yy to face pack! i've got a Simple one i need to use.

the garnier hair dye is ready to go.

might paint my toenails blue .

this can't be happening, a tory victory. it just can't.

oh man. it's like the night obama one. i asked to be released from hospital on election morning because that fecking hospital had NO tellies in the rooms and dammit, i was going to watch that damn election!

ds kept me up all night, anyhow, feeding, but i just had to watch.

had to stay till the end, to see President Obama waving the crowds in victory.

it was a moment in time.

[sniff]

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 19:04

I know loads of Tories. Sadly.

jenny60 · 06/05/2010 19:07

Signing in: it really isn't all bad and it's still exciting. Glad you're all here.

I LOVE voting, always have. Our polling station very busy and full of young people.
have lots of wine and pizza.

Also first time in my life that I paid for the Daily Mirror. Brilliant cover

Heathcliffscathy · 06/05/2010 19:08

I LOVE that there are loads of young people voting. makes me hope.

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 06/05/2010 19:09

I was so happy when Obama won - we were glued to the tv.

Glad to hear the turnout is good - dh said he heard there was a queue this morning at ours - low turnout benefits the Tories - higher turnout benefits lab/lib-dem.

expatinscotland · 06/05/2010 19:11

Turnout is high.

I was sobbing when Obama's victory was declared.

I hope I'm not sobbing again tonight, for other reasons.

Matsikula · 06/05/2010 19:12

Pfftetc, I know a lovely Tory, who is standing as a candidate. I even wished her luck (though she is never going to win).

My favourite consoling daydream at the moment is imagining how George Osborne is feeling right now. I mean, he already knows the public don't like him, that's before he's even made any cuts. His glee must be tempered with a very large dose of fear.

Okay, I am clutching at straws.

SpringHeeledJack · 06/05/2010 19:13

just voted- for the first time ever we had to queue!

RedLadyBiscuit · 06/05/2010 19:14

I might have to raid the oven chips stock

I've got two bottles of wine but I've already opened one. Not a good start

expatinscotland · 06/05/2010 19:14

I've got onion rings!

Hassled · 06/05/2010 19:17

I CAN'T BEAR THE SUSPENSE. I want it to be over - but I can't stand what might await me when I turn the telly on tomorrow morning. I think I might need to find a cave.

DS3 has two interesting theories I need to share. Theory One is that David Cameron is in fact Harold Saxon. We will wake up and find ourselves enslaved to a Time Lord Nutter.

Theory Two is that Dave is Hades, Gordon is Zeus and Nick is Poseidon. Nick would apparently look best with a trident.

KayHarker · 06/05/2010 19:17

oo, onion rings...

Batteryhuman · 06/05/2010 19:17

It was busy at our polling sation earlier and the kids at DS2 6th form college are so excited about it all, maybe the youth vote can keep them out.

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 19:18

at the thought of George Osborne.

You have all swayed me from the path of righteousness - we are now getting a curry (sagwalla) and beer

Matsikula - I was being a little unfair, I know several Tories who are my friends and they are lovely people. They are, however, self concerned. We can still be friends though (how very gracious of me)

smallishsheep · 06/05/2010 19:19

onion rings.
I deliberately made sure I had cash in my purse tonight for an emergency takeaway should the situation call for it

KayHarker · 06/05/2010 19:21

I'm a self-concerned liberal, to that I will admit. My drugs would cost an astronmical amount without the prescription charge.

WilfSellOut · 06/05/2010 19:22

I have to stay up. I can't bear not to know. I shall probably doze somewhat on the sofa, wine-induced.

Had forgotten I have to see students tomorrow

PinkFuschia · 06/05/2010 19:30

Just voted, queues here too, which I've never seen before.

DH came home with a carrier bag full of chocolate and the pinkoliberal rose is chilling in the fridge.

TheFirstLady · 06/05/2010 19:31

Trying to hold off on the wine till I finish the fecking costumes, which are needed for a dress rehearsal tomorrow.
Will stay up on the sofa with pillow and duvet, but as I work with EBD teens I need to be fairly compos mentis tomorrow.

ilovemydogandMrBrown · 06/05/2010 19:35

It was so lovely walking to the Polling Station. Loads of neighbors were out, and everyone stopped for a chat. Such a great community feel. Saw the agent for the Tory candidate and he's nice enough. Shook his hand, smiled and said, 'you don't have a chance in this ward...'

TheFirstLady · 06/05/2010 19:37

ElenorRigby · 06/05/2010 19:38

What does being leftie mean?

animula · 06/05/2010 19:39

For the poster who was asking earlier - papers say the earliest belweather (sp?) seat is Edgbaston at around 12:30 ?

And I think Tooting will be "significant" at around 1???

Though if I have that wrong - feel free someone else to jump in ....

I think if Tooting goes Con it'll be bed and depression for me.

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 06/05/2010 19:40

There's a really good Election guide in today's Guardian, if you need any advice/help about what's significant/what to watch for.

policywonk - who's good to follow on Twitter (apart from you of course!)?

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 06/05/2010 19:43

I've just been to vote. A small queue of young people
