I’m seriously impressed with this guy. Anyone else find him refreshingly honest and sensible?

I think there was a time very recently when the Greens were trying to expel people from the party who did not take their trans stance.
If that is how they still stand then of course I could not vote for them.
It's more than just something we disagree on.
It would be like taking any one other policy (I think we should have tax on wine) and saying you couldn't join if you disagreed with that.

I'll have to look into that. I suspect Zack's not of that mindset, as one of his deputy leaders is a fairly socially conservative Muslim. The other deputy leader seems to be a strong impressive woman who grew up in the church. Zack's Jewish.
I like that about the leadership team, that all three Abrahamic religious traditions are represented.

Do you think he's lying about his views on this, that he actually does not believe this?
I assumed that he did (wrongly) believe it.

I was totally anti Green because I disagree with them so much on this, but I am coming around to them in other ways, especially as the alternative is so grim.

Yes, I think he's lying. He doesn't really believe it, he's just decided that he wants support from certain people at the expense of support from other people. It's a political calculation.

oldwhyno · 15/10/2025 15:35

PotatoesandOatsforlife · 15/10/2025 10:05

Respectfully, I think that's unfair. I don't think he's lying as such. I think he genuinely thinks that, as he believes in defining men/women in terms of gender rather than biological sex. I disagree with him, but that doesn't make him a liar. Just someone with a different viewpoint.
I think he's a good man. I don't have to agree with him on everything.
Obviously for many gender critical folks, it'd be the most important issue, and prevent them voting Green, which is absolutely fine. But, it's not the clincher for me. I'm much more worried about climate change, child poverty, wealth inequality, animal welfare, the NHS, education etc. So, I feel I could still vote Green, even if I disagree on the trans issue.

Everybody knows women don't have penises, so to come out and say they do is to deny objective truth.

If he were being honest he'd say "No, women as defined by their sex, do not have penises, but I believe that the concept of gender is more important to society than sex, and that we should define "woman" to mean anybody that feels they're a woman. Therefore in this context women can have penises, because any man (as defined by their sex) that expresses the belief that they're a woman can be a woman."

If he said that I would begin to have some respect for his position on the matter.

To be fair, he had Pierce Morgan literally shouting at him at the time so I can imagine it would have been difficult to think straight. Awful interview.

Talkinpeace · 15/10/2025 16:41

Sian Berry the Green MP for Brighton said that women provoked the Trans Activists into smashing the windows of the Brighton Centre before the Filia Conference.

Zack Polanski has not called her out for it.

The Greens have a problem recognising the rights of half the population.

It's still happening. Zack thinks that GCs are bigots and has said that we don't belong in the Green Party.

Have a look at the Greens in Exile website.

I know people who are waiting for complaints against them to be heard and who are expecting to be suspended or expelled.

I thought this was still the case.
I can't think of another group of people who are not welcome in any political party. Especially one that really needs votes.
Many parties are very welcoming of bigots!

Time will tell. I am hoping by the next election, women will be protected and even the Green party won't be able to touch that.

finallygettingit · 15/10/2025 19:01

@LarkspurLane it is very much still the case
https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/
these women were banned from having a stall at the conference
the party has lost thousands in court cases brought by gender critical members who have been kicked out or silenced, and there are more to come

Well I must say I’m very much enjoying watching him call out the nazi reformers! That bloody banshee Carole Malone had the audacity to ask him if he actually knows what the term Nazi means - how uneducated can someone be?! Go Zack! 🙌🙌🙌

It's a perfectly reasonable question. The words "nazi" and "fascist" are thrown around far too readily by people like Zack who consider themselves to be on the progressive Left. The words become meaningless.

If the average Reform councillor or voter is called a Nazi then what words are left to describe genuine Neo Nazis?

I agree with this. Once you start calling everyone to the Right of Jeremy Corbyn a nazi then you start minimising what naziism and fascism actually is. If David Cameron is a fascist then whats the big deal. It minimises the horrors of the nazis.

He’s calling the reform party nazis. They are. He’s not calling everyone to the right of JC 🙄

He’s Jewish. His ancestors were murdered by nazis. He knows one full well when he sees one.

I wish Carole would have picked him up on the Tony Benn quote he incessantly trots out every time someone references his bosom whispering past. Benn was referring to someone’s origins, fundamental things that a person has no control over, not a stupid and embarrassing mistake you made ten years earlier.

tobee · 15/10/2025 20:06

Hmm, calling a woman "a bloody banshee" is misogynistic language if you ask me

GabGab123 · 15/10/2025 20:16

Sorry, not all jews 'know nazis when they see one'.
He is not a friend to jews despite being jewish.
He is perfectly okay with people in his party:

  1. screaming 'allahu akhbar! this win is for gaza' when winning a seat on the council (surely the win should be for the people he claims to look after in leeds?)
  2. sharing completely inappropriate material on social media - including celebrating a hamas conference and writing the equivalent of 'hear hear' and sharing antisemitic material celebrating october 7
  3. calling literally anyone who doesn't agree with his far left views (and i'm left of centre btw) 'a nazi fascist' which is a disgusting use of the term indeed, as a jew himself, he should be a bit more careful flinging the term 'nazi' about as he really ought to know better. No, Farage is not my cup of tea either, neither are some of the tories, but also no they are not 'nazis'. Why do people think that jews aren't capable of being pretty shit towards 98% of other jews? It's the worst kind of racial tokenism. E.g saying Candace Owens, who is a black far right loon who thinks black people deserve their higher rates of unemployment (!) is somehow representative of black people in america. She isn't. And Zack certainly does not represent a single Jew I know. Inverting the Holocaust is actually sick, and people will not look back favourably on this guy.

Then one would think he (and his fellow party) would know better than to call women who fight for single sex spaces 'nazis'. But that is literally what they call us. Nazis and fascists. These two words have come from him, and have come from many in his party on twitter, including many of his MPs. It's just an extension of the 'feminazi' slur his sort hurled at women during the '70s womens lib era. It's back again.

The Greens really do call everyone and anyone that doesn't adhere to their beliefs 'nazis'. You would think he would know better.

im sorry, but this is just not based in reality.

Zack was very clear when calling a member of Reform a fascist, and qualified it by saying he was a member of a far right party whose leader had publicly teamed up with a swedish nazi party (by their own description).

I have never heard him use that language or terminology in his discussions about any other issues, and i would be incredibly surprised if you could find any available quotes to back that up.

I am so sick of pre-emptive outrage from people about perceived liberal intolerance that has taken place only in their own fevered minds.....

ThatsNotMyNameAlan · 15/10/2025 23:19

He’s a moron. He thinks women can have penises.

i actually think its refreshing to have someone talk openly and clearly about the benefits and need for migration, as well as being very blunt about wanting to tax wealth and assets.
The Green Party are, right now, the only established socialist party and have grown in size DESPITE an almost full media blackout over the past few years

With millions of native Brits out of work and on benefits, please remind me again what our need for more migration is?
