Jacks Congratulations! She's gorgeous! WOW! Hope you're recovering well and all is going great!

Jazzie oopsie sorry about the nasty TENS experience, hope you're ok....

A German friend came over today and we've made about 10 tonnes of spaetzle (a kind of pastaish noodle thing) so I am feeling very virtuous, but of course we ate rather a lot...with rather a lot of cheese Grin

babybunting2010 · 25/09/2010 19:32

jacks oh my god that's amazing! I'm so pleased for you! She's a stunner! Can't wait to meet my little girl now! Feel like it's taking forever! :( jazzie thanks for making my day love, i know it sounds cruel to laugh at someone elses pain but really did make me chuckle! :) hope everyone else is doing well! Any tips on getting baby to come out other than sex, pineapple and raspberry leaf tea? I'm so fed up i just want her now! 38 weeks tomorrow! X

sophieandbelly · 26/09/2010 07:24

congratulations jacks, does ur lo have a name yet?? how r u feeling?

babybunting iam 38 weeks 2day to- last time (when i was having baby natural) i was told a long walk, how ever slow that may be! spicy food and sex, all three on same evening if u can, my waters broke 3 oclock following morning.

the pineapple thing u need to eat something like 7 whole pineapples in 1 go to have even the tiny bit of effect (so ive been told!!)

i am avoiding all these things at the moment, dont want to go into labour b4 my section weds! Smile

cheekymonkeyno3 · 26/09/2010 10:10

congratulations jacks what a beautiful little girl you have there. :0

i can tell i'm going to be the one getting jealous of all your lovely little bundles. only 35 weeks yesterday so still doesn't even feel close yet.

luckily i think this baby may have turned over now. heartburn has eased off and its not feeling so uncomfortable by my ribs. fingers crossed. i'm no expert tho so i'll find out on thursday i guess.

babybunting2010 · 26/09/2010 11:07

Thanks sophie! Can't actually convince dh on the sex thing! He's a bit grossed out by it and to be fair i feel about as sexy as a beached whale on a bloated day. So not surprised he's not totally loving the idea of having sex! Sorry tmi. X

sophieandbelly · 26/09/2010 15:25

hahahah my dp the oposite, as iam having section on weds keeps trying to convince me to have sex, in case he doesnt get any for ages (iam quessing) but no way dont want to risk going into labour!!

YummyMummy1208 · 26/09/2010 18:50

Aww congratulations Jacks had a look at your pics and shes lovely. Cant believe weve actually started popping now! Its all very exciting! 4 weeks tomorrow for me although im sure shes going to come a few days early like DS1, shes so wriggly its as though she cant wait to get out!

Im sat warming up a pack of trebor soft mints inbetween my boobs and my belly to satisfy yet another craving for them - 3rd pack today and probably about the 25th pack so far this week! Blush its beginning to become an expensive habit!

Had a nice day today, me and OH split the day between us amusing DS - i did 7 till 12 and he did 12 till 5 then we had family time so all went well tday altho ive started to panic about the monday playgroup drop off now...:(

Hope everyones had a good weekend. Grin

JazzieJeff · 26/09/2010 19:48

Hiya sophie!!! I'm good thanks, are you?

Tried your suggestions today ;) finished up a minute ago with a lamb madras and now my mouth is actually on fire. We'll see how we get on then!

Thanks for all the sympathy over the TENS incident girls :) still, on the bright side at least I know it works. Those things work off 9v batteries though so they're pretty powerful; think how much it hurts if you lick one and then imagine that on your back. It's good though, hope it works.

babyb just ambush your DH!

Jenko77 · 27/09/2010 07:48

Morning ladies,

Wow, a few busy last days at work and look how much has been happening. Took me ages to catch up on it all.

Congratulations Jacks!! So exciting.
Good luck at nursery today Yummy, and sorry Jazzie but that TENS thing was funny. Grin

Today is my first day of mat leave so cooking up food for the freezer and chilling out. I think I'll start on the raspberry leave tea today too. I'll try and keep on top of things on here though - there will be lots happening over the next few weeks.

