Just wondering who everyone hopes will win??

I'm hoping for a Burnham win but as long as it's not Kenyon I can live with it.

Yes I am being serious. The 11% inflation rate in 2022 was a direct result of the Truss budget. There’s currently a war in the Middle East affecting supply side inflation, it’s still less than 3%.

Good grief.
Inflation is expected to rocket later this year. Will you blame the war in Iran, or Starmer's budget?

Why did inflation rise from 2% when Labour took office, to 3.8% within a year? You still haven't answered.

Voters in a nut shell:

If bad things happen when the party I like is in power it's a combination of global events outside their control.

If bad things happen when the party I don't like is in power it's all their fault.

It's the same in the states.

I’ll decide if and when it happens. It seems it’s fine for those who detest this government on principle to blame external factors for the failings of their preferred party but somehow the economy is supposed to be impervious under this government when other geopolitical events come into play.

I’m hoping the previously elected Labour MP will give his head a wobble and say ‘fuck you Burnham you egotistical prick, I was voted in by the electorate and I’m staying’

Inflation was 11% in 2022, it’s now 2.8%. We were in recession for the last two quarters of 2023, we’re not now. That doesn’t look remotely worse to me.

When UK inflation was 11% the worldwide inflation was at the same level, it was war in Ukraine which pushed up energy prices and post covid impact.

When Tory were leaving the office inflation came down to just over 2%. So trajectory was down under Tory.

Labour upped it to 3.something% even before Iran. And it's substantially higher than in surrounding part of the world. Means trajectory is up under Labour.

But you will never ever agree that Labour are wrong.

Show me the source of the “correct” information then.

Evidence that the invasion of Ukraine pushed up inflation? Come on.

Still no source then? Global inflation in 2022 was 7.9%.

Thank you.

The main drivers of the annual inflation rate for CPIH and CPI are the same where they are common to both measures. However, the owner occupiers' housing costs (OOH) component accounts for around 17% of the CPIH and is the main driver for differences between the CPIH and CPI inflation rates.

Remind me, what increased mortgages?

It is one year since former prime minister Liz Truss’s ‘Mini-Budget’ created a month of madness in the mortgage sector. The raft of unfunded tax cuts

Ill laugh till my wides split if Labour beat Reform by whatever share of the vote Restore get, that'll be hillarious.

I hope they do, and I say that as a reform member. If labour win by the few percent restore take then, yeah it wont be great short term, but absolutely the kick up the bum that is needed for reform/restore/tories/advance to sort themselves out for the general. So I'll happily take your giggles now for the bigger gain down the road.

Neither will back down, they've both proven it. It's a joy to behold.
