Well ladies, it's a bit in advance but here is the new thread, started especially early for Saartjie!

Arghh, am now having paronoid visions of colleagues googling me for a laugh and coming across this thread (not that I have said anything particularly juicy on here!!) so have asked for my previous post to be deleted! Thanks for pointing this out to me anything...!! Smile

JellyJenko · 12/02/2011 20:06

Anything I've added you on facebook, and through you I've added a couple of others (hopefully!!).

It's very strange having real names and faces after all this time - and I'm loving all the baby photos - just gorgeous! Grin

As for meeting up, London is always good for me!

Hevster · 13/02/2011 21:31

blimey I have missed loads, been a mad couple of days as Isabella has been ill for over a week and has gone from Angel to monster!

Feel like an old bird (35) compared to the rest of you, which is odd as I am the youngest of my gang at home (met at post natal group with DD1 (Daisy) in 2007)
I'm Heather, known as Hev, am a civil servant working in Bath, was born in Frome (next street to Jenson Button) and now live in Warminster. Am blonde and married to Simon, happy to meet up pretty much wherever and go back to work in June (if I have a post to go back to!)
you can find me on facebook (hev cooper)

we are weaning and i had forgotten how messy it is!

Arhhg....have a had a shit day today. He cried and so did I ...think I need some more sleep. His teeth are bugging him and he is up every two hours at night....am really thinking I need to stop co-sleeping as he seems to think he has milk on tap...

Deep breath and a bowl of ice cream has sorted me out though..:)

JazzieJeff · 15/02/2011 19:41

Awww kath that sucks Sad we had a bad one last Friday; it seems to be worst just before bed with a combination of overtiredness and his teeth. It's horrible. I have been rubbing teething gel on his hands because he chews his fingers in exactly the right place iyswim. Trying to get DS to use those teethers you put in the freezer but he just licks the ice off them Grin Have a Brew and a Biscuit you deserve it Smile

KathMCB · 15/02/2011 20:16

thanks! hubby took over when he got back and I had two hours sleep which felt better. Haagan Daaz is in my hand as we type

JazzieJeff · 16/02/2011 16:54

How did it go today kath? Xx

KathMCB · 16/02/2011 21:08

Better thanks Jazzie. Had a decent nights sleep and DH was home at 3pm to help out a bit. LO is just hard work at the minute but once I got sleep I felt LOADS better!

JellyJenko · 17/02/2011 10:46

Kath So glad you said that your LO is hard work at the mo. I was only saying to DH last night that I thought it was meant to be getting easier now, but looking after DS is just becoming more hard work. I'm knackered!

On the plus side, I joined WW yesterday, so should be able to fit into my pre-preg clothes again soon! Grin

KathMCB · 17/02/2011 10:57

I think it must be all a developmental thing? He is still a sweetheart but I am finding it quite relentless at the moment.

Good luck with the WW. I always do well during the day but its the ice cream and hobnobs at nights that are keeping the last half stone on (that and BF I think)

Hevster · 17/02/2011 11:32

Jenko ww is ace, I have lost 21lbs in 6 weeks and am now eating into the pre pregnancy stone that had crept on when I wasn't looking Grin

sorry those of you having a tough time, it does get easier as the challenges change!

JazzieJeff · 17/02/2011 11:42

Another vote for WW here. They're brilliant, I'm going to join again next week I think, I've got that last stone to srop and I just seemed to stall over Christmas and not get going again Blush

kath I found getting out to as many groups as possible lately has helped; activity groups like swimming, baby massage, baby yoga etc etc because it tires them out. After 25 minutes of swimming DS is totally knackered and sleeps for 2 hours solid. It's a bit of a pain in the arse because the session is at 9:30am but it's totally worth it. I don't even really chat to anyone else, so not sure if it's about that, probably more about doing something structured with him. I'm finding now that if I'm not careful, I'm in all day and counting down the hours and minutes until DH gets home. The surestart centres are good too; they do free baby massage classes at ours Smile

Jacksterbear · 17/02/2011 12:41

Bloody hell 21lbs in 6 wks??! Well done u Hev! Smile Now quite tempted to join...

