Well ladies, it's a bit in advance but here is the new thread, started especially early for Saartjie!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
YummyMummy1208 · 18/09/2010 18:52

Well, 5 weeks to go and i am sick of the sound of my moaning! i ache everywhere, my rib ache has now spread from just appearing at night times to now being there during the day when sitting down - my belly is so big...much bigger than last time around and im starting to panic just a little at the state im going to be in once baby is out of my belly!

Me and OH are off to the cinema tonight, although there is nothing on so not quite sure waht to watch, just couldnt pass up the opportunity of a babysitter!

Hello SilverSky, welcome to the thread! When do you finish work? i have 2 weeks left - 3 day weeks at that so im pretty much on the wind down now.

Where is our babysitter?!

Hope you're all having a good weekend, p.s who is due first out of us all? cant be long now for the early end of october people. Grin

DillyDora · 19/09/2010 13:08

Yummy are you doing any exercises for rib pain? Sit or stand, cross legged or whatever you can manage and gently reach one hand straight up in the air, and streeeetch it up, then really gently over to one side and breathe into the stretched side (this is a bit sore at first so go gently). Then repeat on the other side. Should help. Try to do it a few times a day. If you do it standing you can always reach up the wall/door. Hope it gets better.

I'm not due for yonks - 21st Oct....

x

YummyMummy1208 · 19/09/2010 15:46

Thanks Dilly ill try them later! ... yonks! ive gotta wait all the way to the 25th! :(

Im getting v.sick of every single person who asks the 'how long do you have left?' question looking absolutely amazed when i say 5 weeks - they all think im going to say '3 days!' or something im that huge. one even said 'r u sure its not 2 in there?!' today at the play centre. i smiled it off and said the usual - 'no, definitely one!'. its happening about 2 or 3 times a day now which is kind of annoying now. Anyone else getting this?
OH has taken DS1 to his nannys to give me a few hours peace Grin so im sat on the sofa with teen mom on with a box of after eights next to me and the laptop on my lap...sat on a mound of pillows! love it!

Howz everyones weekend? nearly 1 month left for me, cant wait to get to that mark!

RooBear · 19/09/2010 18:02

hi everyone, any news from anything? I have 3 weeks left at work but will pack my hospital bag tonight just incase! hello sliversky! i'm feeling good but can't shake off bad heartburn at the mo Sad

DillyDora · 19/09/2010 18:11

Aw sorry yummy but on the sofa with a box of after 8s sounds lovely! People are totally totally out of order with their bump comments - we watched a funny film the other day 'Far Away' I think it's called and it's about a pregnant couple - just full of comments about how big this woman is, DH couldn't believe it and I was saying 'but it's true! everyone wants to comment on yr bump!' You should watch it, it's nice.

Jacksmybaby · 19/09/2010 19:46

Hey all,

I keep getting the opposite with the bump comments - are you sure you're 8 months pg? You look about 6 - as if I might be lying! No, I am pretty sure I have put up with the crapness of being pg for 8 months, thank you very much. I don't have a massive sticky-out bump at all but have put on loads of weight everywhere else instead, so I basically just look huge and round all over rather than very heavily pg!

Have had a nice restful w/e, DH has been doing lots of father-son bonding time with DS to give me a break so have slept lots yay! Smile

Due dates: my cs is on 6th, I know Hevster is before me (5th) and I think there may have been a couple of others due in the first few days of Oct, can't remember who now.

rollerbaby · 19/09/2010 21:37

Hello ladies - I'm due on 31st October... can I come and join you?

Jenko77 · 20/09/2010 08:51

Welcome Honeymoo

I'm with you Jacks - What people say is 'Are you sure you only have 4 weeks left....? You're not that big' and what I hear is 'What a terrible mother you are - you're obviously not eating properly and neglecting to grow that poor little baby' Sad. But as DH keeps reminding me, as long as the midwife is happy with my measurements, and the kicks continue being as strong and frequent, then all is well Smile.

And I must admit to being the most fortunate pregnant person ever - I am only now starting to get an achey hip in bed, but other than that (and getting pretty exhausted by the evening) I have no symptoms. [please don't hate me!!].

Anyway, last week of work this week, and due on 14th October, so exciting times!! Grin

Have a good week everyone!

YummyMummy1208 · 20/09/2010 10:30

Hello honeymoo its nice to have someone on my end of the october scale! - due 25th! jealous of all u earlies. Envy

Dropped DS off at playgroup thismorning and managed to distract him into not noticing me leave so no tears, yay! Grin
Still feel terribly guilty sat at home without him though.

