Hello ladies, hope no one minds me taking the liberty of creating a new thread and approves of the name choice. We've been moving a bit slower than antenatal so though we'd most certainly have some year-olds by the time we finished this one!

Yoyoyo, butter pie in da house!

Lol, sorry, getting a bit giddy, snowed in!

Emmeline is full of energy lately, she is climbing over everything, clapping, squealing, shouting, banging things. it is exhausting but very funny.

DD1 is starting to get a bit bad tempered with her though!

I start full time work on Monday - eek!

Will go off and actually read the thread now, but I hope you are all ok :)

MsInterpret · 04/12/2010 13:56

Hi everyone!

Happy Birthday James & Alfie!! Grin

Rosa's birthday yesterday was really fun and it continues today - we're having her proper birthday tea at Granny and Grandad's house.

Am in the midst of waiting for birthday cake to cool so I can add the jam!

Will be back for proper catch up soon.

BeckyBendyLegs · 04/12/2010 16:29

Happy birthday James, Alfie and Rosa too!

No major news here: Toby can now say cat, again, book. Three very important words in our house!

scarlotti · 05/12/2010 16:15

Happy birthday to all the babies Grin

Not much to report here, colds floating around but nobody too sick thankfully.
We seem to be moving to just one nap a day now which will be great once he's settled into it.

Must dash but promise to be back soon to chat properly!

Ninjacat · 05/12/2010 21:38

Alfie says thank you for the birthday messages.
Hope Rosa enjoyed hers too.

Not a spot of snow here in Bristol. Are we the only ones in the country? I feel left out.

ursigurke · 05/12/2010 22:07

Good evening!
No news from here (at least "surprisingly" no new tooth Wink) Thanks for all your sympathies. I do wonder sometimes if she will ever stop...

skorpion, how did the decoration production go?

ButterPie, good luck for tomorrow!

lemontop, Isaac and the tree sound very cute!

longwayaway · 06/12/2010 05:32

Happy birthdays, Rosa James and Alfie! Just waiting on Lucy now, eh? And Grace and sassmonkey's Tristan. Then they'll all be one.

Not decorating at all here since we'll be out of town most of December... but I envy everyone else's festive-ness! Xmas Smile

Is it normal for babies to break out in spotty rashes after their 1 year jabs? Must go google...

DontWorryBaby · 06/12/2010 07:00

Speaking of Grace turning one soon - her little brother arrived recently so I think that's our forum's next baby! Grace09 is on my facebook list, not sure if she was on the group or not but she's another Glaswegian so we'd kept in touch a bit. Will have to persuade her to pop back & leave a message!

skorpion · 06/12/2010 09:41

Happy Birthday babies! Hope you had nice days to celebrate.

DWB goodness, that's a nice short gap between them. Hope they are all well and Grace09 returns to say hello :)

Ursi I made a start yesterday - three done. I have decided on little hearts, some felt, some felt and tartan, stitched and stuffed, with some buttons and little bells attached. Just wishing I didn't have to work, as it greatly interferes with the fun...

Lucy's birthday on Thursday.

MsInterpret · 06/12/2010 16:07

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

A spot of snow is all we have ninja. Am very jealous, especially as I've just seen some beautiful photos of Edinburgh in the snow on FB. Ah well, 2 weeks and we'll be there too!

Sorry to hear about the rash longwayaway, I'm afraid I can't tell you if that's normal or not. Arranging Rosa's jabs is on my to-do list right now.

Right off to start on the Thank You cards...

OP posts:
longwayaway · 06/12/2010 18:09

I've decided the rash was due to my mum's laundry soap - it's clearing up now anyway.

How exciting for Grace09!

MsI I've been horribly deficient in the Thank You note territory - after a long, unblemished history of sending them in a timely fashion I think I've only managed about five since LO was born. Good on you!

Hope work went OK today, Butterpie!

helips · 07/12/2010 12:43

Happy birthday to all the babies!

Sorry, too tired to post more, Millie still teething and dh away on business, yawn! Hopefully I will have the energy to post more instead of lurking soon!

ursigurke · 07/12/2010 12:46

14, nothinig more to say. Well except that she looks like this: Grin

But I have to say that Teetha works really well for us. I wish I had tried it earlier. Maybe something for you too, helips? Or any other chamomila products? We had another one to swallow which seemed to help as well.

DontWorryBaby · 07/12/2010 20:01

Wow Ursi. 14!! Ethan has 2. Grin

We've had some heavy snow in Scotland over the past couple of days so we've been snowed in. Not literally, but public transport has been cancelled and the police are advising that people don't drive so two days at home. It has been nice - my laundry is all up to date! Ethan has been great fun as well, he can now say something resembling "juice", "good", "banana" and a few others and loves to shake his head. Stubborn streak already! I'll try to get a bus to work tomorrow but one of my neighbours spent about 3 hours this morning getting to work on the buses and was freezing. I don't have the willpower to put up with that. And all buses home were cancelled about an hour ago. Hopefully the boss would let me leave at a decent time to get home but given that I've missed two days, I'm not too hopeful!

Hope everyone else is surviving the bad weather. Hobnob what's it like where you are?

Been thinking back to this time last year, I have very few memories of Christmas 2009. I remember bathing Ethan in the morning and what he wore and I know we visited both sets of parents but other than that, it's all a sleep-deprived haze! Still hasn't quite hit home that I'll be a mum to two in a few months... eek!

Scarlotti How are things going with your family? Hope the atmosphere at home is positive and the relate sessions have been helping.

scarlotti · 07/12/2010 22:34

Ursi what is teetha? I am intrigued..

