Who would you vote for in a general election tomorrow?

If the next GE was tomorrow, who would you vote for? I've been unimpressed at decisions made by Labour since they came in and just don't have much faith in their long term plans. I've never even considered voting Tory, but also don't really see Labour doing much more to improve things for anyone. Will be interesting to see how things are in a few years time when the next GE comes round. Am I missing some really good stuff Labour are implementing?

Definitely not Labour - i have absolutely no idea what Starmer stands for and I think he's far too weak to be a leader. Not good internationally either. Labour aren't united around him and his cabinet is full of lightweights.

Labour because my DM is finally getting the operation that she's been waiting 5 years for.

I doubt very much your mother’s operation has anything to do with Labour being in government. 5 years ago we were in a pandemic and waiting lists went up across the board, no government could have controlled that or got the wait times down.

HappiestSleeping · 28/06/2025 20:26

Not Conservative
Not Reform

scalt · 28/06/2025 20:27

Normally I would say “the Monster Raving Loony party”, but Farage and Badenoch (and Trump) are the Monster Raving Loony party. For now, labour is the nearest thing we have to “sensible”.

I’m still giving Labour the benefit of the doubt because they’re still up to their necks in the shit the Tories left them, and the fallout of three extremely damaging lockdowns (but shhhhhh… they all agree that those must never be mentioned, and I haven’t forgotten that Labour did not voice a shred of opposition to the madness of lockdowns. One problem with Labour is that they’re not good at communicating what they are achieving; but I’d rather that than clowns like Boris and Farage promising miracles, and saying what they think people will vote for, with no idea how to achieve it.

No idea but definitely not Labour. Starmer and Reeves are even more dire than I expected, which is quite an achievement.

Same

Hmm. Didn’t Tony Blair start off the tuition fees?

No. Shiney Dave and Nick Clegg. And Blair was Tory lite (and a war criminal)

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 28/06/2025 20:29

Whoever gets Labour out.

newhouseplans · 28/06/2025 20:29

Labour

MiseryIn · 28/06/2025 20:29

Labour

I’m glad someone remembers that. It was the very first thing his government did, and started my almost total distrust of politicians. He also awarded himself a huge pay rise in 2001, just after being re-elected. He knew how to play the system.

Not Labour, Lib Dems, Conservatives or Green Party. I’d rather spoil my ballot right now.

PolitePoster · 28/06/2025 20:32

Always been a bit of a floating voter. However, I hate what Labour are doing to the country. My 91 year old MIL spent the winter terrified to turn on her heating! If there was an election tomorrow I'd vote Reform.

Wolmando · 28/06/2025 20:38

Reform

Indeed they did! Apologies. One more reason to hang the fucker.

liquoriceallsortfamily · 28/06/2025 20:52

Anyone but reform

CrushingOnRubies · 28/06/2025 20:56

Mebyon Kernow if they are running or Lib Dem

Quirkswork · 28/06/2025 20:56

Life long Conservative voter thinking of voting Reform for the first time which annoys me intensely. The two main parties are stuck in the past at the moment, tinkering round the edges unwilling to sort this country out fundamentally, particularly regarding immigration. Kemi is just not cutting through.

ItsBouqeeeet · 28/06/2025 20:59

I'd rather have Tom and Jerry running the country than the clowns we have at the minute..

RowsOfFlowers · 28/06/2025 20:59

I am interested in why people would vote Reform? Is it simply to get Labour out? 🤔

EdithStourton · 28/06/2025 21:00

No fucking idea. None. I've never felt so disenfranchised in my life - I was saying that 4 or 5 years ago and it's just got worse since.

TheAutumnCrow · 28/06/2025 21:02

maybegoingcrazy · 28/06/2025 19:28

I've always voted Lib Dem but it's a wasted vote where I am really.

Both the Greens and Lib Dems think that people can magically change sex, and that kids should be indoctrinated into and damaged by this utter crap.

They are a bloody disgrace, just like Labour, and just like influential Tories eg Penny Mordaunt, Caroline Nokes and Theresa May. This is an international children’s safeguarding scandal that they are now finally facing. Bloody hell.

Could it be that the Tories and Labour aren't resonating with the electorate anymore? I think both parties are so out of tune with their core supporters people are maybe looking elsewhere?

It's a protest vote at the moment. Protesting against all the main parties and the shitshow they've produced over the last few decades. If Reform get in and fail the same as the other parties then we really are screwed.