Im a bit poorly with a cold DS gave me so am resting lots today and feeling sorry for myself. 5 weeks to go today!woop. getting bored of this count down lark now, been counting down for so long!
lucky you jenko, last week at work - is it going to be a sad last week or are you just happy to finish? Im dreading next week (my last week) cos i dont want to be centre of attention if they plan a little gathering for me! Blush
Re the small comments jenko, i would be so pleased if just one person would say that to me now! instead they all love trying to scare the crap out of me at how huge my baby is going to be when she arrives...if i make it that long that is! I just want to wear a t-shirt saying the midwife says its lots of water not a big baby! but think i would look a little crazy if i did so have to keep smiling like it doesnt bother me and i havent heard that comment twenty times today already so p*ss off and keep your mouth shut!

KFW · 20/09/2010 10:32

morning ladies

We survived the NCT class! It was fairly intense, cramming it all into a weekend, but I think it was what worked best for us. We just wouldn't have made every evening class. DH is now feeling much happier about when to take me in and how to change a nappy. Bless. The boys learnt about bathing and nappy changing whilst we were having a breastfeeding session (with the infamous knitted boob Grin ) They all came back in looking terribly pleased with themselves. Apparently the teacher covered the dolls' bottoms with mustard so that they had something to clean up!

We built the chest of drawers yesterday evening. We have to build the wardrobe and the curtains are arriving on Thursday. The nursery should look like a real room then Smile

Have a good week everyone.

Hevster · 20/09/2010 11:34

three cheers for the return of the knitted boob! KFW glad you survived the NCT

welcome to those of you new to the thread and sorry about all the rude people who comment on the size of your bumps. I am with Jacks on the small bump side so maybe it's an HG thing as I was huge last time.

2 weeks tomorrow and we still haven't finalised her name, it's down to Isabella and Jessica and it's driving me mad, I think I found it easier to buy our house than I do to name this baby!

OP posts:
Jacksmybaby · 20/09/2010 13:25

Same here re names Hev. We are stuck between Matilda, Amy and Lucy now. Basically in order my top 3 are 1. Amy 2. Matilda 3. Lucy; and DH's order is 1. Lucy 2. Matilda and 3. Amy. So it's looking like Matilda (Tilly) is probably the overall compromise/winner!!

KFW Grin at the mustard - that's actually remarkably close to the real thing (in both colour and texture) I have to say!!

rollerbaby · 20/09/2010 13:33

Hello hello

I'm also quite on the larger side of things and people are shocked when I say I still have 6 weeks to go... The last scan we had a week ago showed the baby at 5lbs 8oz so he's definitely on the bigger side. I'm also measuring 6 weeks ahead. Whether this means I'll be early or just very uncomfortable remains to be seen!

yummymummy you are more or less on same countdown as me then. Only week and a half to go at work and then a list as long as your arm of stuff to do at home!

Our NCT starts next weekend - looking forward to it. I think Mr Moo is going to get the fear with all the practical exercises etc. I think it hit him when he tried on the baby bjorn last night that yes we are having a baby!

Not suffering too much yet, but the kicks are definitely getting more uncomfortable and I am huffing and puffing like a maniac.

Jacksmybaby · 20/09/2010 14:00

p.s. forgot to say, had another scan this a.m. and LO is still firmly bum-down, which am pleased about as it's looking like a VBAC would never have been a real option and ELCS was the right decision!

Welcome honeymoo and silversky btw. Smile

PatsyIsPreggers · 20/09/2010 14:03

Hi everyone - sorry not to have posted for a while. I only really post at work and it's been so hectic trying to get thisngs in a reasonable state to leave next week! Not that they've finalised anyone to take over from me yet, so still sitting here with all my beautifully prepared handover notes and nobody to hand them to...

Hurrah indeed for te knitted boob! Glad your classes went well KFW. Nappy changing lesson also seems like a v good idea Smile

I also continue to get small bump comments, even though I'm actually measuring just ahead of my dates now. People never say 'that bump looks exactly the right size for 36 weeks' though, do they?!

Jenko I too have had a symptomless pregnancy and am now worried that I will have a baby that doesn't sleep until it's 5 as revenge for the easy time I've had!

There was a lady in another office at my firn due on the same date as me (17 October)and she ended up having her baby last weekend - 5 weeks early. Have EVERYTHING packed and in the car now as don't want to be caught out like she was. She now has a beautiful little baby girl though. Lucky!

