Hello ladies, hope no one minds me taking the liberty of creating a new thread and approves of the name choice. We've been moving a bit slower than antenatal so though we'd most certainly have some year-olds by the time we finished this one!

Helips Great news on Millie sleeping for you. Singapore sounds great. Glad you've settled in nicely. My goodness where has the last 4 months gone?!

skorpion · 18/11/2010 19:41

Helips Sounds like you're enjoying your time over there. Has it really been that long?

Scarlotti Good on you. Hopefully DH will start to appreciate you like he should have from the start.

Brood glad you're feeling better. And thanks for the web address, looks like there are some interesting articles on there. Lucy's nappies still not back to normal. Although I realised today - is there such a thing as normal with them? I'm not sure it is a virus thing, she does not have any other symptoms of being unwell... I suppose the nursery are just playing it safe.

DWB Hope you'll start feeling better soon.

Another night of disrupted sleep over here. I might try to tackle this tonight and leave her in her cot. Taking her in with us used to work to settle her down but now she just won't go back to sleep. I might try to dream feed her and see if that gives me more time.

Broodzilla · 18/11/2010 20:49

Helips you're LIVING in Singapore! Wow! I completely missed that! Enjoy the sunshine, we're supposed to be getting snow next week... Have you emigrated for good or have you been sent over for a while?

DWB Oh no, the constant hangover feeling is hideous... I think I've managed to forget about labour, but the nausea... not so much...

Fruit sounds like you've cracked the sleeping!

Skorpion I'm not sure where you live, but there is something like that going around here (South West), Lukas had really runny poos for a few days last week, didn't seem to be much else wrong with him but he's back to "normal" now... :) Actually, speaking of where you live... was it you that had a video on fb a while back with your little girl walking in the park and then falling over? Because that park looked exactly like the one around the corner from us! I got really excited!

Lukas has gone to bed after his first dose of Gaviscon tonight, so fingers crossed... I think at this point, if you told me that I need to perform an elaborate ritual that involves running up and down the street seven times, around the house clockwise and standing on my head whilst singing a lullaby backwards I'd do it. Wink

Broodzilla · 18/11/2010 20:52

Oh, and SirBoob when I am starting to feel frazzelled, I put on my favourite song of the moment and sing and dance like a loon. Lukas thinks it's funny... OR I do head-shoulders-knees-and-toes superfast. He likes that too... and it makes me feel like I get some aggro out.

JuicyLips · 19/11/2010 10:38

Erika Have done that on occasion too. sometimes they wind theselves up when tired and fall to sleep within a minute or two. This mummy thing is hard sometimes.

Annabelle seems to be eating all the time, am not used to a child who will eat everything that is put in front of her its revelation!

Also noticing that she wants more of her dad's attention than mine at the moment, definitely a daddy's girl. Hopefully it will even up somewhere down the line as I'm missing my cuddles!

I find they tend to get runny poos when teething, ds did dd seem to be following her brother's footsteps.

scarlotti · 19/11/2010 12:54

Yes, DS1 used to have awful nappies when teething, all that drool they swallow. Well, I didn't catch that Ioan was a human dustbin yesterday so had a broken night as he was hungry. We def have some sort of growth spurt going on as he's literally putting away anything he can get his hands on! He swipes plums from the fruit bowl as we walk past, and this morning struggled to shuffle under the table .... to retrieve a half eaten plum from yesterday I'd not cleared away Blush

Fruitpastels · 19/11/2010 13:09

You made me laugh Scarlotti with your plum story Grin. Glad to hear Ioan has his appetite back! DS1 also had terrible nappies when teething. He would be in bibs all of the time because of the drool. DS2 doesn't have this problem, but then he is lacking in the teeth department Wink. I used the Hipp Organic bedtime milk last night. C enjoyed it but didn't take down much. It's very thick and the bottle teat flow may be making it too hard for him to drink. I need to buy some faster flow teats later.

DontWorryBaby · 19/11/2010 13:38

Fruit Not been too bad thanks, I haven't actually been sick. I've had a bit of a cold recently and I think the tickly throat is making my gag reflex even more sensitive than normal. Hopefully a relaxing weekend will see me back to normal.

Brood Your 'head-shoulders-knees-and-toes superfast to get some aggro out' comment made me laugh out loud. There's a reference most non-parents won't get! Ahh how life changes when you have children...

scarlotti · 19/11/2010 16:45

Fruit yes, you need fast flow teats and you need to make sure it's mixed really well - I use a jug and a whisk so that there's no blobs of powder to stick in the teat.

MsInterpret · 19/11/2010 18:48

Grin at Ioan and the plums! Rosa is a human dustbin at the moment too. She is a toast fiend in particular and anything that resembles toast (sandwiches, oatcakes, breadsticks...hobnobs Blush) is eagerly accepted too.

How did last night go with the Gaviscon brood?

Good tip about the awful nappies = teething juicy. Rosa has very rosy cheeks today and a lot of drool so think we may have tooth no.7 on the way. DH just changed a nasty nappy before bath but I think that was the tuna pie for lunch from nursery.

Sorry, waaaayyy TMI.

OP posts:
DontWorryBaby · 19/11/2010 19:36

Tuna pie?! Sounds... Interesting!

MsInterpret · 19/11/2010 20:40

Quite.

OP posts:
SirBoobAlot · 19/11/2010 23:36

at tuna pie. Tuna is good. Pie is good. But tuna and pie?!

