chulita when I had a milk blister with dd1 the doctor popped it with a needle so could be worth a try?

my good sleep didn't continue last night. she slept from 7-2 then woke up wriggling and crying..
in our bed from then when after a bit of boob action she slept till dd2 came wandering in at 4 waking her up then wriggled about till covering herself in poo at 5.
Between the kids and the rain what a rubbish sleep..

Off to bed now night all

Chulita · 09/11/2010 06:38

Yea, I might have to grit my teeth and go and see a doctor. I just hate getting my boobs out for strange people to look at. I've tried popping it myself but it didn't work.

4 hours sleep last night, hooray for babies. S will start flagging now just as dd wakes up...

gya we turned the door handle on dd's door upside down so she can't come wandering in at all hours Grin I like to know when she's going to pop up!

girlsyearapart · 09/11/2010 07:56

Morning chulita YAAAWWNN
Couldn't sleep last night even though I was really tired and had been for a run.
Just when I was falling asleep around 1130 dd1 came in and stayed next to me fidgeting and getting up and down to blow her nose. Dh came back from work and eventually settled her around 2. Baby woke 3 for her dummy then for the day at 6 with two dirty nappies in a row then the others at 7 so funnily enough dd1 is in a horrible whiny mood as am I !!
Good idea about the door handle but dd1 locked herself in the bathroom and is now really scared of being shut in anywhere. Normally they don't come up to us until the morning though so I don't mind

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 09/11/2010 08:18

Hello Smile

Seem to have lost a week, but couldn't tell how Confused

Baby swimwear - i linked to a site on the previous page that does the neoprene stuff very cheap, have ordered F a wrap as he is too long and thin for the wetsuits.

We are going on holiday on monday!!!

All but F have colds here too - never caught any colds or anything after having DD, obviously 2 germy kids i too much Grin

DD making a lot of noise downstairs about playdoh, so will be back later...

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 09/11/2010 08:58

So, anyway, i got this swimsuit for me (well, very similar, it was £44) and one of these for F in 6-12months (he is very long in the body) he also has a lycra shortie suit to wear underneath that was passed down to us by my friend.

Also had to buy some LilyPadz as i need breast pads constantly so needed some to swim in, must say i am very impressed so far.

Next lot of jabs tomorrow Sad makes me feel so mean

neenz · 09/11/2010 10:17

Hello everyone, I'm back after a couple of weeks' hol which was fab. Hope you are all keeping well.

We are good here - Daniel has slept 10pm-7.30am a couple of times in the last week! Smile. Otherwise he just wakes once at 3.30am so I am well pleased. He gives me a massive smile every time he sees my face now and has started reaching out for things. He is a real fatty too - I bet his well over 14lb (13wo). He was 13lb 10oz before we went away.

Trying to toilet train the twins this week - mixed results so far! Wish me luck.

Any major news while I've been away?

neenz · 09/11/2010 10:18

We took Daniel swimming while we were on holiday - he did get a bit cold in just a swim nappy. We had a swim seat which was excellent www.amazon.co.uk/BestWay-Inflatable-Baby-Swim-Seat/dp/B002JWBTUC

bellygazing · 09/11/2010 11:04

gya 7pm til 2am doesn't sound too bad to me, Elodie has only slept that long in a row once! The rest of your night sounds less fun tho...

Here in Bellygazing Towers we seem to have reverted from sleep at 8pm to 9pm (knew it was too good to last) back to cluster feeding until 11ish. Including a couple of extra wakings because she has a cold and the not-breathing properly/sneezing wakes her up and she has to have boob action to get back to sleep.

That said, she happily sleeps for ages in the morning (until about 10 if I leave her), has been napping well in the day and is generally just doing one night feed. Last night would have been better, with E down at 10.15, but she woke 45 minutes later all bunged up and it took me an hour to get her back to sleep what with sneezes, burps, a quick sick and lots of snot.

She is just a gorgeous little bunny tho, watching her now sitting in her chair rocking herself, kicking the bar of teddybears, sucking her hands and smiling at me. Smile

neenz · 09/11/2010 14:15

belly, have you tried a couple of drops of olbas oil in the cot if she ias snuffkly

cazzybabs · 09/11/2010 14:18

ahhh - someone has stolen my nice nighttime sleepy baby and replaced her with someone who wakes up every 2-3 hours and won't go back in her cot!