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 17/02/2011 13:21

Jazzie - I completely agree! I try to put as many activities in Tilly's life as possible and it seems to make her happier and more content...

On a Monday we do baby sensory, then meet my friend for lunch.

On a Tuesday we swim.

On a Wednesday we do caterpillar music.

On a Thursday rhyme time then lunch with other mummies!

On a Friday gymboree (which I can't recommend enough! She looooooooves it!)

On a Saturday swim lesson...

And on a Sunday she moans ALL DAY!!

(looks frantically online for a Sunday activity!)

And very well done!! Good god I need to lose weight...
The cake at lunch taunts me though!! Lol

JazzieJeff · 17/02/2011 13:38

On Sunday we go to the supermarket or the garden centre; DS sits in the trolley and loves looking at all the bright flowers/packaging. More fool him!

I live in hillbillyland Alcatraz Cornwall and even though I have to drive to some; we still have four groups/activities during the week and I try to meet up with people for the other three days. anything ds is much happier too since I started getting out and about more and doing engaging activities with him. If we go swimming in the morning and shopping in the afternoon he's totally screwed by 6pm and bellowing for his cot by 6:30pm.

Hevster · 17/02/2011 14:21

if anyone is joining ww, they have a deal if you do it on line (jusy under £30 for 3 months) and then if you join through quidco cashback website you can get £30 cashback making it free!

just been to town and had DD2's passport photo done, can't quite believe a passport for her for 5 years is £50!

KathMCB · 17/02/2011 15:42

Anything what is gymboree??? Currently we do baby massage on a Tuesday, Playgroup on a Wednesday, Busy babies on a Thursday (kinda like rhyme time I think) and on a weekend we go on a long walk with DH but I quite fancy the swimming so will start that next week if possible.

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 17/02/2011 17:26

Gymboree is a class for pre crawlers... Singing, puppets, musical instruments, slides, big bouncy balls, a parachute, scarves! So much... She is wide eyed and laughing the whole hour!

www.gymboree-uk.com/.

Get on it ladies! They sleep for hours after!

Xx

JazzieJeff · 17/02/2011 18:15

Yet another thing we don't have in Cornwall. Sniff. We go swimming twice a week kath it's brilliant. Doesn't matter where you take them, but ds crashes for at least 2 hours after 25 minutes in the pool. Winner Smile

KathMCB · 17/02/2011 19:02

Swimming it is then......we don't seem to have gymboree in the North East either...!

JazzieJeff · 17/02/2011 19:31

You won't regret it kath Smile Sainsbury's has some reasonably priced boy's swim kit; it's more full sun suit things for teenies now rather than shorts, although Gap kids have some cute ones. Think we got DS's little suit at Sainsbos for £8; brilliant for them at this age. Don't forget your swim nappies now, don't want any blowouts in the pool Grin

PatsyPlusOne · 18/02/2011 09:13

Hi everyone. First of all apologies as I have not posted for absolutely ages. I can't remember where I left off in my story, but in the end I got an absolutely horrific breast abscess due to mismanaged mastitis and ended up in hospital twice, plus back again several times a week as an outpatient. They weren't able to drain it successfully with a needle, so ended up under general anasthetic (sp) and now have a huge crater in my left boob where they cleared the gunk out. Thought I had more time to write, but can hear ds stirring, so will return later. P xx

Jacksterbear · 18/02/2011 10:37

OMG Patsy that is horrific poor u!! Sad

KathMCB · 18/02/2011 13:32

You poor thing, you deserve the best Mothers Day present ever when it comes around!

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 18/02/2011 17:14

You do! Thats awful :(

At least its coming to the end now? xxx
