Are we all looking forward to David Lammy becoming PM?

There's no way Starmer can survive this latest scandal.

Lord Mandelson failed his security vetting for the US ambassador job, but he still got the post anyway.

Starmer stood up in Parliament last September and insisted "full due process" was followed — three times.

He therefore either misled parliament and has to resign under the Ministerial Code, or his advisors have misled him and parliament, which is likely a criminal matter and suggests a level of almost unbelievable government incompetence or corruption.

What great things are you hoping this country will achieve under PM Lammy?

Hope that sad little rant was therapeutic for you, it can’t be easy carrying around so much bigotry and bitterness every day.

You’re joking, I hope.

”Sad” is posting in support of Starmer, the most useless and mendacious PM we’ve ever had. Come back Boris, all is forgiven!

Nah, I’m not joking, but I don’t expect someone who refers to a group of people as being ‘mostly very thick’ to have any self-awareness or the scope to recognise that, which is rather ironic. It makes sense you’d prefer Johnson.

I often despair when the unions supported Red Ed over David, but he’ll never return to uk politics.

Both are useless IMO, a classic interview moment was when Dave was saying that people should take asylum seekers into their homes, when asked how many he would be taking into his NY apartment he started going "Oh we don"t have room, there are the four of us here, it is a relatively small apartment" blah blah blah, they have no place in UK politics with their fantasy globalist policies IMO

Well…I suppose we’ll just have to agree to disagree about the calibre of Labour MPs.

But I just don’t get why anyone would go out to support that idiot Starmer. He’s a copper-bottomed fool and an obnoxious - and deeply unpleasant and untrustworthy - arse-covering nonentity.

I’m sure the UK can find someone better than him.

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame “So, armed with my careful and scientifically controlled survey of Labour MPs, and my in-depth peer-reviewed psychological study of them, I can tell you that Labour MPs are:….”

Peer reviewed conclusion:

(a) they’ll rediscover their principles when their majority starts to shrink.

(b) “er….did badly in local elections….er….this could cost me my seat”

(c) “er….he’s a liability”

(d) And for the rest of us we look on our with our bemused, ranty, bigoted, bitter selves and shake our heads.

That’s a lot of words to try and justify labelling the best part of 400 people ‘thick’ and ‘losers’ because you disagree with their politics - you can critique Starmer and the government without that drivel. Keep shaking that head.

MNLurker1345 · 27/04/2026 19:08

@Sherbs12, Yes I could use just two, if that feels better - Labour “s*m”! I just couldn’t bring my self to use the word!

So, Labour politicians and supporters are scum? If you’re going to mouth off, at least have the backbone to say it outright.
You seem a bit rattled - hope you feel better for that.

MNLurker1345 · 27/04/2026 19:26

No, I just don’t use that kind of language!

It’s not an insult I would use. But it was apparently good enough for Angela Rayner.

You actually seem quite rattled. This is a forum for a wide range of opinions on a wide range of topics.

You are the one that got quite angry about @DenizenOfAisleOfShame post, which politics aside, I found humorous and articulate.

For those of us that have a different opinion to you, the post articulated many points that many of us agree with.

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame next post was even better.

Back bone and head shaking aside, I am fine and totally unrattled.

Let’s keep insults directed at the politicians. Nothing personal!

Calling out pp for labelling a large group of people as ‘thick’ and ‘losers’ is not being personal or getting angry.

And however you typed it, you meant ‘Labour scum’ - that’s a particularly derogatory insult.

And don’t worry, I won’t be taking any of it personally.

Angela Rayner, I quote “Tory scum”! There! Not personal to you! There!

I had originally posted with some - I’d have thought obvious - humour about Labour MPs’ shortcomings.

But if you want to get all worked up about it, yes, I do think the present parliamentary Labour Party is shallow and talentless. I see hardly any admirable Labour MPs. As a group they’re a supine, useless bunch of nobodies.

I’m not really sure what your point is here amidst all of the exclamation marks. Are you comparing yourself to Angela Rayner?

Just keep digging - you’ve certainly given me a laugh.

MNLurker1345 · 27/04/2026 20:19

Let me spell it out for you!!!!!!

Angela Rayner, our next PM, then in opposition, stood at the dispatch box in the house of commons and used the words “Tory scum”.

That is what I have been alluding to all the time.

You could say, “why didn’t you just say that?”,
instead of using such hyperbole and rhetorical nonsense.

Do you remember?

MNLurker1345 · 27/04/2026 20:31

I am actual roaring with laughter. I feel like Kemi Badenoch.

Now @Sherbs12, that is a comparison.

Anyone watching MMcS now? ET just went through the list of allegedly potential ambassadors prior to the US election: "...even George Osborne..." 😂

I’ve got it on in the background. I’m warming to ET particularly since the committee seem to be realising OR gave correct info and shouldn’t have been sacked. Barton was good.

HellenicOfTroy · 28/04/2026 11:49

She's certainly astute, @EasternStandard, and I reckon she's ideal in this role. I didn't catch any of Barton but might go and watch some. MMcS' initial statement was pretty well-judged, I think. (I'm not saying I believe him!!)
