Well DS survived first day of Playgroup although today didnt go down so well...he was fine talking about it all morning but as soon as we walked in there he hid behind my leg and clung to me because he knew what was coming thismorning! when i left him i looked back through the window stupidly to see him shouting Mummy and crying. :(
I rang them at 9:30 though and she said he was fine and was playing happily now. Managed to sort myself out after having a little cry on the drive to work. Im so silly i swear.

Thanks Patsy, just cant wait to start maternity leave so i can spend all week with him, iv always suffered guilt over going back to work full time so now i can make up for it! Grin

Hope everyone else is ok today. :)

KFW · 07/09/2010 14:37

hi everyone.

babyb you poor thing, but how exxciting that the little one will be moving down soon!

patsy i am Envy at everyone having normal NCT classes.

DillyDora · 07/09/2010 17:58

OOoh, KFW you should have been able to wfh! Not fair! I did, though ironically our line was running...

Aw bless yummy us first timers have these joys yet to come - yikes!

Got the worst indigestion today... have tried everything, just sent DH out for liquid gaviscon as opposed to tablets. Am also trying to drink my whole 2l of water today to see if it will reduce the swelling in my feet (I am so obsessed...) boy that's really a lot of water....

YummyMummy1208 · 07/09/2010 20:27

i had swelling last time around, had a little in the bottoms of my legs a month or so back and since then have also been trying to drink lots of water, it has helped a lot to be honest and so far i have escaped gerbal features like i got last time! Grin

Iv sent OH to the garage after his gym trip to go get me some mints - my 3rd pack today and hes just arrived home with the goods! Cravings are so weird, i actually cant stop thinking about mints all day long, especially mornings and evenings when brushing mine/DS's teeth and the toothpaste smell hits me! Has anyone else had any weird cravings at all?

Another thing iv been meaning to get opinions on is this whole 'posture' thing. They say not to slouch back in armchairs and sit up straight or leaning slightly forward so as to help baby assume the right position - are people seriously not just slumping into their sofas at night time to watch tv? Its really hard work sitting forward when im so uncomfortable that i can only do it if i make a real effort which doesnt often happen!

Jenko77 · 08/09/2010 08:48

Hi all

Yummy I hope you and DS are still surviving playgroup.

I do think about the whole posture thing, but don't do much about it (same as pelvic floors really - must try harder!!). To avoid slouching in the evenings though I just lay flat out on the sofa, although I've had to adjust that as I used to lay on my right to watch TV, but as baby is on the right, I'm now laying on my left in the hope that he shifts over that side.

Any ideas why it's better to have baby's spine to the left as opposed the right? Or is it just something else to make us worry about?!?

Also, anyone heard from BabyB. Haven't seen her on here since her possible show at the end of last week....

Hevster · 08/09/2010 10:54

worried about BabyB....

Jacksmybaby · 08/09/2010 11:11

Hmm I just went onto FB (in a non-stalkerish way!) but she hasn't posted any status updates since Sunday. Hope you are ok BB!

Jacksmybaby · 08/09/2010 11:12

Ah, Roo x-posts, we had the same thought!

Jenko77 · 08/09/2010 11:14

Glad I'm not the only one worrying (if you know what I mean)....

Where are you BabyB???

RooBear · 08/09/2010 11:35

thanks for checking jacks !

YummyMummy1208 · 08/09/2010 12:41

Well i was wondering with the whole show thing if it meant she may have baby early... do you think she may have had it?

YummyMummy1208 · 08/09/2010 13:02

Random thought... ive been panicking a little lately - when it comes to bedtime (which by the way is around 9/10pm these days!) i lie in bed and think...'How on earth am i going to cope if i went into labour right now, im so shattered!?'

I wasnt as tired first time around but am now generally tired by 11am most days which seems normal to me its been so long but iv just suddenly started wondering how the heck i will cope with another 26 hr labour- i was up at 9:30am last time and he wasnt born until 11:31am the next day so i didnt sleep for 2 nearly 3 days, there is no way in hell i could do that again! Im thinking...lots of energy tablets for the labour bag!

RooBear · 08/09/2010 13:27

don't know about labour yummy as its my first! but I'm feeling the tiredness now, and i'm worried how I'm going to get through the next 5 weeks of work.

YummyMummy1208 · 08/09/2010 13:37

gosh you have 5 weeks left, im moaning at 3! Just fed up now, feels like im just dragging it out and its time for me to leave you know? are you having to prepare for the big 'handover' when you leave? Im starting to write up 'guides' on each of my accounts now so the others know where to look for things! - im not usually very good at cleaning up behind myself so this one is going to be tough!

RooBear · 08/09/2010 14:06

not really as I'm civil service so there is no replacement, just not taking anything new on and taking my time with my current stuff.

YummyMummy1208 · 08/09/2010 14:14

I do feel like im permanently dossing at work cos of not being able to take on anything new and most of my accounts ending but i dont have the energy to be working hard anyhow so good job really! plus i get to sit on here all day! Grin

Are your LO's starting to slow down yet? Iv been jumping at my desk all morning in pain from flumpette wriggling around like mad - it actually hurts now cos shes stretching so much. OH watched my belly in bed last nigth and now feels totally sorry for me as he said it looks v.painful how strong she's moving! Shes gone sleep now though as i havent felt anything much for an hour or so. Thankfully. :)

RooBear · 08/09/2010 15:06

oh yes, flump has been digging his/her feet in quite hard. And yes to dossing at work, its soooo quiet at the mo (starts getting busy again in jan) so I'm just not motivated and want to while away the next few weeks

PatsyIsPreggers · 09/09/2010 09:07

Good morning!

any news from BabyB yet? I hadn't put together the fact that she'd had a show with the possibility of a baby actually arriving. Doh!

