Do you know, I suspect she really would be cackling over that.

Oh right, you mean DM FACTS?
Nope!
Just gullible narrow-minded people! 🙄

What on Earth has the DM got to do with anything I said?! Just making things up as you go along.

The police have revealed what they know to be facts relating to this. No need to be facetious about it all.

HelenaWilson · 22/07/2026 16:45

There is a massive backlog in the courts still, which is perhaps why it will take so long.

And the police probably still have enquiries to carry out. It takes time to go through phone and internet records. Then all that information has to be made available to the accused's legal team so they can plan the defence.

Exactly. But people (not pp) are trying to make a conspiracy theory out of the wait for a trial too.

ToastSafeFromMothsAndDogs · 22/07/2026 16:53

Tbf it is the most British thing ever that the conspiracy theories around a vicious political murder centre on arguments about congestion on the M5.

Sadly this is yet another very ordinary case of a man who wanted to kill a woman and found himself a vulnerable target and made up a reason to do it

That’s not British, most Brit’s have a few brains cells. That’s just ridiculous attention seeking.

its the same nonsense as the moon landings faked, elvis is alive, bill gates was injecting us all with micro chips during covid, the world is flat , 9/11 and Kennedy assanarion were done by the government, the illuminati run the world and endless other shite some people make up to seek attention.

but on a thread like this it’s sick.

Cutting to the chase, the motive is not yet established. But it's either personal or political and if I had to hazard a guess then I would say it's because the killer didn't agree with her politics (Reform) or political views on something (anti abortion, anti gay marriage, pro Brexit etc etc)

Lalgarh · 22/07/2026 17:13

LuckyHazelFox · 22/07/2026 16:28

Go for it 👍

So yeah!

This is the strangest and largest quantity of angel delight most people have seen though and frankly it looks like it's been fortified with...

Sandwich spread maybe 🤔

placemats · 22/07/2026 17:17

So did Ann Widdecombe have a penchant for Angel Delight and sandwich spread?

Eta What does this have to do with her horrific murder?

thehardestpartis · 22/07/2026 17:18

One thing that’s really surprised me is how reform seemingly don’t care that much and are happy to risk jeopardising the trial in order to score points on social media.

I doubt there will be a trial and the murderer only had Anne as the first one. He had other reform MPs he was going to kill next

He had a list of other reform MPs, she was just to be the first, it was political, he self radicalised himself.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 22/07/2026 17:22

@1dayatatime It's like a riddle, isn't it. When is a fact not a fact? When it's a fact that I don't agree with 🙄.

Where are you getting this information from?

Eta Ann Widdecombe wasn't a Reform MP.

What?

Reform are absolutely placing a trial in jeopardy with their postings on social media. It’s quite sad they don’t think Ann deserves the respect of a proper trial.

I think he will plead guilty, alternatively they will go for instanity. I’m no reform fan but the murderer had a list of their MPs to murder. They’ve every reason to be upset. I don’t think any trial is in jeapordy at all

either he will plead guilty due to the overwhelming evidence, or he will go for insanity and then it’s irrelevant what reform MPs say

there is no doubt he did it, they have the bloody video footage,

Until such time as a plea is entered, they are jeopardising a trial. A defence of not guilty by way of insanity would still go to trial.

They are risking that potential trial.

They have advocated for a particularly nasty form of politics in recent years. Perhaps this would be the time to reflect, and not continue to stoke the flames of division further? And certainly not to risk the trial of the alleged murderer of their colleague!

LuckyHazelFox · 22/07/2026 17:33

I would say Reform are rightly bricking it. Problem as well is this gives other extremists ideas. Politics and religion eh.

I think what they meant to say was that if it does proceed to trial it’ll be on a defence of not guilty by way of insanity. A high bar to reach.

At the moment nobody knows what will happen. We don’t know the evidence against him. But for reform to tweet like this, they’re risking a jury trial! It’s nonsensical

No.

This is about the TRA who was gloating at her death and now wants to make out he's Aung San Syu Kii because the police have got interested in some of the things themselves polycule seemed to have foreknowledge of

placemats · 22/07/2026 17:47

Well given the posts on Angel Delight and sandwich spread, heaven only knows what would compromise the trial.
