Love to all xxx

Woooooo...Woooooo. [hsmile] (that's me being seasonally scary)

Just dropping in for a flying visit onmybroomstick as I'm on holiday. 11oz in 3hrs?! Oh my giddy aunt.

Chulita · 27/10/2010 08:18

pample fwiw S is back to his usual self so not much sleep in this house what with DD having a cold too...I'd pay a considerable amount of money for a week of good nights!

Helloooooo weehector

11oz in 3 hrs is immense, whenever I feed Sam from a bottle he doesn't put away more than 4oz and that'll do him for a few hours.

ElusiveMoose · 27/10/2010 09:22

Blueberries where are you ?

thedogwalker · 27/10/2010 09:26

Good morning

I had a feeling my DS ate alot, as he cluster feeds all evening and all I do is swap him from one boob to the other, but I also think that my DH didn't know what to do when DS cried so probably gave him lots of milk to keep him happy. But still I was surprised at the 11 oz.

Does anyone else have problems expressing lots of milk? I can only express 5 oz once a day and that is when my boob is so full it is really hard. If i try and express more than once a day I only manage 2 to 3 oz. I'm dreading when my DS wants more than 5 oz before he goes to bed as I don't know where I'm going to produce it from [hhmm]. A neighbour of mine can get 9 oz from one boob, I'm amazed.

My DS has taken to not going back sleep after his early morning feed. He's woken just after 4 am the last 3 mornings as usual, it takes me an hour to feed him and normally he goes back to sleep for 2 hours. Not these past 3 days, he screams when i put him down, so I've now been up since 4 am and I'm knackered. I will perservere (sp???). I'm sure Formula feeding wouldn't be as difficult?????

Hope everyone has a great day, weehector hope you enjoy your holiday [hsmile]

soontobefatnat · 27/10/2010 12:41

Hey DogWalker have you tried expressing at different times of the day/night. If I can be arsed to, I can get loads if I express after a night feed (2am is supposedly when your milk supply peaks). Or maybe first thing in the morning?

Chulita · 27/10/2010 13:24

I can't get much from either boob, combined expressage without prior feeding gets me max 6oz, sometimes 7 and that's in the evening, don't get time to express any other time. When DD was bfing I used to get 9oz from one side but I reckon when S ups his intake I'll make more, he just barely feeds at the mo.

Just had some lazy git delivery driver fail to deliver a parcel for the 2nd day running...am well pissed off too cos he sat outside the house for 5 mins but didn't bother ringing the bell, grr...

soontobefatnat · 27/10/2010 15:49

Was it the Home Delivery Network, Chulita? Angry It drives me crazy when they don't even ring the bell!

Chulita · 27/10/2010 15:54

No, this was SDS or somesuch. The home delivery lady is lovely and always chatters away for 5 mins :)

I've just had to cancel Sam's jabs and I'm really frustrated. He's not going to end up having them til 16 week-ish and those'll be his first lot, argh!

bellygazing · 27/10/2010 17:55

Have had the most horrendous afternoon. Got home from shopping and Elodie was still in the pram while I was putting stuff away. The kitchen/dining room door shut while I was putting toiletries in the bathroom - and wouldn't open. It's not a door with a lock, but somehow the mechanism had got stuck. The back door was locked, the windows were all locked and my keys, mobile and baby were all on the other side of the door.

I ended up crying on my next-door neighbours shoulder (who I don't know) who got her sister's husband (I think) to remove the lock and then discovered the actual shutting mechanism had broken as the door shut and the only way to get in was to jimmy the frame.

The whole way through, Elodie was screaming blue murder and there was literally nothing I could do.

Got in safe in the end and she was placated by a good long feed and has given me lots of smiles since so I think she has forgiven me... but it was horrible...

Chulita · 27/10/2010 18:42

Ack bellygazing that's so horrible! I'm glad you got in. E will be fine, she's not at an age to remember anything but I know the feeling!
When we first moved into our last house I locked DH and me in the bathroom (while testing the lock) with DD, phones and shoes on the other side Blush we had to climb out the window and shimmy down the guttering hoping that DD wouldn't go anywhere she shouldn't. My friend locked herself out of her house with her DD in the highchair, not strapped in, and had to flag down a police car in tears to break in for her. Her DD was screaming the place down and eventually fell asleep in her food cos it took so long to get in. It happens to a lot of us and there's not much you can do about it!

bouncingblueberries · 27/10/2010 19:27

here I am! hiding under a mound of snotty tissues, but I'm here!!!!

night feeds are still either when mumsnet is down Angry or....[whispers] non-existent...

can't believe my luck over the past fortnight G has slept from 9:30pm until 6am 3 nights out of five Grin.

can't take any credit for it as I've done nothing different - just pure good luck I think.

right, off to catch up on all your news - I've missed you all!

