DD enjoyed her trip ro party HQ with DH, have tried to explain that we may not win!

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 06/05/2010 18:54

I have actually been on the edge of my seat all afternoon (and on mumsnet) cos dh was at a job interview.

He's just come back, hung about for a bit and then they've called and are sending him through to second stage for tomorrow (he's now planning the tasks).

but it means he really can't stay up late watching the election (though we always stay up all night).

I am going to have a glass of wine soon - just off out to vote first.

expatinscotland · 06/05/2010 18:54

I'm going to wake up with a knot in my stomach.

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 06/05/2010 18:56

expat

I'm going to give myself a pedicure later to distract myself.

May even put a face pack on.

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 18:56

Signing in again here.

I'm still depressed but vaguely curious about hung parliament opportunities, should it not fall into pieces in the first ten minutes. Not that it's going to happen anyway.

It's a bit like exam results - I secretly hope for good things but outwardly express dismal expectations of failure.

ShowOfHands · 06/05/2010 18:56

David "My Second Husband" Mitchell is the only joyous thing I can imagine happening tonight.

Think I might hoover the ceiling later for something to do.

I can hear my colliery-employed ancestors spinning in their graves.

Heathcliffscathy · 06/05/2010 18:56

ShowOfHands · 06/05/2010 18:57

I've got my first counselling session tomorrow for birth trauma. I think I'll need to deal with the election first.

MarthaFarquhar · 06/05/2010 18:57

just about to have a little preparatory sleep ahead of the night's probable horror. I'd like to make it 3ish. No wine (pg) but I do have a whole caramel shortbread traybake, which I took the trouble to hide from DD.

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 06/05/2010 18:57

David Mitchell is going to be my third husband so hands off SOH

DottyDot · 06/05/2010 18:58

also on the wine - bought a bottle and forgot (honest) that dp's out tonight so I'll just have to drink it all myself hurrah

Heathcliffscathy · 06/05/2010 18:58

our polling station man said he'd never seen it as busy...we're going to get a lab/lib coalition mark my trousers!

smallishsheep · 06/05/2010 18:58

Shall we do a sweepstakes for who's going to have to bow out early through drunkenness fatigue?
My money's on Lenin

You say no news but Martha Kearney just tweeted that senior tory said they currently have a small majority. Not sure according to what though?

I have two bottles of red wine and chips n dips!

Heathcliffscathy · 06/05/2010 19:01

everyone i've asked today has said they are voting labour or liberal democrat.

i know two tory voters in total and one of them is getting loads of stick from his spouse!

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 19:01

I will be watching Brooker and Mitchell interspersed with the BBC

My neighbour's hideous Tory sign fell over today ..........maybe its a signal of what's to come

Batteryhuman · 06/05/2010 19:03

So you lot have all started drinking already? I am trying to remain positive hoping for a proper balanced result so that electoral reform is a real possibility but my lefty pessimism is starting to kick in. My DS voted for the first time and joined me in the keep the tories out camp.

Wine time then.

KayHarker · 06/05/2010 19:03

I think it'lll be a mix of channel 4 and here tonight. On proper meds so no plonk to enable me to cope. Bugger.
