i think i once got up to NO GOOD there.

Just seen the inside of the Great Hall on the news. Last time I was in there was for my graduation in 1986.

DS1 saw the Great Hall on the news tonight and said, "That's where you went to big school". I explained why it was on the news and he wanted to know if there was going to be a prime ministerial debate at his infant school too....

I was there too but before you lot (80-83).
Great place and a wonderful 3 years.
Didn't the campus look at it's best today on the news - trees in blossom - and no pesky students cluttering up the place.....

I'm ex- Birmingham! I was there 2000-2004.

If I remember correctly(!) I lived in Chamberlain on the Vale on the 10th floor. As a modern languages student I had most of my lectures and seminars in the God-awful Muirhead tower. When it was windy the windows would rattle and shake violently!

The paternosters were fab. I loved them, despite never actually needing to go on them as I was in the basement. Have no idea what happened on the eleventh floor, so you are safe.

Muirhead Tower so awful!
I remember taking my finals in the Great Hall.
And I had an exam on a Sat, which I still believe is completely WRONG!

What? They are rebuilding the Muirhead?! Why on earth don't they just get rid and put something a bit less grey there

The sound of footsteps echoing on the concourse under it was weird. And the vibrations.

I was there 91-94. IIRC they used to close Muirhead Tower in high winds as the glass would fall out .

No- Muirhead looks all swanky now and 'futuristic'..... Much better than it looked (think it still sways in the wind though)