YummyMummy1208 · 27/09/2010 09:29

Morning Jenko, drop off ended in tears (for the both of us!) again today so am thinking he wont be going back after baby is born - stress is too much to handle! Lucky you on maternity leave, 3 more days for me and ill be joining u!
Thinking about it, i should make some meals to freeze shouldnt i? you sound very organised jenko, making me feel laze! Blush

Well, 36 weeks today, 4 to go!

Im already starting to get excited about christmas, is that bad? Hmm I saved with park all year for vouchers and cant wait for them to arrive so i can start present buying! - lets face it, ill have lots of time on my hands now ill be on maternity leave all over xmas!

KFW · 27/09/2010 10:01

happy monday everyone!

wow. jacks - well done you. she is lovely. how are you feeling? not too sore i hope. what does DS make of it all?!

i cant believe we've started producing the babies. it still feels quite a long way away for me because i am working until next wednesday, but i am sure it will come round quickly.

we finished the nursery yesterday and it looks lovely, so i am now ready and waitingGrin

have a good week all.

RooBear · 27/09/2010 11:34

morning all! wow feel like I've missed loads, congratulations jacks hope your enjoying a bit of rest as I type.

welcome momo

I feel the same kfw still at work and it could be 5 weeks away yet Sad I did put the hospital bags in the car though to try and tempt fate this morning!

Jacksmybaby · 27/09/2010 11:38

Hey all, well DH has gone to take DS to pre-school and DD (!!!! That sounds weird!!!) is sleeping so have a few mins to catch up.

Hermya I am with Hevster re the merging threads thing - also no offence!

Yummy sorry the nursery drop off is still going badly - maybe worth giving it a bit longer to see if he settles in? (my tip, FWIW, on leaving is to do it quickly rather than lingering as it makes it worse for both of you).

All well here. DD is lovely. A few more details on the birth - basically I woke up having contractions early on Tuesday, went into hosp, was 2-3cm dilated and contractions getting worse very quickly, and she was still breech so they whipped me straight into theatre for a CS! All a bit surreal really - only about 3hrs between waking up and her being born!!

Apart from low blood sugar and low temp, which sorted themselves out within the first day, she was (and is) absolutely fine. Smile And I'm fine too although a bit sore!!

KFW DS is lovely with her, although he is being quite difficult with me and DH (better that way round though). He is very protective which is quite cute. In the hosp he shouted at a MW who was taking blood from DD for a blood sugar test "stop that, you're hurting my baby!!".

Anyway can't wait for the next person to "pop" - I need someone to join me over here on "the other side" Grin.

KFW · 27/09/2010 12:24

Hermya I am with jacks and hevster on not merging threads. i am basically antisocial Grin - and i am also a bit slow to keep up with the pace on the other one Blush

thank you for asking though. you are obviously very considerate!

DillyDora · 27/09/2010 13:58

Hi all, well, I don't know if you read the other thread too but it's all go there - 3 babies over the weekend!

I saw mw this morning, all well, Toby has his head down, he's doing fine and we're all on schedule for a nice mellow water birth at the birth centre. I hope it does go that way but I try not to get my hopes up too much as I know how these things can go crazy at the last minute! So..should probably write that birth plan and pack my hospital bag.... 36+4 today.

Glad you and DD are in good shape JAcks

Jazzie why would you be licking batteries, exactly?! My TENS machine arrived today but I promise to be careful with it (and DH!) Wink

TizzyNo1 · 27/09/2010 14:08

Congratulations Jacks! Haven't been on for ages, what a grand surprise!

Am 38 weeks tomorrow - feel like my pelvis is stretching and bit achy around the foof fregion - is this a sign of bubs getting engaged, does anyone know?!

x

Hermya321 · 27/09/2010 15:10

KFW, Jacks No offence taken, I thought that might be the case. But I thought I would double check. I hope you're all well over on this side of things. Grin

balletmoo · 27/09/2010 16:25

Hello all!