Sorry for long post - not sure when I'll be back as have another busy week at work, but will try to keep up with you all.

babybunting2010 · 20/09/2010 18:59

very jealous of there symptomless pregnancies and small bumps! I'm huge and suffering at the moment. Just want this baby out now :( have a nasty case of tonsilitis to top it all off but that's enough winging from me! We're in the same state re names i keep getting swayed by other people saying they do or don't like a name when it's none of their business! Loving the knitted boob re emerging. Didn't get any of that at my nct! Right going to try and eat something, does the vanilla in ice cream count as one of your fruit and veg? Hi to the newbies hope my constant moaning doesn't put you off. X

YummyMummy1208 · 21/09/2010 10:03

Well thismornings drop off of DS at playgroup didnt go down as well as id expected/hoped! :( stayed for half hour for him to still be crying when i left. really wishing i hadnt signed him up and pre paid for the half term now as its just stressing me out rather than letting me chill which was the idea. I feel like such an awful mum, leaving him there pining for me while i swan off home to sit around in the house all day. Oh well, ive paid now - over £200 so he will have to just grin and bare it for a few more weeks!

Really fed up now, want this huge belly gone and want to get back in the gym. Im already scared sh*tless about the state my belly is going to be left in once baby arrives but people passing on their opinions of how huge they think im going to be in 5 weeks time is just making it worse. i wish they would all just keep quiet but how do you stop complete strangers passing comments??i think once maternity leave starts ill just stay locked up in the house to avoid all comments! Grin

we have a few names to chose from as i dont want to decide until she's here and we have kept the 2 favourites secret so as to avoid those comments which keep swaying you babyb - Maddison and Lexie are our 2 we first chose which we tell people but we have Neveah(Ne-vey-a) and Elyssia which we havent told anyone about as we think it will be one of these and want to leave something to be a surprise!

Hmm what to do with my day to myself? I spent most of yesterday doing absolutely nothing so im thinking today i should at least do some 'nesting' and clean out a few cupboards!

RooBear · 21/09/2010 10:54

Morning all, I don't think I've got a small bump bb and after having no sickness for 8 months I threw up for the first time yesterday! I don't finish work until the 8th but may have to rethink as I'm getting very tired now.
Loving the names we have finalised ours as a Kieron Mark or a Erin Eve

everyone seems so much further on than me!

35+3

KFW · 21/09/2010 11:04

babyb you poor thing. tonsilitis would just about finish me off i reckon!

i am also feeling jumbo. i basically have a the same small frame i usually have but with a huge bump sticking out. one of my colleagues told me i look like i am wearing a fake pregnant belly. i look ridiculous. oh well. not too long to go now - focus on that Smile

yummy i am sure that it will get easier. i cant imagine what it's like yet (obviously) but i am sure you are doing the right thing - and think of his social skills developing away with all those other little ones Smile

hurrah for the knitted boob and let's hope it makes an appearance for honeymoo (a word of warning honeymoo: we were told to squeeze it and make a "nipple sandwich" for our babies Confused sounds painful!)

YummyMummy1208 · 21/09/2010 12:22

poo you RooBear and they tell us the sickness should be in the first trimester! i cant complain as iv only been sick a handful of times in total this pregnancy. Thats a week further on than when i finish roobear and im struggling now, it just feels as though im dragging it out and cant do much at work now.

Thanks KFW i do keep trying to remind myself that its making him more independent because he's such a mummy's boy he doesnt want anyone but me so hopefully this is the 'cruel to be kind' stage! Im the same as you though, same small frame but with ahuge (and i mean huge!) football shaped lump stuck on my front! measured myself round my waist yesterday - 42inches! my colleague measured 39 at 36 weeks and im only 35. :(

KFW · 21/09/2010 14:50

roobear i was going to finish on 8 oct, but i brought my mat leave forward two days so i am now finishing on wednesday 6 october and, weirdly, it has made me feel much better. why don't you do something like that? i think that a little can make a big difference.

Jenko77 · 22/09/2010 11:16

KFW 'Nipple sandwich'??? Shock Yikes!!

BabyB and RooBear Hope you're feeling a bit better today. Yummy Hope your DS is being brave and getting used to nursery.

Just had midwife appointment (37 wks tomorrow) and LO is 3/5 engaged, which apparently is about right for this stage.

With 3 days left at work, and baby getting into position - it's all getting very exciting... OMG... It's really going to happen, isn't it!?! Hmm

YummyMummy1208 · 22/09/2010 16:26

Its quiet on here thismorning ladies, are we all ok?

1 day down, 5 to go! Grin

RooBear · 22/09/2010 16:32

I'm around yummy! and yes jenko I am feeling better today thank you. Very tired though. I might leave a bit earlier kfw see how I go.

babybunting2010 · 22/09/2010 17:20

thanks jenko feeling loads better now thankfully! I'm actually already on maternity leave just started my second week. Am due 3 weeks today and hoping that i'm one of these people that has their baby early as feel ready now. Feel like i'm stuck in limbo between my old life with no baby and my new life as a mum! Yummy... Sounds like ds loves you very much but you're probably right about him needing this as much as you do! Bless his cotton socks! I'm actually lying in the bath at the sec... Oh the wonders of mat leave. X
