Labour Supporters - Do you think it would help if KS was replaced?

I am a life long labour voter. Like many I am incredibly disappointed, in fact I’m devastated by the direction of the current government.

Something needs to change in a pretty radical way or we are opening the door to Deform.

I’m torn between thinking the last thing we need is another revolving door at no 10 but I have lost any confidence that KS is able to lead us out of the mess the tories left us in.

Would it be a good thing to change leaders if this was possible and if so who should it be?

i think he was right to criticise Farage robustly, and it’s about time. But not only that!

I cant BELIEVE they had him banging on about the fact that his dad was a flippin toolmaker AGAIN at the conference! JFC 🙈

Its identity politics. They are doing poverty porn:

Phillipson claims her mum couldn't afford a winter coat yet could afford music lessons.

Reeves claims her family couldn't afford books yet her dad was a Headteacher.

It is all virtue signalling shit, a competition about who can boast of having the poorest background. All whilst ignoring the advantages each of them had ie aspirational parents.

As is demonstrated on MN daily, the most vocal adherents of Labour are fairly middle class, public sector types. There's not much support for socialism from people who work for themselves or run small businesses. Ronald Reagan said it best; the most terrifying words a small town, small time entrepreneur ever hears are, "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help".

Yes ie they are wealthy enough not to suffer from Labour policy and shielded within their public jobs.

Let’s be honest, there’s never been support for left leaning parties from self employed small business owners. It’s nothing new.

It must be just that group still approving, or state support although 11% is lower than both.

Wrong. My small business owning champagne socialist dad is a lifelong Labour voter. WC background guilt I think

Timeforabitofpeace · 30/09/2025 20:28

I know personally plenty of small business owners voted for labour.

You have been quick to try to eject posters from anti-Labour threads when you don’t agree with their views telling them to find other threads. So why are you and the usual suspects weighing in on this one?

Hard agree - it’s seriously tedious; it wouldn’t be so bad if there was even the slightest attempt at thoughtful discussion or to engage with a different point of view.

No irony. I never post on the ‘Labour isn’t working’ threads as I respect that space for those who want to discuss that topic, although there are posters on there who I’ve had respectful discussions with on other threads. Aren’t you on another thread saying that you will vote Reform to keep Labour out?. It just seems odd to then derail a thread aimed at Labour supporters to have a constructive discussion about a potential change in party leader. I did ask you previously who you would choose as leader, but you never got back to me.

There’s a pro Labour thread where people have the space. When the tories were in everyone posted with their usual on a thread similar to this one don’t worry.

Buzyizzy217 · 01/10/2025 10:53

Where to start? The entire interview was filled with interruptions and put downs, the like of which she never did to her tories and still doesn’t. Compare them, she needs sacking. Victoria Derbyshire is the only decent one left.

The first two words in the title of this thread are ‘Labour Supporters’. Is that not a big enough clue for you to practice what you preach on the Labour’s not working thread? Ditto Twistyizzy

No. There’s a pro Labour thread already. One each is enough. If that’s what people are after they exist.

There isn’t actually if you’re referring to the Starmer series of threads. They’re a very long way from being “pro Labour”. It’s not your call to decide which threads should exist.

It’s not your call to say who can post on this one.

I mean you think you are, lurking and then randomly popping up to tell people where they can/can not post. Don't see you contributing in any meaningful way to anything, just lurking and playing at being the post police.

Telling people where to post.

I remember Tory supporter threads pre GE swamped with Labour, usually far more insulting than posts here.

Yep it’s bizarre.
