Well ladies, it's a bit in advance but here is the new thread, started especially early for Saartjie!

Grin at anything shopping in John Lewis - buying prams is lush, I think I have a secret addiction to buying prams and pretty nappies!

hi ladies

I was on the ante natal thread but dissapeared after my son was born, it all got a bit hectic. so apologies but am aiming to be back to stay now.

How is everyone?

All enjoying your babies?

xx

JazzieJeff · 27/01/2011 17:24

Hi Katy welcome back Smile hope you're feeling well.

anything I want a new pram and carseat too, no real reason I just fancy it. But I've got a bugaboo chameleon system which is probably better equipped (and worth more than) my car. So I don't think DH would be best pleased!

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 27/01/2011 17:49

Hi Jazzie!

Yes, I have that bugaboo too... I must admit I was worried about leaving it outside Gymboree and stuff in case it got stolen :p

So I'm keeping my bugaboo for 'best' and using this quinny zapp xtra for holidays / rhyme time / etc...

DH thinks I'll never use my other pram again! And I made him buy me a great big 4x4 so I could fit it in :p

Xx

Katy86 · 28/01/2011 09:25

Hi ya Jazzie!

I have that buggy too! i love it but like anything i get scared it will get stolen lol.

Is there a list somewhere of everyones babys names and weights etc? xxx

JazzieJeff · 28/01/2011 19:32

Katy I've not seen one. Hope you don't mind but I looked at your profile pics; I thought you might be a friend in rl; you're not but you have a beautiful daughter. How lucky you are.

anything ooooh jealous of your 4X4 trying to get DH to buy me one, but as we both live and work in the same town.... Well, my campaign isn't going brilliantly. Help me! I don't want a BMW estate! I'm not 57!

Jacksterbear · 28/01/2011 20:14

Katy I started a list ages ago but it was incomplete, also no idea how to find it now - it's somewhere in this thread! Will see if I can search the thread for it.

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 28/01/2011 20:41

Jazzie - don't be jealous at all!! It sounded good in principle but I'm now a local hate figure with my massive car that I can't drive (true!) with one little baby in the back... :p

I can't park it at all! I've actually left Bentalls car park before because I cried with frustration getting into a space!

(I want my peugeot back! :p)

Katy86 · 29/01/2011 14:19

awww thanks jazzie very sweet of ya :)

Never mind was just me being nosey wanting to know what everyone called their bundles :)
xx

JazzieJeff · 29/01/2011 16:46

anything the less said about parking, the better. Round here there's loads of open guttering in the streets, I struggle to control my hatchback into a parking space, and the less said about last months parking shennanigans, the better

Katy you're welcome. Called my son Danny London on account of him being a cool little dude and he weighed 6lbs 12oz.

KathMCB · 29/01/2011 20:05

Katy my little one is called Cormac and he was 6lbs 8oz

I am still driving my Mini D (can't give it up) but my back is giving way from taking him in and out in it! May need to move to more practical car when he gets a bit older :)

Hevster · 30/01/2011 13:50

Jazzie feel free to laugh at my estate car - it's so huge I don't have to worry about how I pack (until the shopping falls on the dog!) Grin

Just marking my place after a week-end where DD1 appeared to be replaced by a MONSTERCHILD!

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 02/02/2011 12:25

Tilly slept for 13 hours last night.

I feel like a human again.
I have washed hair.
My house is clean.
I've done an Internet shop.
I spoke to my husband!
Her nappy was HUGE!

Lol x

KathMCB · 02/02/2011 13:26

my monsterchild is getting worse!!!! He WILL NOT be put down without crying!

anything what did you do different???!!!!

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 02/02/2011 16:13

It could have just been a fluke!

Usually she goes to bed at midnight or 1, and sleeps until 8/9, then a feed, then 2 hours or so more sleep..

But lately we've had to be places (Gymboree/swimming/ rhyme time) in the mornings so I needed to change things around a bit.. (the lay in was nice though!!)

So I upped all her milks by 1oz to 7oz... Fed her every 4/5 hours during the day, put her to bed at 9 after a bath, baby massage and bottle (tightly swaddled, with a dummy, v tech mobile on that has lights and plays continuously for 20 mins - best purchase ever btw!) had to pop in and put her dummy back in at 5 and 10 past...

Then she woke up at 8... I put her dummy in while I warmed her bottle and left her in the crib...

And she went back to sleep till about 10.20!!

Tonight will probably be hell :p

Hi ladies

I haven't checked MN for ages. It's good to see you're still here! My DD will be 14 weeks tomorrow.

I'll try and keep more of an eye on what's going on (ok so it won't be difficult to improve on my utterly lame effort in recent weeks) and to contribute as well.

I hope everyone is well. I'm afraid I haven't read through to catch up.

Happy new year! Can't believe it's February already. Yikes!

X

Katy86 · 04/02/2011 16:20

lovely names ladies!!! my sons Harvey James and he was 9lb 6oz xxx

bearbrains · 04/02/2011 16:47

Hi all, KathMCB, how has your L'il monster been in the last few days? He sounds to be going through a very similar phase to DD, she will be 15 weeks on Monday and after sleeping well (last feed 11 then 5 hours sleep, feed then sleep til 8ish)she has sudddenly become really clingy and her feeding routine is all over the place,I'm really hoping it's just a 'phase'! Confused

KathMCB · 04/02/2011 21:48

bearbrains we have the same issues at the moment!! He has turned into velcro baby. I had given up on slings but I dug out the Kari-me that someone got me for Xmas and it has saved me (and my back!) as my LO has major crying fits when put down on his mat, his crib, his cot and his car seat......he is also feeding erratically although still sleeping well (feed every three hours but he is asleep by 8pm and does not really open his eyes to feed!)

I think it is just a phase as he is learning so much and it must get overwhelming? I also think he is teething a bit...

What do you do to cope? I go on a lot of long walks. He has been beter today (he is 14 weeks on Monday) so maybe he is getting to know the world a bit better...he is also laughing lots! :o

bearbrains · 05/02/2011 15:50

KathMCB I also go on lots of walks to keep me sane, sometimes I even take Daisy with me! Wink Seriously tho she loves being in the pram thankfully, she also loves bathtime. We had a breakthrough last night in that I managed to sing her through the 'cot cry' she's started to have whenever I put her in it, 10 renditions of Twinkle, Twinkle should be enough to shut anyone up! I'm sure it's just the fact that they're suddenly so much more aware and 'active' that the world seems v different to them ... here's hoping - the smiles and giggles are ace aren't they Smile

KathMCB · 06/02/2011 13:37

Well today my LO/MOnster child(!) spent an hour happily playing in his jungle gym and was very relaxed and happy....he just seems to have an aversion to sleeping during the day and it still takes us an hour and a half to get him to go to sleep at night...although he does then sleep really well only waking briefing for feeds...

Anyone else found the weight loss has tapered off/gone in the opposite direction?

KathMCB · 07/02/2011 20:13

OMG he has gone to bed with not a grumble.......Hmm
