sorry guys, not posted in ages, I do have the dreaded PND which i wasn't expecting as I was fine last time, but have the "happy" pills so am hoping that once they start to work I might become a little more human.

glad you folks are starting to get back in your jeans, I have 1 pair to go but I think that they may fit DD1 1st! Can't believe we are getting to the 6 month mark, no teeth or rolling here but Isabella has grown a third fold of fat on her legs!

KathMCB · 28/03/2011 17:40

Hev, sorry to hear about the PND, hope you are getting plenty of support.

We are doing away nicely and have a house at last! No rolling yet but very close...

Hevster · 28/03/2011 19:12

Kath, Excellent news about the house

eek! job assessment centre in London next week! Wish me luck. Need to find my work head and take off my mummy head for a few hours! LO has to come with me as we are still BF.........DH will be in charge and I need to start expressing!!! EEEKK!

Hevster · 29/03/2011 20:41

gosh good luck, if it helps at all i found my work head came back as soon as I made it back to the office after DD (and I liked being back at work!) not so sure this time as head all over the shop but go girl, you will be fine!

Sorry to hear about the PND Hev, hope the ADs are kicking in now. You will get through it! Smile

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day and was spoilt rotten.

We have just heard that DS has been allocated a place at the village school in September which is a big relief! Smile

Hevster · 06/04/2011 20:22

Jacks thats brilliant news I hope he loves it there. AD's not kicking in yet but then lack of sleep (DD1 not DD2) isn't helping - poor doc thought she had seen the back of me once I had DD2 but no, I still have to pop in and see her every week Smile

Jacksterbear · 27/04/2011 21:32

It's gone very quiet! How is everyone doing? x

KathMCB · 30/04/2011 21:30

not bad, we are moving into our own house at last (big hoorah!) My LO is six months old on Monday and really starting to show his cheeky monkey personality. He has been pretty hard to get to sleep at the moment which I am putting down to six month development streak. No sign of a job yet...

Jacksterbear · 01/05/2011 15:28

Ahhh the thread is not dead hurrah! Kath that's great news re the house. Hopefully something will come along soon on the job front?! x

Hevster · 03/05/2011 20:16

relieved not to have killed the thread!

Me too Hev! Grin

JellyJenko · 04/05/2011 08:38

All good here although back to work on 16th Sad. Fortunately we've found a good childminder and spending a lot of time there at the moment getting DS used to it.

Kath Congrats on the house! Smile

RooBear · 04/05/2011 21:54

Hey everyone-hope you remember me!!!! Things have changed dramatically since I last posted my problems in january, 2 months ago Erin was bf only and really struggled to get her to sleep, really struggled. Fast forward 2 months had she eats like a good un (weighs 13lb 11 now!) and sleeps 11 hours straight every night! started back at work this week too, so she had her first day with the cm and it went like a dream. Hope your all well and I hope I can rejoin now things have settled back down x Smile

Jacksterbear · 05/05/2011 10:33

Hey Roo great to hear from you and so glad things have improved so much for you Smile.

I am going back to work on 6th June which I'm v excited about although stressed about childcare, have a nanny for 2 days and my mum is doing the 3rd day, hope it will work out ok!

Jelly are u not looking fwd to going back to work?

JellyJenko · 05/05/2011 15:07

Jacks No, not looking forward to going back to work. I'm going to miss DS so much - he seems too little to cope without his mummy (although I know he'll cope much better than me). I'll be returning full time but initially taking one day off a week. We have a childminder for 3 days a week and then grandparents fighting over him for the other day!

I think it would be better if I was just working around the corner, but the thought of the commute fills me with dread. Sad

Hevster · 09/05/2011 19:52

seems like no time ago at all that we were looking forward to maternity leave and now we are all going back to work....argh!
things have been a bit stressed here - her ladyship (DD2) hasn't slept for more than an hour a time for 11 nights (ruined our holiday as we had to come home after 3 nights!) and so we have been in and out of the doctors and today spent most of the day at Salisbury hospital. It seems that she has had a Urine infection and they think has some gastro reflux thing so now that we have mediaction I am desperately hoping to get some kip!

trying to get a urine sample from a female baby is not fun!

hope you are all doing ok

Hev oh no that sounds horrible hope things start improving soon!

JJ good luck with the return next week!

So strange that it's well over a year since this thread first started, and look how things have changed for us all!

JellyJenko · 11/05/2011 18:56

Hev How on earth did you get that sample? Just holding her over a potty until she performs??

I need some advice from any ex-bf-ers. I had whittled down to just an evening feed and then totally stopped bf-ing about a week ago but one boob is refusing to give up. It's hard and sore and leaks regularly. How long will this go on for? Any ideas? (My breast pump is now in the loft, and I can't hand express.)

Also, I'm now a hormonal mess and getting quite down. I'm thinking that my boob's persistance is telling me to start bf-ing in the evening again.... or even not go back to work.... Hmm

Hevster · 12/05/2011 20:01

Jenko i didn't bf but mine were sore and leaky for nearly 3 weeks after having DD2 and only 48 hrs after DD1. Sorry that you are down and hormonal (hormones are evil) hope you feel better soon and your boob makes it's mind up. (am I allowed to chuckle at the thought of phoning work and saying sorry I can't come in my boob won't let me!!!! Grin )

As for the sample, a potty would have been great as she could have sat on it, however muggins here had to have her sat on my lap with a small pot in one hand to catch the pee. Safe to say that was the end of the lunch in Salisbury plan!

on the up side the medication is working and DD2 feels an awful lot better now that I have stopped poisening her with tomato!

RooBear · 14/05/2011 16:01

Hey guys, I want to reassure those of you going back to work. Erin is part Childminder and part MIL and shes taken to it great, not kicked off once! plus i get a lovely smile when I collect her which makes my day. It will work out fine ladies!

JellyJenko · 15/05/2011 13:44

Thanks for the boob info Hev, and feel free to chuckle away. Fortunatly (?!?!) I am just recovering from flu and haven't eaten for 3 days, so my boob, along with the rest of me, has shrivelled up and shrunk, so no more leaking. Am now very glad I gave up bf-ing when I did - no way could I have carried on through flu!! Got some meds from the emergency doc this morning so that I can eat today and go to work tomorrow - seemed wrong phoning in sick on my first day back.
Hev Glad DD2 is all better.

And thanks Roo. I'm sure it will all be fine. Hormones have evened out and (dare I say it?) I'm almost looking forward to being able to read a book on the train and drink hot coffee!!! Grin

Jacksterbear · 15/05/2011 16:24

Oh no how rubbish being sick on your 1st day back Jenko! Hope you improve a bit by tomorrow. The train journey into work (I will have 30 mins on the train into London - you?) is one of the things I'm looking forward to most! A book and a coffee and half an hour of peace - fantastic!

Hevster · 16/05/2011 16:20

quite envious of you peeps going back to work, I have been signed off with PND and stress, laughably the stress is caused by work as the have applied to the Trade Union to have my post disestablished so when I go back I go into the redeployment pool and have to start applying for posts and going for interviews etc, which wouldn't be so bad normally but as the MoD have got to cut thousands of posts there is naff all about! what's worse is the world and his wife knew my post would be cut before I got pregnant and noone has covered in my absence but nasty evil ineffective boss has put off handing in my post till now so she doesn't have to provide me with a job! grrrrrrrrr
