grr at tories going on about labour losing their mandate to govern

if DC thinks he has some kind of mandate with 36% of vote or whatever then he's a prize arsehole

Northernlurker · 07/05/2010 08:22

Sorry - that's my cats view. What would she know though - she skulked off to bed at 1.30!

WilfSellOut · 07/05/2010 08:22

Of course Tories don't actually need 40 seats. They could form an alliance with the smaller groups also...

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 08:23

No change in Scotland - they would hate to have a Tory government imposed on them again.

Don't Labour get first shot though at doing a deal?

MarionCole · 07/05/2010 08:25

Morning. Slept with R4 on so sort of kept up. How interesting. Do we know how the remaining seats are likely to fall? I have Cbeebies on which isn't very enlightening. My gut feel is that the slow returners are likely to be rural and therefore Tory (vast generalisation alert). We're still Tory, no great shock there. Cameron and Clegg must be severely pissed off.

Bumperliouzzzzzz · 07/05/2010 08:27

Morning, watching annoying Jezzer, looks like even with the Lib Dems Labour wouldn't have an over all majority.

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 08:27

BBC seem to be saying Tories still can't do it even with the Unionists, etc.

Projection is even Labour plus LibDem won't be enough for a majority, they will need some of the minority parties too, eeekkk.

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 08:28

Glenda Jackson held her seat probably but they are doing a recount as it is very close.

yeah with no overall maj incumbent govt is invited to form a new one I think. But I'm still holding breath until last seats are in

LadyBlaBlah · 07/05/2010 08:33

Speechless

RedRedApples · 07/05/2010 08:35

Morning well done you hardy types; you lost me at the Big Tech Blank screen incident around 3ish when I just ran for bed.

everyone keeps saying the same thing on R4 it makes me think of the loo roll ad

stable, strong and very very long

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 08:38

Cameron will be PM of England not the UK if he wins. He cannot expect the Scots to accept him with only 1 MP. And they have swung towards Labour!

Bucharest · 07/05/2010 08:40

I love Scotland!
My constituency (Geoff Hoony's) (now some glamourous woman from Ch 4) is Labour hold with 33.7% against Lib 33.3%. Blimey.
