies are Huggies Size 3. I have had no problems with them. I find Pampers easier to put on, probably because they seem thinner (bit are just as absorbent), but Huggies look all soft and cosy IYSWIM.

Have now found that Motherease washables certainly work our better with booster in so there is no need to fold to fit. When folded a channel of wee seems to shoot straight up her back and through her clothes Hmm. I am also not keen on the supposed AirFlow overpants. They seem too sweaty-plasticky. Might get some fleecy ones. Am a bit concerned about how hot her belly and bum might get under all that!

rots are there bamboo booster for the Motherease nappies? Might get over that problem we had when I first tried the washable and she seemed drowned in a short space of time. She's sleeping through so well and I'd be scared to put her down in a washable at the moment. In fact, until I'm an expert, she'll only get washables while at home, and in the daytime.

Weighed Squeaks this morning on bathroom scales. It said 11 and a half pounds. Not bad considering she started at less than half of that.

I screamed at Cherry's home birther, something along the lines of "that birth SHOULD HAVE BEEN MINE!" Grin. It was very clear she'd done her hippo birth/dick GR stuff when she was talking about cats popping their kittens out.

ski I think we just have to accept that men are, generally, incompetent. I struggled to get mine to even sit on the sofa with his daughter so I could do housework the other day. Confused

I didn't realise they still showed Balamory! (is on CBeebies now) I can see us visiting Tobermory in a couple of years' time.

CurlyCasper · 17/09/2010 12:48

anyone still looking for courgette recipes?

chocolate courgette cake

SkiHorseWonAWean · 17/09/2010 12:50

It should be lovely honey, I just hope she doesn't freak. It's all been cleared by her fiance though so should be OK. We're leading the procession from the registry office to the church, and then to the reception. I can't imagine it's all going to run smoothly though... as there are one or two not very good at controlling their horses, or, fall off at the drop of a (top) hat! Grin

I've got to get my horse suited & booted by 1pm and I've not plaited a horse's mane since hmmmm... 1989? GrinShock

curly I really like the airflow wraps - they are a marked improvement on the Bambinex velcro ones that's fo sho - but rots is sending me a variety I think so I can discover what I like best. She knows her nappies! Grin I think the fleece wraps are gorgeous but shouldbeinjail would have a blue fit at the moisture. Hmm Going to nip along to Boots this afternoon - if his lordship wants sposies he can pay for them - but have heard good things about Huggies.

OP posts:
CluckyKate · 17/09/2010 13:20

I have heard Huggies are good for boys Ski. We've always used Pampers (baby-dry for nights and active for days) but DD has just decided to potty-train herself so it'll be nickers for her very soon Grin

OkieCokie · 17/09/2010 13:34

Pampers baby dry fan here. Clucky I found we refered to Active Fit as Active Shit as poo leaked eve
rywhere each time we tried them.

Sorry for Curly's droid Angry

OkieCokie · 17/09/2010 13:36

Silver the saddling blanket must only be a tenner in store as on line it is £20 and of stock..

Backinthebox · 17/09/2010 13:43

Ski get your brain round the idea of hunter plaits if you can - 9, 11 or 13 is correct, however big the plaits end up, and it is just as quick to stitch them in. If you go fro those standing up on top of the neck dressage plaits with white tape, though, get started now! You'll need about 312 of those in Grin.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 17/09/2010 13:51

I was planning on hunter! Wink 13 due to lack of being arsed to thin mane!

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 17/09/2010 16:36

Fuckit. Nappy on for less than 45 mins - pee all down legs of trousers. I'm not very good at this.

dummies - check
swaddle - check
tv watching 12-week-old - check (don't flame me!)
inability to use washable nappies - check
dog licking child's face at every opportunity - check
wishing shouty child would just shut up - check

this shouting this is getting on my wick. It was/is quite funny when all happy cooing shouts. But now we get angry looking/sounding shout (not crying) for reasons I cannot establish. ALL FUCKING DAY. When I speak to her, she just grins at me. Do I really have to chat to/play with her all day?

I managed to make her quiet by lying on sofa with her in a bear hold while watching a film this morning. Hardly productive.

I now really want to do the housework!

CUNextTuesday · 17/09/2010 17:36

Sounds like my idea of every day heaven curls. You have the husband rest of your life to do housework

FannyPriceless · 17/09/2010 18:15

curly It gets better soon. About the age that you start sending them off to the lovely local nursery for some half day sessions.Wink

I am not in a good place today. I even hesitated to come on to MN because I feel so crap at this. I tried to have a simple outing with both kids and it was a major fail. I came home in tears and have felt like crap ever since.