DWB things at home are much calmer and I'm enjoying the space, thanks for asking. Relate is ok in that it is allowing us to say what we think. I am now concentrating on getting through Christmas as DH will be staying here for a few days, then a few days later we will all go and visit my Mum for new year. Once we're in January then the hard bit starts as we both have to sit down and be honest with each other as to how we feel. Am not sure we'll make it to be honest, but I do hope that however it ends up we can be kind to one another.

I have been asked at work if I would like to go permanent there! Big decision now as it would mean going back to 5 days but for the same money or a little less - but I would then have a job for life which is literally up the road and fits in with home life so well. Am going to have to do my sums now to see if I can afford to take it, or what can possibly give if not. They are a great bunch of people, a company I enjoy and flexible enough to accomodate family emergencies so I have to seriously consider it. I do have a while to mull it over as it would be in the early/middle part of next year and I have just been given another 6 month contract there - but am dreadful at waiting with these things so feel the need to do the maths now!!

DontWorryBaby · 07/12/2010 22:51

I think teetha is one of the little powder sachets. Having only had two teeth, we haven't got much experience with teething solutions but if it's the one we have, it certainly calms him down!

scarlotti pleased to hear things are calmer at home. Difficult times ahead but I suppose either result would improve things long term so hang in there. And very well done with the job offer - that's a huge compliment, particularly as you've had so much going on at home recently. You must be very good at your job.

JuicyLips · 08/12/2010 10:03

Annabelle only had two as well, wow in Awe of the teeth Ursi!

Scarlotti I too am glad to here things are calmer for you.

DWB we have words like "cat"/"Kat" coming through, (mum has a cat and my sister is called kat so bit confusing.) and "Down!!" in a commanding tone.

one of my work colleagues found out two weeks ago that she was 38 weeks pregnant. I am amazed as have heard of people not knowing they are pregnant but she was nearly full-term and still not realised, I had corners at this point! Baby not arrived yet, that got to be a shock hasn't it! Am happy for them though as they are a lovely couple. (work with both of the parents-to-be and luckily they are really happy.)

skorpion · 08/12/2010 11:22

JuicyLips I know a couple like this, too. The friend (bit on a larger side) had thought she had tummy troubles due to Atkins diet she'd been on (!!!), found out she was at term (!!!). Smoked and drank her way through the pregnancy as well as they had not even considered trying to have a baby then. The little girl was absolutely fine and now has a little brother. It is amazing, isn't it? I have a friend that absolutely refuses to believe it.

Only two teeth here as well. I think Paula will have some spare to go round if this continues Grin Grin

Scarlotti good to hear things have calmed down for you. And the job offer sounds very good, congratulations. It's nice to feel appreciated like this.

DWB Hope you're OK out there in the snow. (Well, actually I hope they let you stay at home, it sounds awful up there)

ursigurke · 08/12/2010 13:30

Thanks for all the "congratulations" on the teeth. skorpion you might be quite right. Sometimes I'm almost certain we'll end up with more than the usual 20. In that case I would be happy to trade them in for some hair. 1 tooth for a handful of hair? Does that sound fair? As you can guess, Paula is still virtually hairless.

scarlotti, as someone confirmed, Teetha are little sachets with chamomile in it. They seem to work quite well, I think also because they chew on it so maybe it gets directly massaged in the gums? But it contains lactose so maybe not every baby can take them.
And I think your job offer sound great. I'm hoping the result of your calculations will tell you the same.

DontWorryBaby · 08/12/2010 13:45

Juicy I find that really bizarre. Fair enough, the first four, maybe five months you might be forgiven but later on the movement is so obvious and I had a solid baby down one side of me so could hardly bend over to the right... how people are unaware they're pregnant I'll never understand!

Scarlotti I'm in work today, but my parents gave me a lift in and I've come with plenty of food so I don't need to go out at lunchtime. Tonight I'm going to the scissor sisters gig with my mum and DSIL so will wait in the office until they get here and be going straight from the office to the car, again. Not sure how tomorrow will go as I'll be back on public transport, I think, and the pavements are an absolute nightmare. There are about three or four inches of compacted snow and ice on them now, no sign of any gritters and the current temperature outside is -8C!!

DontWorryBaby · 08/12/2010 13:46

Oops that last comment should've been addressed to Skorpion! (Placenta brain!)

JuicyLips · 08/12/2010 13:57

DWB yes, Annabelle particularly felt like one big kicky mass. lol. Colleague has put on weight. some of the others are now saying they 'knew' she was pregnant but really she isn't that big for term, but still you would feel proper kicks. She does have some medical problems so that probably masked some of the symptoms. at least she found out before going into labour, otherwise she'd have an even bigger shock. It is amazing, skorpion! Cant wait to see the new baby!

Ninjacat · 08/12/2010 20:42

Happy Birthday Lucy Bear

katster37 · 08/12/2010 21:16

Happy Birthday Lucy!

And to Alfie, Rosa, and anyone else I have missed.

Wow - Grace09 - what impressive work! I thought I was having a small age gap!

BBL - liking Toby's extensive vocabulary!! We don't really have any actual words, just a high pitched squeak accompanied by a finger point when he wants something. He does say 'Errow' to other babies and when DH comes home, with a wave but that's about it.

Shattered today, and work tomorrow. Yuck.

lemontop · 09/12/2010 10:51

Isaac walked! He'd taken a couple of steps a few weeks ago without realising but last night I let go of his fingers and he walked a good 5/6 steps into the open on his own. I hope this might explain why he has been sleeping like a newborn for the last week or so!
