Greens adopt policy treating Zionism as racism

The Greens have formally adopted a policy which equates Zionism with racism, a move that will dismay the bulk of the party’s MPs and has alarmed some Jewish members.

In a vote on Sunday at the party’s annual conference in Brighton about whether to back a motion which calls for Zionism, the movement for a Jewish state, to be “treated as any other form of racism”, it passed by 1,022 votes to 813.

The motion, which is now formal policy for the Greens in England and Wales, also calls for a single Palestinian state in place of Israel “with equal rights for all”.

Four of the party’s five MPs have condemned the motion, as did Caroline Lucas, the former leader who was the Greens’ first MP.

Adrian Ramsay, who co-led the Greens before Polanski, said in a statement he would vote against it, as it set out what sort of Palestinian state should exist without taking into account the self-determination of Israelis and Palestinians.

Siân Berry, another of the MPs, made the same point.

Carla Denyer, the Bristol Central MP who was co-leader with Ramsay, said the wording “risks alienating a significant proportion of Jewish people, including those who vehemently disagree with the Israeli government”.

Another Green MP, Ellie Chowns, said the motion “risks fuelling division, and risks undermining the party’s ability to advocate effectively for justice and peace”.

I mean, it's clear these people are committing terrorist attacks. Why, as they are obviously supportive of them say they agree with them/freedom fighters/ armed resistance wholeheartedly instead of pretending terrorists aren't doing terrorist things when they and their cronies have advocated for a single Palestinian state ' by any means necessary' anyway, so what do they think that means? Either admit that you approve of terrorist attacks or stay quiet but what's the point of pretending it was something else when they are doing something you want? I know he's in Your Party but as far as I can see the only difference between them and The Greens is that they openly dislike Polanski rather than seeing him as a useful idiot.

Also think it's funny that they are so accepting of Palestinians taking land 'by any means necessary' in their words - but the idea of Israel defending itself 'by any means necessary' is the ultimate evil

EdithStourton · 07/10/2026 18:51

I hope those arrested get the book thrown at them, I really do. I'm not usually vindictive, but this whole situation has got out of hand.

As for that woman with her self-righteous watermelon - what an absolute useful idiot. Performative fool.

Oh, but you don't understand!
Israel is a nation of white colonisers.

Provided you ignore that half of the population that is Mizrahi or Ethiopian.

Also hilarious for this hijacked party to talk about non-native colonisers

Yea, how long would she last under Hamas?

Yep. Clan voting - Biradari, which is what I posted about yesterday. A huge danger to western democracy - you only have to see how toxic politics is in Pakistan where it is endemic.

This is another individual, MP for Perry Barr, who is part of Your Party, who has some interesting views on Israel and Jewish people.

“he claimed he had a "problem with the credibility” of some accounts detailing the Hamas massacre,“

https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/row-over-anti-semitism-birmingham-28433802

“Previously, Mr Khan cast doubt on reports that women had been raped during the Hamas-led Oct 7 2023 attacks on Israel.“

“A pro-Gaza MP has shared a conspiracy theory about the attempted hijacking of an Israel-bound flight”

“Not going to simply accept what the lying Bibi butcher of Gaza says.” “I smell a rat”

https://www.aol.com/articles/think-smell-rat-pro-palestine-121928000.html

Now it’s been proven the attack on the plane was an attempted terrorist attack, has Khan apologised?

This is an MP in Birmingham, in England, not Pakistan. Absolute shocker.

News reports always refer to “figures supplied by the Hamas run health ministry”

Hamas are a proscribed terrorist organisation, based on extreme Islamic fundamentalism, that have no morals or scruples about summary executions etc, so why are people so gullible and not view the casualty numbers supplied with a bit of scepticism? The protestors accept the figures as absolute gospel and become quite maniacal if anyone dares to question any of the propaganda they are no doubt being fed.

I have a hope that one day, the Western world might thank Israel and acknowledge that that brave country is all that is standing between us and extremists hell bent on turning the world into a caliphate. Currently, all we seem to be doing is chipping away at our last line of defence and offering the fanatics all the encouragement they don’t need.

Sad times.

I notice the BBC always uses this phrase. Useful idiots.

Guess who has sent a message of solidarity and support to Zack Polanski criticising the 'barrage of abuse' Zack and the Green Party have received, merely for 'standing up against all forms of racism'?

Hi just a warning- posting instagrams reveals your actual identity, which with a large number of nutters on a topic such as this is not a good idea.

I've just been looking at reel after reel of support for 🇮🇱 solidarity and at the same time, condemnation of today's events. The cult is seen for what it is and their days are numbered. Counter protests shouted over the hate, reminders of the murdered Jewish victims were broadcast around the hate marches. Today was the start of an accelerating fight back.

These marches are sickening. Today of all days.

Some disturbing details of what some Jewish students have experienced detailed in this piece too.

Cult is exactly what it is. Some kind of hive mindedness that seems to have taken over, where dissenting opinions are slowly discouraged or actively punished, making it socially safer to agree than to question.
Almost exactly how those that seek a change of regime would like their followers to be.

Zack Polanski has now got a popularity rating lower than Farage.

AlwaysRoomForGin · 07/10/2026 23:57

Just coming on the thread to say that my daughter & I managed to make it (by the skin of our teeth!) to the Memorial near Downing Street earlier today with the Chief Rabbi etc. Our train was delayed so it was a scramble to drop bags off to hospital ahead of appointments & then dash over.
My daughter was (somewhat understandably) worried about us attending and possible risks but as ever the CST & police were a reassuring & appreciated presence.
It was very moving, hearing the names and ages of British citizens who died as well as those with close ties to the UK community being read aloud, the pictures & flags too.
It felt like the least we could do to honour them in some way by being there I suppose.

I mused the other day whether I would vote Reform to keep the Greens out.

I would and am not ashamed to admit it.

Reform are dangerous and would be a disaster for the country but the Greens would be a bigger and more immediate threat.

The Greens have to be kept out at all costs I agree. Luckily they have shot themselves in the foot with this vote. The extremists within the party showed their hand too soon. I guess they just aren’t that bright.

That's lovely to hear. I thought about going to London but it would be a massive endeavour for me from Scotland and I just couldn't face it. I was watching the videos from the New York memorial in horror so I'm glad to hear the atmosphere in London was much more peaceful.
