…..disappointed and angry right now? I’m still, and always will be, a Labour supporter-it’s the party that most closely aligns with my political, philosophical and moral beliefs. But bloody hell, surely the least we can expect is basic competence?

Going by your comments, you seem to be confusing mortgage rates, government borrowing costs, swap rates and BOE interest rates. Is your point that mortgage rates went up after Truss’s budget and haven’t with Rachel in charge?

Those things are inseparably entwined. Tell the authors of the articles quoted they don’t understand. 🤷‍♀️

From the Telegraph..

The yield on 30-year UK gilts – a benchmark for the cost of servicing the national debt – jumped as much as nine basis points to 5.63pc on Tuesday, close to a 27-year high.

This reflected the biggest daily increase of any major global economy, as economists warned that Britain was paying a “moron premium” on its debt – a phenomenon whereby investors charge countries more to borrow because of previous policy missteps.

Well Unite aren't happy with Labour "Anger at Labour ministers from inside Unite’s ranks was high, she said, bringing the union close to cutting off party funds"

I know it's for historical reasons but the Unions funding is such a massive conflict of interest when the first thing Labour do in office is cave in to their funders. Same accusation the left aim to big business and the Conservatives. It's all a racket.

Yes they are. Can I ask what exactly is your point?

UK seems shite under Tory & Labour 🤷‍♀️

I was responding to your post, what’s yours - apart from casting aspersions on my intelligence?

I had two points picking up from your posts:

  1. Government borrowing costs are higher now than after Truss’s budget.
  2. Yields did go down again after Truss’s budget.

Its not casting aspersions on your intelligence to challenge false claims, I think you are casting aspersions on other peoples intelligence by posting false information that is so easily fact checked and then copying and pasting unrelated information when challenged,

So, Rayner really is the gift that keeps on giving…

Many of us did say she has skeletons.

Oh I dunno.

Labour have really fucked up within just over a year - and without a pandemic or referendum to deal with.

14 years of Labour and the UK would cease to exist.

Yes, that’s why I posted it.

Starmer is compelled to lurch to the right on welfare and immigration - not because he wants to, but because of Reform.

And yet, such a move could tear Labour apart.
