Trump has called in federal military troops into Washington DC, starting with the false excuse of high crime (the crime rate has actually dropped markedly), and is ordering things that appear to be illegal. It looks like a lead-in to martial law. I've been in a forum with everyone posting in mounting concern.

So much for the champion of free speech. It's going to be a crime to mess with the American flag. He also wants to increase the amount of people executed by the state.

That's a really good example of Trump's lawlessness. There was a very specific Supreme Court ruling long ago declaring that burning a flag is considered political speech, and therefore protected. So it's an easy examples of Trump's blatantly unconstitutional moves.

It's quite concerning, in the context of this regime, that prison numbers in the US are falling considerably - apparently younger people just aren't being arrested at anything like the rate of young people in previous decades so as older prisoners die or are released there's no one coming in. And prisons are Big Business in America.

I can see prison management companies complaining to this government they haven't got enough prisoners, so they need there to be more crimes and this lot would happily wave through prison for homlessness, protesting, criticising the government, made-up 'racism' against white people - anything they like basically. It's a bad combo.

There has been proof and reports of Clinton the democrats president yet you pretend democrats are blame free right? If Trump was named don’t you think Biden and the democrats would have done everything to release them when you look at all they did to stop him running, fake investigations, trying to remove him off the ballots etc.

Yes I’m happy for armed troops when many democrat mayors have literally handcuffed their police departments in the name of being woke and soft on crime and continue to prioritize criminals over law abiding tax payers.

It surprised me too - there's a lot of factors in play, eg easier to get caught these day with stuff on camera, and young people going out less. If you're not going out in big groups of mates, less drinking, less likelihood of fights breaking out etc. There doesn't seem to be an equivalent in the UK but maybe that's because we don't have the same degree of prison as a profit industry, so we didn't have such a disproportionate rate of jailing people 30-40 years ago.