Also dh doesn't seem to be speaking to me - I have no idea why! He came back last night, out dd 2 and 3 to bed and then said I am going back to work.

girlsyearapart · 09/11/2010 18:47

belly that sleep would ve been ok if I could ve slept too but I just couldn't then as soon as I could dd1 was in my bed..
Been for an earlier run and planning on a hot shower and early night.
taking the kids to visit a friend for a few nights tomorrow

thedogwalker · 09/11/2010 19:12

Neenz that inflatable looks great.

Cazzy That doesn't sound too good about your DH, and they say we are a mystery Confused.

Had a really funny thought earlier today. I was going through all my pregnancy paperwork and loads of magazines that I had bought, when I glimpsed pictures of baby scans etc and I just suddenly thought, aw can't wait to be pregnant again. I then went woa, what was that all about????

me and DH have discussed trying for another maybe june / july next year, don't think I'm quite ready just yet, but I was just amazed at my initial reaction.

Hope everyone has had a good day and I hope those with sleeping problems have a good night sleep.

Chulita · 09/11/2010 19:24

cazzy Confused can you text him and ask what's up? I can't stand that sort of thing!

belly karvol is lovely too, I use it on a muslin tied to the top of the cot when my dc's have a cold cos I love the -smell--

gya you're making me feel guilty for sitting here enjoying a glass of wine rather than go running Grin do you go running in the dark?

dogwalker LOL! strange how broodiness grabs you eh?! I'm angling for June-ish next year but I have to convince DH. If I can be fit by then he might be alright with it, really need to shift the poundage and get my mojo back or he'll never agree to it!

neenz nice to have you back! know anything about milk blisters?

thedogwalker · 09/11/2010 19:38

Neenz I've just ordered one of those inflatables, now can't wait to get it and take my little boy swimming Grin

soontobefatnat · 09/11/2010 23:52

Hey broody ladies! Heh. DH and I have already discussed when to try, but probably won't be for a year or two. Big reason being that I want to go back to uni - after this whole experience, I think I'd really like to be a midwife. I've been thinking about it loads - and initially thought it was just the post birth haze, but feel it more than ever now. Quite a serious thing to take on though, so needs lots of planning, but seeing as my public sector job looks for the chop (and my heart wasn't in it anyway) why the hell not?

In other news, I'm still so jealous of your sleepy babies. 3.5 hrs in a row is the record here, and getting him to nap during the day takes all my patience/energy for little reward! Ah well. Maybe at three months we'll turn a corner?!

girlsyearapart · 10/11/2010 05:09

Yes I do go running in the dark but I take the dog who is a staffie and although majorly soppy would( hopefully) put people off attacking me! Also only stick to the path..
I'm all for the broodiness I want one of you to ttc now so I can have you on same ante natal board !
Having said that I'll prob only be pg next June anyway at this rate we ve only done the t in ttc twice since decision was made.
Good luck with Dh cazzy

thedogwalker · 10/11/2010 15:07

My DS is now quite good at sleeping at night. He is washed and changed by DH at 7pm. DS then BF until he falls asleep, normally in his moses basket by 8pm latest. DH gives him bottle of breast milk at 10 pm, my DS then wakes between 4 and 5 am for a feed, back to bed and then up between 7.30 and 8 am Grin, (watch the tweenies at 8.30 am)

However, I have no daytime routine, he eats and sleeps as he sees fit and I've not seen any pattern to his day. But I'm not grumbling, he's just short of 12 weeks old and I think he's doing pretty good so far, now that the colic is dying down.

Before I had a routine with him, I wrote down the timings for feeds, sleep etc and saw there was a pattern already to his night time, so I just expanded it a bit, which he was happy with as it worked with his own timings. Its great now because my DH and I can have 2 hours together on an evening, which is our special time Wink when I can get him off the playstation!!!!

Hope everyone is having a good day, take care x

neenz · 10/11/2010 19:05

GYA - are you ttc No.4 already? ShockGrin

I sometimes feel bad for having Daniel only 2yrs after the twins - it seems all too much at once sometimes. The twins maybe deserved a bit longer of my sole attention esp as they have had to share it all their lives anyway! But no regrets cos Daniel is just lovely of course and I'm sure they will all be great friends as they grow up.

