why is it ok to talk about who you are going to vote before before but very bad form to ask people who they voted for after?

TheCappster · 06/05/2010 20:28

ooh hello

it's been a while I know but I may need comfort

Piccalilli2 · 06/05/2010 20:28

Just been and wasted my leftie vote in Clegg's constituency. And oh my, you should have seen the queue.

tvaerialmagpiebin · 06/05/2010 20:28

I'm hankering after some fish and chips. Why are there no f&c delivery services, like other (inferior) takeaways? Hmm... Can I blame waxy Dave (LOL at that)

DS asleep and an hour and a half before the polls close. There is nothing at all in my kitchen I fancy eating, grrrr.

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 06/05/2010 20:29

I so want to stay up but I will regret it - busy day at work tomorrow so maybe not

the woman at my polling station said she's been a poll clerk or whatever it is for nearly 30 years and this is the busiest she's seen it :O

The UKIP candidate was there. he's a skinhead, tattoed, very pierced biker who also runs very unpopular nightclubs in this area so I dont rate his chances.

I have also namechanged to show my support!

onebatonevote · 06/05/2010 20:32

Who's declaring when.

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 20:33

I suspect the lack of fish and chip takeaway is all Dave Cameron's fault.

I also find it hard to reconcile Iraq with voting Labour. BUT I don't think that anything would have been better under the COnservatives, and they all supported the war. It was fucking awful, but there are other issues as well

BecauseIAgreeWithGordon · 06/05/2010 20:33

Yes, pw, I'm after political/election folk to follow on Twitter.

DS1 has voted Labour in his first election!

jenny60 · 06/05/2010 20:34

Hard isn't it Monkey, but needs must right now.

ahundredtimes · 06/05/2010 20:34

Cappy!

Have you decided whether LD's are allowed in or not? Even dh cast an LD vote to keep Tories out here.

Am nervous. I don't think it's going too well, think LD voters taking Lab support in key Lab/Con marginals.

You might want to think about this, and let me know whether LD's allowed here or not

sfxmum · 06/05/2010 20:34

we are about to open the second bottle and polls haven't even closed yet
be up all night I think

Northernlurker · 06/05/2010 20:35

We're going to be fine - just you wait and see.

but still - we'll be fine

taffetatactical · 06/05/2010 20:35

I had a sort of laugh with the BNP fruit and veg man. I ordered:

  • a red pepper
  • 2 red onions
  • some of your lovely juicy red plums
  • half a bag of red grapes
  • some juicy red apples
  • assorted radish, beetroot etc

I've never met a real life racist BNP voter before though so it was all done a bit stutteringly.

MrsChemist · 06/05/2010 20:36

Urgh. 5 in the morning. I'm well not staying up.

sfxmum · 06/05/2010 20:36

I recall in 97 being up all night going out sometime in the morning to pick up all the papers with dh and meeting up with friends for brunch, everyone seemed happy

policywonk, how do you know obama said that?

TheCappster · 06/05/2010 20:37

Oh. 97. We sat in a cafe garden in Ambleside and read every single broadsheet and ate bread in the sunshine and got drunk

of course we had no damn kids

EweStupidToryVoters · 06/05/2010 20:38

Bugger all Lenin!

taffetatactical · 06/05/2010 20:39

elliemental - its the opposite round here. You can't discuss it before but everyone was talking about it at cricket tonight. Some were even wearing rosettes, like horses or something. Not a stablemate in sight. Thats why I MN - I'd go insane otherwise.

onebatonevote · 06/05/2010 20:41

CAAAAAAAAPPS!

It's good to see you, man

RedRedApples · 06/05/2010 20:41

evening clocking in...well I have

the daily show
nice warm socks
dorritos
dip
and am drinking a lovely cup of tea whilst I decide whether to open a nice white burgundy or an okish but there are two bottles of it shiraz???

EweStupidToryVoters · 06/05/2010 20:41

I was only 10 in 1997 so I don't remember much apart from listening to the radio and my Dad being incredibly happy.

I hope to get a 'moment' at some point in my life though, just not this year!
