...on the grounds that if we assume there will be a Tory govt, then the crowing triumphalism of all the Chinless Wonders and Thrusting Monetarists and Nasty Racists who'll poke in here to crow and gloat, will somehow force a cosmic rift in the time-space continuum. And it will be like 1992 all over again but the other way round.

I fear the best we can hope for is a hung parliament.

I've suggested hemlock for the Election Night supper thread...

Where I live is now Tory
But where I hope to move to is still labour.

ThatVikRinA22 · 07/05/2010 07:36

fuck a duck.

cannot believe the stupidity of people, thought ours was a safe labour seat - are people really so desperate to stick it to Gordon Brown that they would rather a tory council that knackered it up last time round? plus (our local mp) he looks completely gormless to boot.

am now a very depressed leftie.

sfxmum · 07/05/2010 07:38

we have a Tory MP now

trice · 07/05/2010 07:40

we have a tory mp too. majority of less than 1000.

I could cry. But instead I have got the email address of my new mp so that I can start hassling lobbying him.

ThatVikRinA22 · 07/05/2010 07:40

im off back to bed, am pissed off in extreme, would like a duvet day but a duvet hour or so will have to do,people are muppets!

sfxmum · 07/05/2010 07:41

Indecent swing am just very sad and disappointed

NomDePlume · 07/05/2010 07:42

Our has gone from a red seat to a blue seat

We were identified as a key target margin seat by the Tories though so the guy was going hell for leather campaigning-wise. Our region is now a sea of blue, blue, blue.

SparklyGothKat · 07/05/2010 07:43

we had a tory MP, still have a Tory MP with 50% of the votes...

NomDePlume · 07/05/2010 07:44

majorityof just under 3000

TDiddy · 07/05/2010 07:46

yes, and Clegg has boxed himself in a bit by saying that he wouldn't work with Brown and that he would allow the largest party first crack at forming a govt

NomDePlume · 07/05/2010 07:47

Scarier than than the fact that the tories got a better share of the vote in my area is that more people voted BNP this time than they did last last time. 300 more people (it was 900 in '05, 1200 this time and voter numbers were about the same). They'll never get in around here but it is worrying to see their support gathering momentum.

TDiddy · 07/05/2010 07:52

NomDePlume- can I ask whether you are in Greater London?

meandjoe · 07/05/2010 07:56

Well as predicted Labour held their own here thank God but it is a pretty dafe seat here (scunthorpe). Getting very worried looking at the figures now. Another 40 seats and we're screwed !

BouncingTurtle · 07/05/2010 07:57

I agree NDP - unfortunately there are bigotted scum everywhere

cheerfulvicky · 07/05/2010 08:16

Tory here now as well, majority of just 400. Arghhh!

pinkgrapefruitjuice · 07/05/2010 08:33

Labour held here with a majority of a few thousand. Thank god, he is a great mp!

TDiddy · 07/05/2010 08:35

I have sitting Tory but I campaigned here as well as in nearby marginal. For the next election, maybe we should all find a marginal to do canvassing in.

lineky · 07/05/2010 08:43

Liberal here and Scotland as a whole still only ONE tory MP - Thank God for small mercies

BouncingTurtle · 07/05/2010 08:46

43 seats to go...

Scorpia · 07/05/2010 16:13

If Clegg does a deal with Cameron we are all up the creek without a paddle. I've been living in a sea of blue for years but I hoped thast the rest of the country had some sense. Not to mention the fact that I'm sure my friends who voted Lib Dem because they believed Clegg's 'Progressive Party' crap will be wondering where the 'progressive' comes into toadying up to the CONservatives. I guess the lesson may well be that if it looks like a Tory, sounds like a Tory, it probably is a Tory......

Any room left in Scotland for a little one?

ThatVikRinA22 · 07/05/2010 19:12

i bloody knew if you voted for Clegg youd end up with Cameron. fucking hell.

i voted labour for all the good it did, but im glad i didnt vote lib dem now.

Just posted this on another thread: I think this was a good election to lose? Tories and NC get into bed together and have to do nasty cuts. Labour kicks back and gets shiny new leader. DC manage to kick PR into the long grass so his unhappy supporters + public sector workers return Labour back into office with majority on firts past the post....as Mervyn King said this was a good election to lose.
