Who would you vote for in a general election tomorrow?

If the next GE was tomorrow, who would you vote for? I've been unimpressed at decisions made by Labour since they came in and just don't have much faith in their long term plans. I've never even considered voting Tory, but also don't really see Labour doing much more to improve things for anyone. Will be interesting to see how things are in a few years time when the next GE comes round. Am I missing some really good stuff Labour are implementing?

Lib Dem

Wynter25 · 28/06/2025 19:34

None

Not Reform
Not Tory
Not Lib Dem
Not Labour

This! I was asking myself the other day who on earth would I vote for now, having been a labour voter all my life - certainly not Kemi or Nigel and I’ll never get over the betrayal by the Lib Dem’s.

plantsnpants · 28/06/2025 19:34

Many people I know would vote reform- I can’t bring myself to vote for anyone- I feel so let down by labour but like kier starmer

no one is willing to make the difficult changes that are needed to save the country from bankruptcy

Kirbert2 · 28/06/2025 19:35

Labour.

Overthebow · 28/06/2025 19:36

Definitely not labour. I have no idea.

zaxxon · 28/06/2025 19:37

I think Labour are getting the nasty stuff out of the way now, early in their term, in the hope that everyone will have forgotten by election time. So they may yet clean up their act

maybegoingcrazy · 28/06/2025 19:38

@Openthisdoor glad I'm not the only one asking myself this!

Interesting theory but makes sense. Though I fear people are so personally affected (redundancy eg) they may not be so fast to forget

They've not even started on what needs to be done. U-turns on WFA and disability benefits! Massive NIC hikes on employers causing more unemployment. Rachel's fiscal rules in tatters with the deficit increasing rather than decreasing. They've repeatedly shot themselves in the foot yet not actually achieved anything. Rachel is a dead woman walking and will almost certainly be sacked after her Autumn Budget. I anticipate her having to raise taxes which will be very unpopular, and then she'll take the flack for it, get sacked, and that leaves a new Chancellor with a clean sheet whom Labour will hope will take the heat off and make voters forget Rachel's cock ups!

I agree. Likewise the 3 million excluded from covid support was part of Rishi's downfall - they were typical Tory voters (i.e. small business owners, freelance professionals etc, who got bugger all despite not being able to trade and generate income) - those who lost their businesses, livelihoods and savings weren't going to forgive and forget when it came to the 2024 GE with Rishi as Tory leader after what he did to them!

Lifelover16 · 28/06/2025 19:44

Anyone but labour.

Theblackbirdissinging · 28/06/2025 19:44

Certainly not Labour. I’m currently firing up my magic wand for a GE tomorrow.

Shade17 · 28/06/2025 19:44

Whichever candidate stands the best chance of ousting the incumbent Labour scumbag in our constituency.

They've done well locally. I suspect they will be a strong opponent. Their policies aren't for me, but clearly neither are labours or the tories. At least reform don't pretend to be something they're not which is what im starting to feel about Labour.

But still interested in views to the contrary, esp from people who would vote for Labour tomorrow.

Locally they won Staffordshire and first thing they did was fix the enormous bloody pothole on a big roundabout that cars tried to swerve out the way of and caused collisions. Second thing was to tell PRIDE if they want to march and have additional police officers they must pay for it themselves. The tax payers won't fund it anymore. They are also prioritising care leavers and SEND. Those were their 4 priorities going into the local elections and they seem to be sticking to them.

That would probably be my vote as well, as a protest at the state of politics in the UK.

There are no political parties that represent me.

This.

purpleygrey · 28/06/2025 19:45

monster raving looney party.

ClarabelleRose · 28/06/2025 19:47

Labour.

floppybit · 28/06/2025 19:49

I voted for the SDP in the last election. I didn’t know they existed until I was stood in the booth and saw they had a candidate, quickly googled their stance on the protection of women only spaces, liked what I saw and voted for them. They won’t have a candidate in every area, but they are well worth a look for anyone who is politically homeless (like I was).

CheshireCat1 · 28/06/2025 19:49

Definitely Labour

MaySea · 28/06/2025 19:50

The Communist Party

Confuuzed · 28/06/2025 19:51

Labour because my local MP is a good guy who has done a lot for the local community.

xanthomelana · 28/06/2025 19:51

I’d vote tactically to get rid of Labour but unfortunately that gives me the option of either Reform or Plaid Cymru. Neither fills me with joy but Labour have had their time here.
