MarionCole · 06/05/2010 20:43

My resounding memory from 1997 is the picture of Cherie Blair when she opened her front door the morning after.

I've found some Doritos in the garage.#

In a sealed package, naturally.

WilfSellOut · 06/05/2010 20:43

I had just moved in with DH in summer 1997. First flush and sex without babies. It was a thrilling time.

MarionCole · 06/05/2010 20:44

I really want to stay up late but it's a big day at work tomorrow with an end of year meeting and a treasure hunt. Urgh.

I think I will try and sleep between 1am and 5:30am and then just get a very early night tomorrow. Oh and I have exams to revise for next week, hideous timing all round really.

TheCappster · 06/05/2010 20:44

it's KayHarker!

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 20:45

1997 - I was at the end of being 17 - we were clubbing til 3, back at houses drinking and watching the polls and then carried on to the next day.

these days, with children, not even sure I will make Sunderland.

MissMarjoribanks · 06/05/2010 20:45

Hello all, hope it's OK to join you - have pointlessly voted Labour today in a completely safe Tory seat, but I have always had a soft spot for an underdog.

I'm also a unrepentant leftie and Labour are, despite my misgivings about some of their actions in government, the closest to my ideology.

I have a very very bad feeling about this evening. It will be made worse by vile Tory DH being smug and shoving pictures of George Osbourne in my face.

EweStupidToryVoters · 06/05/2010 20:45

Haha Marion, that is fab. Hungover?

toomuchmum · 06/05/2010 20:46

So true beachcomber,

GB just does not fit into the celebrity culture, it makes me so angry. I don't want my PM to offer sychophantic smiles and no substance.

Celeb culture - WTF was Simon Cowell doing on the front page fo the Sun yesterday, aaargghhh.

KayHarker · 06/05/2010 20:46

Do I know you Cappster?

TheCappster · 06/05/2010 20:47

Yes you idiot it is me, Cappy

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 20:47

yuck, Marjori, is he does that I think you can do a Danny Dyer and cut his face.

TheCappster · 06/05/2010 20:48
Beachcomber · 06/05/2010 20:48

So glad to hear he is a good 'un from someone in his constintuency.

TheFirstLady · 06/05/2010 20:49

Jeez, they don't expect Devon North to declare till 4am. Going to be a long night.
Right, two out of three children in bed, just got to sew ribbons on three pairs of ballet shoes and I can hit the wine. Red, of course.

MarionCole · 06/05/2010 20:50

Crewe & Nantwich is 4am too. Can't see me lasting, especially as DS will be up at 6am wanting to go swimming.

policywonk · 06/05/2010 20:50

Ah hello Lunatic, good stuff.

Hello cappy

Rosette, it was quoted in the Guardian today

KeeptheRedFennelFlying · 06/05/2010 20:50

Devon Central isn't til 5am. I can't stay up til them. am feeling old. I might pretend I'm in Exeter where it's 2am. we live very near to the boundary line...

MissMarjoribanks · 06/05/2010 20:51

Pfft - We nearly came to blows on our trip to the polling station. DS was asleep, so thankfully didn't witness his mother calling his father a 'fucking Tory wanker' and his father calling his mother a 'left wing traitor'. We love eachother really.

KayHarker · 06/05/2010 20:51

Ah Cappster, thought it might be thee - was just angling for a few cliquey clues.

Now I just need the warm fuzzies about the election...

Beachcomber · 06/05/2010 20:52

Also glad to hear that Cameron comes across as a lightweight, thanks for that Policywonk.

TheCappster · 06/05/2010 20:53

I feel unable to provide warm fuzzies, sadly.

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 06/05/2010 20:53

Think we may need the double strength Swiss chocolate tonight.