Well, I was a part of this thread in "Pregnancy" but I ended up giving birth to William on 1 Sept instead of 13 Oct!!

Ah well... nothing else went to plan with my pregnancy so no reason the birth should have!!

Grin

Well my little preemie boy is home now... next challenge: taking him out alone... which appears to involve weeks of planning, and negotiating stairs with a buggy / c-section scar combo... argh!!!

xx

RooBear · 27/09/2010 16:32

wow balletmoo! thats great congratulations!-sorry jacks looks like you missed out on being the first! (we also haven't heard from anything in a while, hope shes ok)

Had the mw today, baby in the right position and its showing 2cm above the line! which freaks me out a bit as it is 38cm and I'm only 36wks. But the mw says its strong and healthy so thats the main thing. Had really bad backache today, but its not really worth getting a new chair at work for the last 2 wks is it?

DillyDora · 27/09/2010 16:36

Wow balletmoo that must have taken you by surprise! Glad William is home now and good luck with going out ;0) Hope you're doing ok.

Jacksmybaby · 27/09/2010 17:48

Congrats balletmoo! Do you have a sling/baby carrier? I used that a lot with DS when first taking him out.

Hevster · 27/09/2010 19:32

wow thats quite a bit of catching up today! Jazzie ouch!
Jacks hope you are continuing to mend, I am getting nervous now, this time next week will be my last night of being pregnant!

Spent most of today packaging up Phil & Teds buggy which I sold on ebay last night, DD was assisting me so in reality it has taken nearly all day to achieve this 1 thing!

balletmoo congrats, hope you are doing ok

Roobear if you can get a new chair before you go on mat leave then you work in a more efficient bit of the civil service than me!

JazzieJeff · 28/09/2010 07:28

Congratulations balletmoo!

dilly can't believe you've never licked a 9v battery; you've not lived girl! It comes from being in the forces working around lots of men who turn into little boys when they're away from home without their DW's watching over them and generally supervising them and making sure they don't do stupid things like see who can lick the highest voltage battery...

Felt so rubbish yesterday like I was coming down with gastro or something. Constantly felt achey and crampey like a mixture between trapped wind and period pain all day. Didn't sleep a wink on Sunday night either because of it (I'd also eaten a lamb madras and some pineapple, so I was kind of... Windy Blush ) and ended up on the sofa watching tv until the breakfast news came on. Classy lady... So that didn't help affairs much either. Feeling a thousand times better this morning after getting a few hours last night, but I'm not taking chances. I've seen DH off to work this morning and come back to bed for a few hours to read/doze/drink tea and be generally slatternly to make sure I don't have another rubbish day. The trouble with maternity leave is that you never put your feet up and rest, do you? There's always something that 'needs doing' and whilst I'm home all day I feel guilty asking DH to do it, even though I know he wouldn't mind. Silly really, but there we go!

Hope you all have a lovely day xx

YummyMummy1208 · 28/09/2010 09:05

What are you doing up so early Jazzie? Enjoy your last few days/weeks of lie ins before LO arrives i say! - If only i could have just one lie in before baby arrives it would be heaven but 7:30am is a lie in for me these days!

Iv decided to pull DS1 out of playgroup, what with the baby and everything i just dont think he's ready for it so apart from cringing as every hour passes at how much money i am wasting im enjoying a cosy morning on the sofa all wrapped up with him....think we have watched 3 episodes of Thomas, 4 Bob the Builder and 1 Penelope so far! Grin

Hope you have a nice day working or resting!

KFW · 28/09/2010 15:32

hi everyone

just checking in for the day.

i finish work one week tomorrow. just had to share that Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

i really hope she isnt early. i could do with a couple of weeks to blob around.

jazzie - that tens thing made me laugh. it has also made me think that i might not try mine out before d-day. - ignorance is bliss or something.