Sorry don't know anything about milk blisters - my friend had one and it troubled her for ages although she did continue to BF Smile

D slept 10pm-7.30am again last night Smile.

Toilet training the twins has been a disaster Sad, it's quite depressing really cos I thought at least one might get it (they are 2.5) but it doesn't seem to be happening.

JamieJay · 10/11/2010 19:38

Can I join in belatedly please?

I was on the ante-natal thread but never made the switch across to post natal. DD was born on 12th August so is 12 weeks old now and won't stop growing!

Off to catch up with thread.......

ElusiveMoose · 10/11/2010 21:36

Neenz, what's the problem with the potty training (as someone who's just been through it, it's all very fresh in my mind!)? Is it that they don't know when they need to go, or they don't care about making a mess, or they're upset by the concept? How long have you been trying? FWIW, one of my close friends with twin girls decided to train one at a time, because she just couldn't cope with doing both at once. She thought that might bother them, but it didn't seem to.

Welcome back, JamieJay Smile.

Well, after a couple of weeks of only waking up once between 7pm and 7am (usu around 3am), Seth decided to wake up at 12 and 3 last night. I'm hoping it's just a one-off, though, cos I'm knackered and could really do with a good night's sleep! He's so cute at the moment, though - he's started proper 'chatting' now, not just his cute little coos, but sort of 'aaahh' shouting, like he's really trying to communicate. And he seems to think that mummy dancing is the funniest thing in the world (he's got a point Grin).

ValiummyMummy · 10/11/2010 23:03

Sorry to crash your thread, but I was looking for feedback on NCT classes if you have a minute. Many thanks

JamieJay · 10/11/2010 23:39

Thanks for the welcome Elusive.

DD is really finding her voice too - she's been working on her pitch for the last two days and can go very high when she wants to. Makes watching television rather difficult....

weehector · 11/11/2010 01:10

I'm absolutely loving the squealing, 'agoos', 'aboos', 'eeks' and accompanying expressions. I had A in my arms in the kitchen earlier and as I was standing in an area where I don't normally stand (in front of 3 small framed pics) & talking to DH, A let out an 'eek, oooh', looked at me smiling and nodded & fixated very definitely on the prints then me, jabbering away - i just about peed my pants to see such an obvious attempt at communication, especially as it came on the same day he rolled over from his back onto his tummy on the playgym for the first time. Wee soul was delighted with himself (he's been trying a million different manoeuvres to get over his arm when he makes it onto his side for weeks now) but burst out crying when he realised that was him stuck.

Thanks for swimwear advice guys, btw. Have plumped for neoprene & am currently stalking eBay for a Floaties swim seat.

chulita you got your Kitchenaid yet, girl? We got one about a month ago (I've listed after one for years but the great British bake off programme pushed me over the edge) but I broke it out for the first time today..Amazing!! Feel like a complete domestic goddess making fantastic meringues, a pavlova and mayonnaise. The only problem is that I've eaten 3/4 of the Pavlova (complete with about 600ml of whipped double cream & a mountain of raspberries & blueberries) in one go tonight. Blush It was so beautiful to look at that I kept going back into the kitchen to admire it & well, one thing led to another..
I think owning & using one is up there with childbirth in making me feel like a proper woman rather than an overgrown student!

Right on the premise of sleep when the baby sleeps, I'm off as we're still stuck with 1.30 & 4.30 feeds (please let tonight be the night he drops the 1.30 feed again now his cold has cleared). 2nd load of injections, 1st yr group & baby yoga tomorrow so important we're not in cranky form.

weehector · 11/11/2010 01:19

Listed should be lusted obviously (damn iPhone). But while we're on the topic, there's still not any lustiness going on in the boudoir at Maison Hector. Harrumph. Which is a problem, frankly, when the cute little 6 wk old newborns at baby massage today made me feel quite broody..time to get the Exceedingly Tiny Knickers out & a bottle of Taittinger (half price at Morrisons!) in, I feel..

soontobefatnat · 11/11/2010 03:11

Ooh, Hector - exciting about your Kitchenaid. What colour did you go for?

Sigh. I miss the days when other MNers were up in the night feeding too! E has been at it solidly for 30 mins now. Zzzz...