I can confirm that Ioan is a master plum eater Grin He looked so sweet when we last had the pleasure of his company, gnawing away quite happily on a whole plum. Whilst Bryn was eating peas and mushing cheese sauce into the table Hmm

Had a proud mummy moment earlier. Mum, Bryn and I went to see the girl I mentioned a while back, the one with the arse of a boyfriend? Well she's just moved into her house :) She's doing really well, and seems really happy. Its just her and her DS. But anyway, Bryn was sat looking at her DS, who is 16 weeks and was laying on his play mat. Bryn was taking pieces of out the jigsaw and trying to hand them to him, and when he wasn't reaching for them, he was making a nice little pile, obviously for when he started paying attention Grin Then, as he was crawling past (to find the washing machine, of course), he patted the little lad on his leg, very softly, like he does when he is stroking the dog. He then tried to give him a kiss, at which point I picked him up as the little one would either end up covered in slobber or in teeth marks. But it was so so cute :) Was very proud of how kind he was being!

We're having to spell out M I L K here if its said in relation to anything except boobs. Much to everyones entertainment, if Bryn hears "milk", he now gets very excited, starts signing it, clapping his hands, and practically eating his way through my clothes until said milk appears Hmm My brother and dad in particular find this hilarious if there is nothing on the TV.

PavlovtheCat · 20/11/2010 07:47

sirboob loving that you have to spell out the word 'milk' Grin clever Bryn !

brood how has the last couple of nights gone with the gaviscon? any better? i hope you have had a little bit of progress there.

scarlotti Ioan sounds gorgeous, just love the image of him swiping food as he walks past! Roo is particularly fond of foraging for his own food. he loves to grab a bit of toast from a plate that is not his, so this morning, i put some cut up toast onto a plate in the front room and watched him stood at the kids table chomping away giggling his head off! Glad it went ok with DH having the kids, if you can call them being up half the night as ok!! When does he have them again?

DWB i so do not envy you on the nausea front, the stomach bug the other day was plenty to remind me that my memories are still very raw o f that part of th pregnancy! Birth? a doddle, pregnancy, not quite so easy! it is still very much a deciding factor along with sleep deprivation on our (current) view of not having any more children. i do hope it passes soon and you get to enjoy it more. your scan pictures are fab btw!

Roo is into all things DD related. He in particular loves her new dolls house (pink) which he plays with, including the little dollies, going 'diddle diddle diddle' in conversation. He also likes to play with her food and microwave, pots and pans, loves putting things in the microwave and watching it go around (it works better than my one Wink). He also actually likes playing with my pots and pans too, and helping to stack the dishwasher (sits on the door) and the washing machine (almost gets into it!).

And his appetite?! Boy can the child eat! He had yesterday
breakfast - 1 whole weetabix with milk, two bits of toast
snack - two yoghurts, bit of toast
lunch - 1/3rd large jar of baby food (bad mummy emoticon), lots of fresh haddock (at a fish restaurant), some chips, large chunk of bread, handful of peas
Dinner - 2/3 large jar of baby food (from lunch), 1 whole sausage (cut in half lengthways and chomped on while i stuffed food into him), several bits of pasta, bit of bread, followed by an enormous bowl of reddy brek with half banana.

Shock

Hope some of you at least got a lie-in, 6am for me as usual!

PavlovtheCat · 20/11/2010 07:49

I was going to ask, do you think we talk more than other post-natal groups? I ask, as some of the titles of the other post-natal groups seem to indicate that the thread has been running a while? I do know we have often made it to the topics of the day, when we were ante-natal Grin gasbags

PavlovtheCat · 20/11/2010 08:01

the next post is from DD again. She wants to post something to 'my ladies', on her own page though. So here goes...

DontWorryBaby · 20/11/2010 08:15

Morning Bella, thanks for your lovely message! Grin

Pav we've been at this thread around 2.5 months! Not sure how we compare to others but compared to ourselves previously, that's nothing! And that is some appetite your boy has. Wonder if we should be feeding Ethan more...

PavlovtheCat · 20/11/2010 08:47

DWB DD did another sneaky one when i wasn't looking! she is now watching me type saying 'you need 'oh' 'oh'' and trying to press the 'o' button! We started to feed Roo more to help him through the night, he has always eaten lots, but we decided to offer him more, and DH one night just offered him like 3 yoghurts and he ate them all. I worried he would be sick! so now, we give him lots and just stuff it in til he refuses Blush not sure if it is the best way, but he clearly needs the calories. He appears to be eating more than his sister at the moment !

JuicyLips · 20/11/2010 09:27

Pav that sounds like what my Toby does when I type, although ds and dd are currently on their way home from spending the night at Nana's. (with Nana and Grandad obv!)
and dd definitely eats more than her brother, but perhaps that is just cos he is so fussy about food.

Sirboob love the proud mummy moments, their great.

SirBoobAlot · 20/11/2010 09:29

Bella your posts are lovely Grin

Have you ever noticed that when there is silence that's when you need to worry?

JuicyLips · 20/11/2010 10:14

yep!

weston · 20/11/2010 20:13

evening all

have been reading but haven't written in a while, can't believe xmas is suddenly creeping up! can think of lots for 3 year old but not 1 year old

having real issues with DD1 who is 4 in March, its like a horrid henry book with thankfully DD2 being like peter perfect but dealing with henry is difficult...

sweet red wine here i come

scarlotti · 20/11/2010 20:14

SirB loving the proud mummy moment - was great to see you both the other day and I thought Bryn looked good enough to eat munching on his peas Grin

Pav your DD is so sweet!

Well, we've gone from a hollow legged boy to one who doesn't want anything! He's keeping me on my toes for sure. The boys went to DH again last night and today, so I've been sorting out the house and getting used to having some sleep! When I picked them up today, DH said 'you're looking really good, very rested' - no shit sherlock - I wonder if any pennies are starting to drop? I think not Confused

Have been sorting out DS1's old toys today and trying to put stuff away for Ioan when he's older. Think I've probably got a few Christmases and birthday's covered GrinBlush[tight mummy emoticon]
