I’m seriously impressed with this guy. Anyone else find him refreshingly honest and sensible?

“English” people don’t want the low skilled jobs.

Tough shit.

The jobs need doing. You don’t get benefits if there are jobs you can do.

The immigration Ponzi scheme needs to end.

MellersSmellers · 17/10/2025 19:01

Be careful about dismissing this guy. I have a 60+ friend and a DS26 who are both seriously impressed by him as they new, serious voice of the left.
Personally I think he's a snake oil salesman - so much yabber but with little substance. And as always, talk is cheap when you're unlikely to be held to account. Like Farage.

The guy who told women they could make their breasts bigger through hypnosis? That guy? Um, no.

So apparently… it’s an attention-grabbing headline, but when the story first broke years ago, what happened really isn’t that scandalous.
Man worked as hypnotherapist. Female reporter wanted to write a slightly tongue-in-cheek article about it. It’s The Sun, so naturally as part of the interview she said “Could you hypnotise me to make my boobs grow bigger?”
He said “No, that’s ridiculous.”
She said “Oh, go on, just for a bit of a laugh.”
He said “Ok, well if I was going to do it, this is what I’d do.”
No money changed hands. The woman reported no change in the size of her breasts.

Did not call out Sian Berry last week.
Enough

If you are seriously impressed by Zack Polanski, you need your brain rewiring.

He is not remotely serious, none of his policies stand up to any real world scrutiny. He’s an A level politics student who has somehow become leader of a political party.

Funny how he was more than happy to link to the article in his blog afterwards and credited it with helping his hypnotherapy business grow.

Only now when he needs to be taken seriously as a so called politician, does the narrative change to him being ‘misrepresented’. Yeah, right, Zack. Keep misquoting Tony Benn and that will make it all better.

Could the calibre of our political leaders BE any lower (in the tone of Chandler Bing). And I include the leaders of all parties in that statement. I despair.

sladtheinkaler · 18/10/2025 07:05

I listened to him being interviewed by Lewis Goodall yesterday.
I thought he was extremely skilled at having a clever answer and steering the conversation, but I didn't warm to him. He didn't actually say very much of substance - it was more about communicating how deeply he cares about all the currently fashionable issues. I saw someone upthread use the word 'omnicause' and yes, that's him. But no word on how exactly he plans to do any of it.

Sorry - many of us are! And that figure is growing every day.
Great that he’s replacing Farage as the no 1 news item.

I’m sure Farage is more than happy to make way for a hypnoboobist.

AlphaApple · 23/10/2025 09:43

"Better than Farage" is not the ringing endorsement you think it is. My dog has better critical thinking skills than both Farage and Polanski. They are both grifters, profiting from being able to spin untruths into narratives convincing enough for people who get their news solely from TikTok.

Agree (though would add GBNews)

Something of Farage about him to me. He is a sort of plausible rogue. It was obvious he would win the leadership. The pair he was up against were not very good at the media stuff. It would be nice to have a Labour leader who can string a few sincere sentences together and isn't a charlatan.

There's an interview with Leo Varadkar in the Guardian. Obviously, as a mixed race gay man , he is no friend of the far right. But he remarks that far right leaders he has met seem to be friendly and relaxed. Why are our leftwing leaders like dysfunctional robots reading an AI script? Fear , I suppose. Sigh.

Leo Varadkar is a right wing politician who headed a right wing party and pursued right wing policies with the exception of social issues because he knows Ireland is more socially liberal. He was also happy to bring in self-id and sell women down the river. Being mixed race and gay doesn't mean you are not right wing, he has a lot more in common with Farage's policies than with the current governments!

AlphaApple · 23/10/2025 10:39

@MrsSkylerWhite yes, I forgot about GB News. The only thing they are useful for is free speech and the gender self-id debacle.

Although, my perception is that anyone vaguely right of centre in politics is too quickly caricatured as "far right".

Hoppinggreen · 23/10/2025 15:08

Clearinguptheclutter · 14/09/2025 10:35

Yes. With all the right wing nutcases there needs to be a properly lefty movement to respond

We need nutcases from all sides then?

I'd add BBC to that.

I’m not sure he thinks he needs any plans. He sees himself as something of a revolutionary. He wants to redistribute wealth and doesn’t seem to care if that drives ‘rich’ people away, in fact, he seems to welcome the idea that evil billionaires will leave the UK.

If anyone has any links to his commentary on how he would actually run the country, I’d be interested to read it. Thus far, all I’ve seen are soundbites about fixing inequality and when asked how he would do that he suggests a wealth tax but without any of the detail to understand how that would work in the long term.

LaLaLand12345678 · 24/10/2025 08:15

Ahhh are we talking about the same Zac Polanski who thinks women have penises??

Talkinpeace · 24/10/2025 13:40

The Green MP for Brighton blamed women for
provoking men into vandalising council property

Until Polanski calls her out for such victim blaming
he will never get my vote

He won't call her out because everything he has said and done since he's come to prominence in the Green Party (way before he became leader) suggests that he agrees with her.

BlueSkySunshineDay · 26/10/2025 10:28

This is quite funny posted on his instagram feed - The Daily Mail are frothing - not about his policies, but about his voice and appearance 🙄
He’s certainly doing something right!

I think his political stance, certainly around Palestine fits with my views. I find him compassionate and I desperately need to see someone trying to be more human than hateful. There is so much hate and greed in the world.

I don’t completely agree with his trans stance. But overall he gets my vote.

I agree with you.
I’m just very concerned that splitting the votes on the left will land us with a reform government.
We really need a coalition.

His trans stance shows his lack of compassion to me.

He has no compassion to long standing, hardworking members of the Green Party who have been suspended or expelled for believing in biological reality and supporting women's rights and the safeguarding of children.

He has no compassion for women forced to share intimate spaces with men.
