Morning Matchsticks please ..

dd2 refused nap again yesterday and was a horror all afternoon .. passed out at 6 again but did sleep til 6.10am..

had niece and nephew over for sleep over.. 9mth nephew slept like a dream.. niece on the other hand, winged and complained of tummy ache, awake at 11.30.. called sil to ask what she did for tummy ache {she was only in the pub around the corner], suggested warm milk, they were on their last drink, niece refused complained more, took her back to bed, she got up again and waited til her mum came home an hour and 15mins later !!! .. niece is 7 btw...

now if it was me who was out and was told one of my dds wasn't 100% i'd drink up quick and get home!!!..

h was randomly texting me til 2am {really missing me and the girls }.. so i am shattered and that stupid pain that i got when i had my kidney infection has come back ...

anyway, dizzy hope yesterday went amazing

spring glad it was your last ever exam and hope you did well, hope ds isn't sickening..

why ts?

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 07:39

congrats on finishing your last exam spring

loti is this one of the sil's that was a bitch on your holiday? if it is, no way i'd have been babysitting for her!

DH woke me at 5.40 (from him fidgeting in bed), i eventually gave up and got up at 6.30 only to find DS sitting up in bed waiting for daddy. I wasn't good enough so he had a scream. i have to keep reminding myself that he's being a pain in the wotsit at the moment because he's not feeling well but last night was hard. At 10 i told DH i wasn't doing anymore and that he had to take over. This was just after we'd discovered he'd stripped the wallpaper off round his window. I'm so tired and my tether is thin (or whatever the expression is!)
I've put the kettle on but i haven't got the energy to go and make a cup of tea even. Hmm, just remembered i bought a twix yesterday. i reckon a dose of sugar would help!

oh and good morning all. sorry for being full of woes. just tired, so ignore me!

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 07:40

loti* as for your h, i'd have switched my phone if i were you!

GladioliBuckets · 18/07/2010 08:06

Oh my gosh what a night you guys have all had!

Loti Yeah but 7yr olds can suffer a lot with hypochondria, not worth cutting short an evening for (esp if no accompanying poo-based symptoms). My dd is always complaining about tummy ache when she's anxious. Current treatments are Rescue Remedy and let her read herself to sleep. Have also tried sweet rooibos, peppermint and chamomile teas to show that only horrid adult remedies were available (and on the offchance that she did like one.)

Got the morning to clean my downstairs (house) while DH and the big two go swimming with BIL. DO NOT let me back on here til the afternoon.

luckoftheirish · 18/07/2010 08:09

thanks for that buckets, will remember that for the future .. no ideas about 7yr old yet thanfully!! do agree that she was anxious tho, she got lots of cuddles and chat from auntie tho ..

mrsm, get that twix and get back to bed!! you sound exhausted hugs

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 08:47

twix duly administrated and cup of tea drunk and feeling alot more with it now!

currently trying to save my relationship with mil.... she bought me a cutting mat for my b'day and i let DS use it to lean on when he was drawing with his crayons. i've now got crayon marks all over the mat. Personally, the mat still works as it should, no chance of crayon getting onto fabric but mil will really not be happy! any ideas how i can get the crayon off? elbow grease, washing up liquid, hot water and scouring pads aren't working....

actually, i'm off to ask the housekeeping girls on here!

ps buckets stop lurking!

alittlebitshy · 18/07/2010 10:07

glad the medicinal twix worked miamla. When you were talking about lac of energy i was remembering how yukky those last few weeks of pg were, esp with dc2. then i remembered a certain mnetter who is no longer on here who bitched to you about how pathetic i was for not being up for meeting you guys when i needed to get chores done, deal with dd and needed a nap (remember i was still being sick all through my pg too). sorry - just feeling bitter. So thus am uber sympathetic to your tiredness. btw this week i am totally dd-less (until thursday) so if you were up for meeting up, h and i are at your beck and call.

no1 i am very happy to hear how positive you are sounding. you go girl with your dates

readyforanything · 18/07/2010 10:10

M, try wd40. Sound a bit ott from mil if you ask me.
Loti, agree with buckets re 7yo's. She would have been really aware her mum wasn't there. Hope you are doing ok.

No1, great to hear you are doing so well. You sound really happy.

TS, sorry about sil, you just can't help some people. I have a v distant relationship with my db mainly due to sil (although he is obviously part of it,and prob me too). Sorry about the rubbish nights all round.

Dizzy, really pleased things went well yesterday. We seem to gave hour windy weather today.
Back to mostly lurking for me. Hope it doesn't seem too voyeuristic, just don't hAve mytime/energy to post mostly.