I feel like other parents with two children must have been let in on some secret but nobody has told me what it is yet. My son is 3 frickin' months old and I still have not managed one successful outing on my own with both kids!Sad

organiccarrotcake · 17/09/2010 19:21

fanny what's going wrong? Can you possibly sling Clyde or are the hips making that a no-go? Makes you hands-free for Bonnie. Yes I handle 2 kids but LC is 6 in 2 weeks - not a really small child. I don't know how you cope with B being so young.

curls You can buy pop-in bamboo boosters for ME nappies here - there's a drop-down list (choose bamboo, not dry). I sell lay-in bamboo boosters here which are shorter than the ME but thicker - where you need it. You can use both in one nappy.

Airflow wraps and Rikki wraps have the best PUL and airflow are more breathable than Rikki but less adjustable. Fleece wraps will leave you with a slightly damp babygown/grow but are great for overnight. Sounds odd - can't explain now. But airflow and rikki have the best PUL IME. Most others break down over time (I have most types available).

okie Yes, each person was a charicature. I was upset at Cherry, "they have decided to induce me" etc. All they decided, they're doing etc. I know this is what some people want but for me it's MY decision based muchly but nt entirely on what "they" recommend.

curls maybe your water hb next time? Mine was a bit like that only I didn't make so much noise LOL

FannyPriceless · 17/09/2010 21:48

rots Yes I do sling Clyde but today I thought hmm.. toddler music group? I'll take the double buggy and Clyde can sleep in the buggy while I'm singing with Bonnie. I didn't count on the group being held up a narrow twisty flight of stairs!Shock So had to beg help from some passing strangers to park the buggy and carry them both up. Clyde woke up straight away and screamed for a feed. Bonnie clung to me and cried. Not how it's supposed to work.Hmm Then I went for coffee with the other mums after and they both screamed and cried and I tried to juggle them both and it just wrecked it for everyone.

casp Sorry about droid. I think I now have to add that to my list of reasons why it is good to keep BF.
So the list reads:

  1. When we fly to NZ I don't have to make up bottles on the plane.
  2. It keeps the evil droid at bay.
er... that's it really.

Nappies, Clyde uses Pampers Baby dry. They are brilliant for him. The Active fit are hopeless. Bonnie was using Active fit but they recently started leaking really badly on her so we changed to Sainsbury's own brand and they actually rock.

SilverSky · 18/09/2010 07:20

Nappies I haz bought NatureCare I think. Got them from Boots and they are partly recyclable and also hopefully better for those who have sensitive skin. Well that is what we are starting off with.

curlysue oh the joys of being a woman. I too hate the droid and I know my first one post birth is going to be the mo' fo' of all times as I do suffer.

okie I was lucky and elbowed a woman in Boots out the way managed to grab the last one off the shelf! About time something went right eh !

Today we are going out to buy changing mat. The chest of drawers for the nursery that we bought aren't that great and I am quite disappointed in. It wasn't cheap nor uber expensive but it's peed me off. HI says we will have to make do as he is not dismantling to take back. I will have to make sure he uses it a lot so he can see what I mean and become as peed off as me

ski good luck with the mounted adventure. So are you going bareback or is she sitting behind the saddle?or have I completely twisted the facts?

SilverSky · 18/09/2010 07:23

dottyrotty if you can't find the pump don't worry! As and when! Tis kool.

Pummelling chops aka facial!!

Right - I am hank marvin! Off to the kitchen for stuffage.

CurlyCasper · 18/09/2010 12:29

Thanks for nappy info rotty, will sort summat when I get a chance.

This droid is the evilest. So painful and, sorry for TMI, but I'm going through a Tampax super every hour or so and it's really starting to piss me off. I hope this is just post-baby related. I used to be super heavy before I went on the pill 18 years ago, but I don't remember it being this bad! My shower last night was reminiscent of the first one I had after giving birth. At least SFF is happy to purchase "plugs" and "drip trays" (his words, not mine) alongside the bread and milk Smile

(yes, he's back in the good books. For now)

Hope you are all having a good weekend. Especially interested in hearing how the special ride goes ski.

silv we took a packet of the Boots Nature's Baby Care into hospital. They were just as good as any of the others we had (loads from a nappy cake!)
