Anxious Conservatives thread!

As the lefties have one, we need one too.

I have everything crossed for them to win, by however small a margin, and red wine and arsenic ready in case they lose...

I daren't stay up as my nerves can't take it. I just desperately want to wake up to a Conservative government tomorrow morning.

Lefties, please don't intrude. I have deliberately started this thread so as not to pester you on your anxious thread. It feels mean and unnecessary to tell you why you are wrong on your own thread.

Why are the ITV and BBC results differing so widely????

11 tory seats on ITV and only 5 on BBC

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 01:38

OOhhh I'd love to see the back of Ed!

Fruitysunshine · 07/05/2010 01:38

The things with GB is that he always looks half asleep!

AnnaSergeyevna · 07/05/2010 01:39

cos one of his eyes is asleep

wasabipeanut · 07/05/2010 01:40

Blondecat I think people realised their policies were a bit barking. Nick Clegg just crumbled in the last week when he had to start furnishing the big talk with a little detail.

He seemed to come across almost a bit spivvy in the last few days I think.

blondecat · 07/05/2010 01:40

AnnaSegeyevna, that's because my old chums at the Beeb hate hate hate seeing Tory gains. They are delaying their pain!
Maybe I should switch to ITV

blondecat · 07/05/2010 01:41

GB says that it's his "duty" to cling onto power. What?! A Lab coup. I feel this is getting quite sad or possibly scary.

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 01:45

swingometer

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 01:45

Oh no!

AnnaSergeyevna · 07/05/2010 01:45

dammnnn, tooting is a very bad result for us.
Hope this is not a sign of things to come.

wasabipeanut · 07/05/2010 01:46

Bugger. I am getting worried.

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 01:47

Huge turnout though. And LibDem down

AnnaSergeyevna · 07/05/2010 01:48

blondecat - i can't quite understand it because the bbc commentators are much more positive about the tory results than itv.

wasabipeanut · 07/05/2010 01:48

High turnouts don't tend to favour Tory governments if my memory serves me correctly.

blondecat · 07/05/2010 01:48

I know what you mean. This is v bad. Just 3.6% in Tooting. But 6.5% in Battersea. Turnout was up 10% in Tooting. Real Labour mobilisation, BBC say it's the ethnic minorities that protected it for Khan.

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 01:49

Guildford

AnnaSergeyevna · 07/05/2010 01:50

this is such a strange set of results. I've noticed that the commentators are baffled as well

sethstarkaddersmum · 07/05/2010 01:51

I don;t understand why I keep hearing these big swings to Con but on the BBC website it says the overall swing is just 3.8%.

Cartoose · 07/05/2010 01:52

I'm starting to flag

wasabipeanut · 07/05/2010 01:52

It's all how you work out averages isn't it? The results are strange though - no discernable patterns, it's just a mish mash.

blondecat · 07/05/2010 01:53

AnnaS, then maybe ITV are counting the Ulster chaps for Tories? Not sure. Anyway its getting busy.
National 3.3% swing to Tories. Not remotely enough. Bet is on another election within 12-24 months.

wasabipeanut · 07/05/2010 01:53

I know what you mean Cartoose. I am tired and even if I stay up for another 2 hours I'll still be none the wiser.

Alibabaandthe40tories · 07/05/2010 01:57

The swing is bigger than that really, it is the proportionately large number of results declared in NI etc that is giving an odd result at the moment.

It will sort itself out once a larger number of results are in.

sethstarkaddersmum · 07/05/2010 01:58

ah I see Alibaba.

AnnaSergeyevna · 07/05/2010 01:59

me too. I'm waiting for a big tory success and then I'm off to bed.