Chulita · 27/10/2010 19:44

blueberries you can get right back under that mound of tissues Envy

bouncingblueberries · 27/10/2010 20:18

bellygazing you poor thing! what a horrid afternoon. hope you have a nicer evening.

interesting to hear all your talk about expressing. have a night out in a couple of weeks and really need to start expressing to build up a store for dh. trouble is, I'm still not convinced we're 100% clear of thrush. every 10 - 14 days, like clockwork I have a day like today where my nipples aches and burn after every feed and I can see G has a white tongue. too scared to stop using the cream on my nipples for fear it goes into the breast tissue/milk ducts. But, if I freeze milk and still have thrush I could end up reinfecting both of us when the milk is used as freezing doesn't kill off thrush Confused

have a lovely holiday weehector

in other news, I treated myself to a pair of rocket dog boots from ebay and they arrived today Grin just wish my calves were just a wee bit less chunky Blush still struggling with excessive chocolate consumption baby weight

sorry chulita Blush had a rubbish sleeper last time, so strongly believe it's luck of the draw! Also, don't believe it will last - I'll be back to feeding 3 times a night as soon as he hits the next growth spurt I bet.

bouncingblueberries · 27/10/2010 20:30

oh, and we're dealing with raging nappy rash and Shock teething! Bright red cheeks, drooling, biting his hands the works, So it's not all shiny in the blueberry household, honest!

...oh, and what is this sex thing you all speak of? never heard of it Grin

Chulita · 27/10/2010 20:58

Still doesn't excuse you, DD has always been a crap sleeper and we've got the teething thing too, DD's being a nightmare at the mo - she can't even sit down properly her rash is so bad - but it's not her fault poor little mite. Alright, enough of the 'my life is more crap than yours' lark Grin In all honesty I'm very pleased to hear that your lo is sleeping well, shows it can be done :) I've got RD boots, love 'em but am angling for DH to get me a black pair this year, even though he has just agreed to me getting a Kitchenaid mixer Blush spendersRus!

SpookilyDoodleydoohoohoooooo · 27/10/2010 20:59

BBB and Elusive - are you all kent based?

Chulita · 27/10/2010 21:01

Oh, and any tips for the teething? We're waiting on those last 4 teeth but I daren't put my finger in her mouth to see if they're there Shock
Wrt to the thrush, have you tried Fluconazole? you probably have, I can't remember that far back. I've got a milk blister (I think) and it's fricking painful...with DD I was pain-free feeding at 8 weeks, here we're still toe-curling at nearly 14 - enough to drive one to the bottle!

hildainstant · 27/10/2010 21:03

No one ever told me about the horrendous amazing things that happen to your body after childbirth!! I had a c-section and after my first wedding anniversary being dressed by my hubby while I was in floods of tears after having an 'accident' and in so much pain days after giving birth (oh the romance!) we managed to do the deed after about 6 weeks and I surprisingly enjoyed it....even though I was scared it would hurt! I think the difference is that I'm ff my LO as my milk didn't arrive so no issues down below.

I'm a little worried about my boy as he seems to have reflux. He seems in so much pain sometimes and theres not much I can do to help him Sad. I'm confused though as he only suffers during the day (he doesn't sleep well unless I cradle him) but at night he sleeps really well - put him down at 10.30ish waking at 4-5 for a feed then awake between 8-9. Why does it only happen during the day?? Confused

LizzieA · 27/10/2010 21:08

I'm sooo scared, I've posted this on another thread, but here feels like home!

My sister is 25+1 and her waters have broken. She's at our local hospital but I've no idea what happens to her next. Her DP is with her.... they're supposed to be getting married on Saturday! Anyone know?

Feels awful to update but Ben is 9 weeks on Friday and doing brilliantly, I read every day on the iphone but never quite make it to the laptop and as a first time mum I can't really offer advice to the queries! x

cazzybabs · 27/10/2010 22:56

Lizzie - thinking of your sister. hopefully she won't go in to labour yet.

LCRLCR · 28/10/2010 07:01

Hi everyone! Lizzie eek your sister, really really hope everything is ok, do let us know!

I have a nappy question - DD is 9 weeks old on Friday and while she feeds 3 times during the night, she finds a nappy change too disturbing so I let her be. Problem is that some mornings she is soaked, even her vest is wet so should I just bite the bullet and change her during the night anyway, risking her wrath? What do you do?

soontobefatnat · 28/10/2010 08:59

Hi LCR - my friends' baby finds nappy changes really disturbing too, especially at night. What they do is that while the baby is feeding, the DP changes the nappy (they use those Mothercare sleep gowns with no poppers etc and Pampers mats on the bed in case of spills). Apparently she doesn't take a blind bit of notice because she's on the boob. Sounds pretty involved to me though! Is she getting a bad rash or anything?

pamplem0usse · 28/10/2010 09:18

Not much time to post but juat wanted to say will be thinking of you lizzie and your sister xx

Chulita · 28/10/2010 09:32

hilda S has/had really bad reflux and it was only in the day. He'd scream in pain all day long but at night once he'd settled he'd wake up a couple of times. I'm bfing and cut out all dairy and he's a completely different boy. Going from him screaming all the time, and I mean rigid-body, vein-popping screaming for hours at a time to him chuckling/smiling and actually enjoying life. I still can't believe the change. I daren't go back on dairy much as I miss it!

lcrlcr I don't change S and he's often soaked in the morning, it's just hard to settle him if I change him.

lizzieA hopefully everything will be fine with your sister, must be so scary for them. I'll be thinking of them.

cazzybabs · 28/10/2010 09:33

any news today?