Yummy and Roo, I know what you mean about bumpy's movements getting more noticeable and sometimes painful. I leant against my desk this mornign when I got in, baby objected and kicked out and I feel almost bruised now!

I too have nobody to hand over to yet for work. They thought they had got someone to come from another department on secondment to cover my leave, but she's pulled out, so I'm left with 10.5 days left in the office and nothing to tell any of my clients. Arrrrgh!

Had quite an eventful night last night. Got to bed at 10 - hurrah, early for once. 11.30pm managed to flail out in my sleep, knocking over whole pint glass of water onto my bedside table and pile of library books beside. 2.55am up to pee then awake for an hour. 5.12am LEG CRAMP!!!! stood at side of bed stretching out leg for 10 mins. Also lots of very vivid pregnancy dreams, though had a good one where baby latched on and fed easily straight away. Just my wishful thinking coming through there I think!

DillyDora · 09/09/2010 10:19

Morning!

yummy your post made me chuckle - my mum was the same, she told me she'd get into bed every night saying 'not tonight Baby, I'm sooooo tired!' and I was LO No1!

Yes, movements are getting slower but bigger and more uncomfortable, and I often have pain in my bladder/vag - is he standing on it? the pain goes right down! Ouchie!

Fortunately I'm still going to sleep again when I wake up, usually wake up because my bones hurt from SPD so I turn and fall back to sleep. Terrible dreams though....ugh....

Work - hmmm....all got a bit fraught but I feel at one remove from it. The course leader is back now and I have been filling her in on all that's happened, I had done so much for the coming year but it all seems to have been thrown out of the window which gets me down a bit...o well...

Jenko77 · 09/09/2010 12:31

Oh Dilly, sorry work is getting you down - at least you don't have long left at work.

I'm like Roo, finding it really hard to stay motivated, but luckily things aren't too busy for me either (also a civil servant - must be all the cut backs! Grin).

Patsy what a nightmare of a night you had - you must be exhausted today!! Good dream though - mine tend to me a little odd at the moment to say the least!!

Do you think BabyB had her baby and then went off to join her new friends on the September 2010 thread?? Sad

Hevster · 09/09/2010 13:11

3 cheers for the civil servants - looking very much like I will be in the redepolyment pool when I finish mat leave due to govt cutbacks.

I wonder if BabyB is stuck in hosp being monitored or something?

Jacksmybaby · 09/09/2010 13:25

I sent BB a message on FB, will let u know if I hear anything.

Get to have a rest this p.m. as my mum is picking DS up from pre-school and having him for the afternoon, thank goodness! Smile

Re movements, I am getting a real battering in the bladder too atm, Dilly! Had scan on Tues which confirmed LO is still breech as I thought, so feet wedged firmly into my pelvis, and a quite scary-looking bulging head bump to my right hand side under my boobs!

DS's new buggy board arrived today much to his great excitement! He wanted to go on it to pre-school, but I managed to convince him we would look a bit daft pushing an empty pram!

Did anyone else watch How to Look Good Naked last night? It freaked me out as one of the ladies had some really bad stretch marks on her tummy after having 3 kids - I can tell you I SLATHERED on the cocoa butter cream last night before bed!!

YummyMummy1208 · 09/09/2010 13:41

No i never seen it last night Jacks, it is a scary thought - i got the silvery ones and even though i cried my eyes out and thought it was the end of the world at the time, they are actually hardly noticable when i wear a bikini (pre second pregnancy ofcourse!!) so dont panic cos if you get them they usually fade to the silver ones anyway. I remember the night i first saw the dreaded things in my first pregnancy - i was asking for it really - scanning underneath my belly with a mirror in the bathroom just to re-assure myself that there werent any and then... i spotted them! my poor OH was in the bathroom aswell and so his face when i asked him to confirm if what i thought i saw was true was a picture bless him. then i went downstairs to cry at how i was going to have a horrible fat belly after and that he was never going to fancy me again. I laugh now thinking about it because it seems so silly now, 3 years on.

I was thinking of buying a buggy board, the one i need though is going to cost about £30 second hand and i just dont know if i desperately need one or not? Its one of those...ill buy it later things on my to do list!

Enjoy your rest Jacks! So nice when someone takes them off your hands for a bit, lovely as they are, they are such hard work when heavily pregnant. didnt realise how easy i had it first time around!

DillyDora · 09/09/2010 13:58

Jacks I reckon your LO is in the same position as mine - I've always had that odd bump! I hope these LOs will turn in time (I'm 34 weeks now).

Re stretch marks... I saw HtoLGN Jacks and had a sharp intake of breath I must say. I've been rubbing in lovely oils ( a friend bought me a really posh one which I thought was very kind!) but more to stop the itching than anything, I don't know that you can prevent them (sorry). But did I tell you? A woman at work had her 2 boys in her 40s and had a tummy tuck and o my god! It looks amazing, she looks like a teenager!