Ps changing name again soon. Don't like this one...

cyteen · 18/07/2010 10:25

Who was that then albs?

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 11:09

sorry albs, already booked up til thursday eve this week
week after?
as for she who shall not be named (unless you want to!), i'd forgotten all that, was horrible at the time. she was such a bitch! thank you for your sympathy!

ready thanks for the wd40 tip! worked a charm!! crayon all gone but mat now greasey despite lots of washing/scrubbing! hey ho!

springaporesling · 18/07/2010 12:58

No1 forgot to say am so pleased that you are feeling so good about yourself and thing seem to be going well for you.

Cyteen are you feeling any better? Sorry I misjudged the other night. In our relationship DH is probably the one who instigates things more but we go through stages when one of us needs more attention than the other IYSWIM so it seems to even things out on the whole. On that point Red your relationship sounds incredibly healthy.

Miamla has DH stopped sulking yet?

Loti please take care of yourself. Kidney infections have a nasty habit of coming back again and again.

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 13:04

spring, yup, finally!!

TwilightSurfer · 18/07/2010 13:18

Shocked at how quiet it was on here.[smiled]

Lucky can second Buckets on the tummy deal. My 6 year old gets nervous stomach a lot. Nothing to worry about. Cuddles & water typically cure hers.

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 18/07/2010 14:01

mrsm and albs who are you talking about?

loti you are too nice. You need to turn your phone off/to silent, send girls to h and refuse to baby sit. I then prescribe a long soak in the tub followed by an early night and a lie-in the next day. Oh, and lots of water to flush out the kidneys

lwfh when are you over here? Can we convene a meet up for then?

Hair drama - bald patch is bigger, now about 1.5 inch square, and also a 1cm patch on top of my head, just to the side of my parting so again, you can't see it. Feeling stressed but not too bad, am thinking about cutting back on the wine to see what difference that makes
On the plus side, got a small friendly game of hockey in an hour

GladioliBuckets · 18/07/2010 16:09

Miamla Try a babywipe on the mat, sometimes oil beats oil (think make-up wipes.)

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 16:41

buckets you're too late but thank you! (see my post of 11.09!) But actually, I'd already tried baby wipes and they didn't work!

cc sorry to hear about bald patch growing. you could just go with the flow and shave it all off Giving up wine seems a bit of a drastic thing to try though!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 18/07/2010 17:18

Ladies - just incase you were wondering what we were upto this time 2 years ago.......

LOL! Oops I've been reading back too.

TwilightSurfer · 18/07/2010 17:41

Miamla WD40 is a might crazy. You may need some GUNKOFF. Pop by your local autoparts store to find it. There's a half dozen names for it but mechanics use it to rid their hands of motor oils (including WD40). Smells of gasoline.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 18/07/2010 17:42

Before you try that have you tried some witch hazel? Surely you have some of THAT on hand?

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 18/07/2010 17:56

LOL you have all been looking back trying to find out who was mean about albs someone spill and pu us ou of our misery

Just passing through here, house is an absolute tip from our furniture-moving shenanigans. My rubbish measuring meant DH had to cut off wardrobe edges and remove a bit of skirting board to get the wardrobe in its new home luckily he is good at that stuff and managed to squeeze it in [ooer]

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 17:58

witch hazel? nope! Haven't needed any

oh and mat's fine now too!

i'm off to have a reminisce

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 17:59

hots, wasn't on here, was in RL

MrsMiamla · 18/07/2010 18:11

hmm, having read some of that thread, i think we should be doing some preparation for poor DD! Her moses basket is still in the attic! We do have a new mattress for it at least, oh, and a bunny rabbit! We don't need anything else, do we?! I found my 'hospital bag list' the other day (quite randomly in my work email inbox!) and oh my goodness, not planning half of that stuff now! We're still hoping to have her at home but if I do end up in the hospital, I can see us turning up with a nappy and a babygro! Oooh, they won't let babies out of hospital without a car seat now will they, guess we'd better add that to the list of things to be dug out of the attic!

How did you lot with Aug08 babies as their 2nd/3rd babies, keep a straight face when all of us first timers were panicing about daft things?!!

alittlebitshy · 18/07/2010 19:07

god now i feel a bitch for bringing it up.
erm she had a dd, i think born on 0808. does that help? if someone guesses i will confirm it .
twas in rl as miamla said. in fact it was after i had commented on a thread that i was too knackered/snowed under to meet up, then she sent an email to miamla about can you believe she is using needing a nap as an excuse but accidentally sent it to me first. cue hopeless hormonal sobbing this end .
